I watched episode 1 of Bloodline and that was boring as hell despite being wellade. I'll give episode2 a shot but so far it doesn't have a great hool beyond Kyle Chandler.
Really? I loved the first episode. so much nuance in the performance made the characters so enjoyable to watch. ESPECIALLY the interactions between Mendehlson and Chandler.
If you want boring, watch Madmen. jesus, can't count how many times I've tried to get into that but evrything was so uninteresting.
Lol I've watched both shows to the end (well, Current with Mad Men but it's still not done) and I think both are awesome.
They're shows driven by the character development, more than the plot. So that seems boring to a lot of people. But that's how most classic literature is so I'm used to it.
Bloodline is slow until the last 4 episodes but it's good. And the ways in which it reveals elements of the characters or the future/past is super good writing.
On episode 4 of bloodlines. Thus family is so darn interesting.
Kind of a stupid question but Vahagn since you're finished with season 1, answer me this.
So, I fucking love Mendehlson's character Danny and his performance so far is amazing, really wasn't expecting to be so impressed. I know season 2 has been announced. Tell me, does his character survive? Because after the pilot its a bummer watching the show knowing that he might be blown to bits.
Are you sure you want me to spoil the ending for you?
No, he doesn't survive. The flash forwards and flashbacks are all accurate, there's no trickery there. And yea Mendehlson's acting is nothing short of superb.
I love Mad Men, Sopranos, The West Wing, True Detective, Breaking Bad, et al. but all of those had something going on early beyond a family reunion at a beach resort.
It's also why I'm going to give it a few episodes, but all I'm saying is that the pilot isn't doing itself any favors.

Honestly, Mendehlson's acting, and the moments between Mendehlson/Chandler in the later episodes are worth watching it alone. The dude is a revelation.

Bloodline is a different beast, those are TV shows that have to get you hooked to turn up next week. Netflix gives the shows a bit more freadom with pacing. The family reunion might not seem much but just wait until things start to unravel. As Vahagn said, it is worth watching just for Mendelsohn. Danny is a conflicted and complicated character who is the core of the plot, everything revolves around him and Mendelsohn plays him to perfection. It´s no surprise that he seems to be getting lined up for some big roles, including a possible lead in the Star Wars spin-off.
Give it time, it starts slow but as soon as the lies start to come up, things will get interesting and they final 4 episodes are quite tense.
Just as LFMartin said. Another way to think of this show is to view it as a novel. Each episode is a chapter. You don't have cliffhangers at the end of every chapter in a novel, that would be stupid. And some chapters simply develop characters and shine the light into motivations - past and present rather then move the plot along at a frantic pace.
like any great novel, it builds to a climax with excellent foreshadowing and literary (read:cinematic) techniques and then deals with the fallout.
This shit is getting TENSE
Bloodline spoilers
Why is Danny so creepy around Meg? Like wtf dude but at the same time he isn't saying anything too creepy and meg doesn't want him around her kids? The fuck #teamdanny

By Vahagn Go To Postyou finish yet?
I do not want to watch the final 2 episodes.
Why can't they just work things out man
fuck
I also watched They Came Together. Didn't know anything about it and hadn't seen a single second of footage and once I caught on to the premise of the movie I thought I wasn't going to find it funny butbitbproved me wrong. Very entertaining and I definitely laughed a few times.
By psychintellect Go To PostGot around to watching Snatch and Fargo. Very entertaining movies.
Should check out the Fargo TV show, shit is Great.
Still too silly. Like, in typical Marvel Universe stuff, I'm convinced of the fantasy. Guys have magical powers or whatever which explains how they can engage in acts of heroism. But there's no explanation as to how Daredevil can fight. Yeah, his dad's a boxer, but tossing found objects at badguys with precision and his acrobatic stunts? Dude gets hurt like Spider-Man does, but he also does not have super strength. Dude literally just manfights 10 guys at a time in a hallway. With his fists.
C'mon, son.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostIt's explained later how he learned to fight.
I'll stick with it. I'm just watching it like, one episode/wk because my wife and I are watching together and we're on two different schedules.
By Zero Tolerance Go To PostFinally got around to watching the second episode of Daredevil. It started out hella slow, but ended up being overall better than the first. Rosario waifu.
Didn't realize Rosario Dawson was in it. That settles it, I'm watching this immediately.
Everyone should watch It's Such a Beautiful Day.

Watched Area 51, The Monster Squad, Masters of the Universe, Dear White People over the last 2 days.
Hopefully season 4 can maintain the quality but I think the show should end there on a high note.
