Sure, but I watched the show because I was looking for light hearted. Which it, even though it always dealt with serious topics, was the first 2 -3 seasons. I try keep my sad depressing shit in film. Two hour bursts. No interest in a weeklong binge of that shit.
By Pennywise Go To PostWait.lol i mean best of all the narcos seasons imo, the mexico characters just clicked
Best season of Narcos in general or just Narcos Mexico?
If it's the latter, it's hardly an achievment.
By rerixo Go To Postlol i mean best of all the narcos seasons imo, the mexico characters just clickedGonna give it a go.
Didn't like the first season that much, because the acting varied from good to fucking terrible. Also the amount of characters, where you didn't really get involved enough with the characters to care, was something that put me off.

Stick with it man, Narcos has just gotten better and better, season 3 was elite TV.
I found the pace really slow to begin with Mexico but it was still fucking brilliant, especially on the rewatch.
On episode 2 now, its so well shot man. Quavo wasnt terrible either (wouldnt have been my choice but watevs).
Always wondered how the power shifted from Colombia to Mexico

I meant season 1 of Mexico that was a letdown. Enjoyed S1-S3 of the original.
Power shift was quite clear already with S3 of the original series.
Big cartels were broken, Mexico got the routes directly into the US.

So in lol. DY so mad he has to watch another season of this to watch and complain about.
By Zabojnik Go To PostInky, where is my Locke & Key report?Didn't realize it was out already !
By Laboured Go To PostThought Locke and Key was a bit of a twee Young-Adult-fest tbh.You mean like CW shows? Could be, I only saw the one trailer.
Yeah, can confirm Cavalo's findings. Only read a couple of chapters of the comic and it felt way more dark and adult than this.
By Laboured Go To PostMmmmph, yes, this is gud.hype
More Stranger Things already? Didn't the last season come out like six months ago

I got that vibe too, but it was only a vibe if that makes sense. I was hoping it would be a little darker, but I'm not sure I mind.

Bojack sounds like a case of bait and switch though, it's not what I'm looking for.
By MonadL Go To PostS6 of Bojack is quite a ride. Episode 15 is one of the saddest things I've ever watched.yeah, that episode is a trip and a half. that scene where bojack talks to secretariat/his dad....jeeeeeeeez.
Bojack sad.
Watching all the ghiblis.. fun!
Stranger Things peaked with 3 so far. 1+2 were decent but they found their groove with 3. Not sure i need 4 but i'm watching it anyway.

1 is still the only good one, but they're all watchable. Steadily less so. The peak of 3 was the Steve and Robin stuff, the rest I could leave
6 episodes into The Witcher, enjoying it a lot.
Time shifts are a bit odd but there's not so much overlap that it seems to matter all that much. Wish there were more monster fight scenes, the one with the Striga was fucking great. Production value varies a lot scene by scene. Takes me a minute to get used to Cavill's voice every episode, doesn't suit his face if you know what I mean. Hope he grows a beard for S2.

By Pizza Go To Post4 episodes into Narcos, good so far. I miss Don Neto and Rafa though
Finished yday, such a brilliant series man. They really know how to tell a story, everything isnt perfect by any stretch but the show is able to build up tension, its beautiful to look tax, some actors are really strong through out and then the way it gets you to care about some of the people that are killed despite them being evil bastards. I hate felix but brilliant role, really felt the upped the ante in this season. Bring on season 3
Fuuuuck finished it last night. If you're not watching this season of Narcos you're missing out, this show never disappoints
Felix coming for Marlo's crown as biggest piece of shit TV drug kingpin. God damn Diego Luna is good though and makes him so watchable

Loving Narcos and I can't say it enough but it makes the show so much better that Mexicans are actually speaking Spanish in Mexico. I couldn't get into Chernobyl cause of the Russians speaking English with a British accent, it just takes me completely out of shows and movies when they do that. Give some new actors who speak the language a chance instead of doing that dumb shit, props to Netflix for keeping Narcos with the official language of the countries involved.
If this show were on HBO they would have gotten Edward Norton to play Felix.

By Not Go To PostRussian-British actors are probably harder to come by than bilingual latin americans
Most of the actors in Chernobyl aren't Russian, they are just white people from all over Europe using a British accent which is the default to sound foreign in movies where it's supposed to be a completely different language. My point is that they could have done the show completely in Russian with actual Russian actors and subtitles, Narcos has hours of scenes and dialog completely in Spanish.
Think about the first scene with Pablo and "plata o plomo" but instead it's Dicaprio saying "Silver or lead" with a Antonio Banderas accent. That's how badly shows take me out of them when they aren't speaking the right languages.
Did anyone watch Locke and Key?
It seems implied that Sam killed his dad because when he tells Tyler he’s going to kill his dad, Tyler says “well when you do, do me a favor and kill mine as well.” When Sam goes to Key House and has them hostage, Tyler finds out that had nothing to do with why Sam killed his dad. So now my question is, am I understanding this correctly because then his sister is left all alone and it’s never even addressed which seems weird.

That is the correct assumption, yes.
I don't think Tyler shared any of this with his sister or any of the other family members, it's something he kept for himself and it was clearly eating him up. He got his answer, unburdened himself and that's the end of that.

Why is Quavo in Narcos? His cameo is just horrible, he uses slang from today, has face tats which people in the 80s didn't do and has locks. Dopeboys in the mid 80s from LA or wherever he's supposed to be from weren't wearing locks, they had flattops, small fros or s-curls and looked nothing like him.

Westcoast dopeboys have been twisted up for years. Style was a little different than today for sure tho

Twists sure but he got locks down past his shoulders, that wasn't really a thing in the early to mid 80s anywhere outside the Caribbean. It's just a jarring thing to see him in the show, they didn't even try to make him look era appropriate he literally looks like he's on set of a current video.
Yeah could have done without that Migos lad. But boy it was a great second season I’d say. Suppose they’ll gonna go ahead with more on El Chapo now? Or is there another cartel before his rise to power?
Also really happy Better Call Saul is back, Dutch Netflix has them the day after AMC airs them in the US. Great first episode.

I read that they focused too much on action scenes, again.
