the ending of s1 got me excited for s2. the ending of s2, even though it was a good season--and probably better than 1--made me go "oh, they're doing another one..."

Still need to catch up on S4 but I really do love BCS too, much better character work. Breaking Bad was really fun in a pulpy way, but BCS is much more interesting.
bcs is much better, less action but more character focused, more subtle, a series that knew what it wanted to be from the start unlike breaking bad which takes around a season to start getting good

I guess it depends on what you want in a show. I LOVE both of them but I'd take BB any day of the week, the story is just way more engaging.

In the end you'll never expect a perfect adaption of a book. These things are incredible rare and even with alot of good cases you've got plenty of stuff missing (GOT, LOTR and so on) or you've got the entire tone changed (Starship Troopers did that incredible well).
Most of these shows that botch the material mostly utterly fail when they'll try to introduce their own material while cutting other things. Altered Carbon did that as well in S1, but the majority of bad stuff was just the overall quality of writing, acting and structure.
Books are just miles ahead in nearly everything (except for the sex scenes, they're cring material in the books).

I watched the first couple episodes but once I realized the hostage negotiator and the mastermind dude were going to get together AFTER she already suspected him it got too stupid for me and I had to turn it off. Idk I might give it another shot at some point.

Narcos is top 3 Netflix content, despite being a story you already know for the most part the show is so character driven its just as gripping as not knowing the story. Felix took along time to grow on me but what I really is how they showed him up against it, really up that mans life was fucking pressure ( all by his own ambition ofc).
Damn, this season was good. Sypha going for the title of best Avatar. The last two episodes are fucked up.
