what we can't even do hobbit feet in wide shots or stunts c'mon
he's not gonna stretch at all is he
By NiceGuy Go To PostThe answer to that question should be 'who gives a shit' surelyknowing who gives a shit about what is the single most important thing you should know when adapting something
flipflops complete the character design. strike one
I might have said it in the tlou thread, but if you fuck up what the fans want (usually visuals) and give them the crazy bullshit no one cares about instead, you alienate everyone. tomorrow studio's cowboy bebop only being the most recent example
joel and ellie have the same stupid wardrobe because someone knew the fans would flip out. I don't care, but someone knew some weirdos would. I think you have have all this shit on instinct
I think the problem is One Piece is a cartoon world. Fish restaurants and smiling sheep masts are good, saying closed toed shoes preferred is not.
This is why this shit is so hard to do and why the hit rate is so low

Luffy is trash-tier design anyways. No surprise they are having trouble balancing his look and saving actor's ankles.

It is an adaptation not a 100% remake.

My hope is around average at best for this show. I know they have a huge budget, but I don’t know how you pull off some of the shit in the manga.
I love the world, so I hope it can be a hit and create more success for the franchise.
Hopefully it will be good for more than two episodes... Getting harder and harder to pay for Netflix

People not sold on the source CBR is using, maybe contradicts with other things that have been confirmed
Doesn't mean it won't be bad, just grain of salt about the test screening shit

Netflix said it’s closing down its original DVD by mail business, marking the end of an era as it focuses on retooling its streaming offerings including a new ad-supported plan.
“To everyone who ever added a DVD to their queue or waited by the mailbox for a red envelope to arrive: thank you,” CEO Ted Sarandos wrote in a blog post Tuesday titled “Netflix DVD – The Final Season.”
The last discs will be mailed out September 29, and must be returned by Oct. 27. Final bills will go out in August. Service to subscribers with DVD and streaming accounts won’t be affected.
“After an incredible 25 year run, we’ve made the difficult decision to wind down at the end of September. Our goal has always been to provide the best service for our members, but as the DVD business continues to shrink, that’s going to become increasingly difficult. Making 2023 our final season allows us to maintain our quality of service through the last day and go out on a high note,” Sarandos said.

Don't think there's a smarmier CEO out there
Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos addressed the possibility of a writers strike during the company’s first-quarter financials today. “We respect the writers, and we respect the WGA. We couldn’t be here without them,” he said. “We don’t want a strike. If there’s a strike — and we want to work really hard to make sure we can find a fair and equitable deal so we can avoid one — but if there is one, we have a large base of upcoming shows and films from around the world. We can probably serve our members better than most.”
That's one of the many reasons for the strike
Streamers had this coming for a long time when they decided to sidestep residuals

By Crusher Go To PostThey got the wrong lessons from Cobra Kai.Netflix has been cashing in on nostalgia since it started making original content... 😂
finished beef.
decent watch with good performances from yeun and wong, but it's ultimately a bit predictable.
does get better towards the end, though.

I like the ideas and writing behind ITYSL but I really don't especially love Robinson's delivery / acting in almost any of the sketches I've watched.
