By livefromkyoto Go To PostActually, that one I can see.Because he went out like Yoda always wanted him to. Remember that in ESB, both Yoda and Obi-Wan (after they, too, abandoned being a Jedi) told him not to abandon his training and try to save his friends. It's 100% within the ethos for Luke to do that.
If I had more of an attachment to the character, I can see how that would be an ignominious end to the mythos. After fighting through everything he just gives up being a Jedi -and on the Jedi as a whole - over a really simplistic moral quandry that a teenager could (and does) resolve.
And his death is bizarre - if his telepathic hologram was so demanding that it was going to kill him anyway, why not just show up and fight Kylo for real? It was a kind of underwhelming death for the franchise’s hero, he doesn’t even get to go out with a real fight.
Netflix has been secretly putting HDR behind a new Ultra payment plan.
Prices vary from country to country (Germany has it 20€, Portugal for 17€) and some countries have reduced the available number of streams on the Premium plan (4K but no HDR) from 4 to 2.
This is some major bullshit, they've just bumped the price up less than a year ago.

This seems to be for new clients, currently.
Ultra doesn't show up in my account as an option to upgrade but if I look on their site for payment plans, Ultra appears on the list.
Seems to be very recent as all the text speaks of 3 plans and not 4.

netflix makes all this money but still acts like they haven't got 2 fucking pennies to rub together.

By Laboured Go To PostTbf they have billions in debt, more than Disney.
they need to stop buying up all those straight-to-DVD Steven Seagal movies then innit.
Watched TAU last night. Sometimes think they'd be better off spending their money on direct-to-DVD Seagal movies. Some of their bought up movies are so shite.

If they would hold up the status quo without funding new projects, they wouldn't have a chance against the likes of Amazon, Disney and surely Google, who will join the market sooner or later.
Once Disney's Netflix deal wraps up and they launch their service with ESPN/FX/Marvel/Disney content, I'll be interested in how Netflix responds.

I'm getting Steam v EA Origin vibes.

Respond? They knew this was coming and their response has and will be original content. Not much else they can do.

Didn't know this, so was stuck on a train and decide to have a quick nosey at some numbers and around and wtf at the risk appetite. Everyone just believes it'll keep growing until but it won't and they won't be making anywhere close enough to cover those debts.
Netflix to be bought in 7/8 years imo (prob less)
Regarding the subject, it will be about the Atlanta child murders in the 70s. No release date yet but I wouldn't be shocked if it came out early 2019.
Production got delayed after Fincher rejected the first scripts. He was doing pre-production work in April, it was supposed to start shooting at the end of April but there was no official info since then.

gotcha. Regarding the subject, there was a terrible podcast called "atlanta monster". Do not listen.
Isn't that the structure that Alucard uses to save, in SOTN? Dracula is stacking the deck with save-states.

Is Fincher working on anything else atm? These shows usually get pushed back due to schedules.

M8s rates.
I watched The Outsider, the Netflix produced Jared Leto/Asano Tadanobu yakuza movie.
Meh.
It wastes a great cast and setting on a generic story that keeps struggles to keep away from mighty whitey tropes. Also Leto method acts as a vaguely psychopathic ken doll, and people’s reactions to him make no sense.

By Laboured Go To PostWatched that Staircase true crime documentary. Idk quite why it's so highly rated. Maybe I'm burned out on these.I haven't liked too many of the hyped Netflix crime documentaries trying to both sides a thing. I read into a lot of these things and go down rabbit holes and I don't fuck with a lot of docs or podcasts as a result. They either get stuff wrong or omit shit for their own agenda. In Making a Murderer it's pretty fuckin' clear dude did it even though the police were scumbags especially towards a couple other of his family members. The damn doc itself actually excluded some info though to make it seem like they just came up with this dude out of thin air which is horseshit.*
Then you have this owl bullshit. Microscopial. Not even full on fucking feathers visible to the naked eye. Must have been an owl then. No other way some of that shit got into her hair, like being outside near a nest. Let's run a multi episode series about this one. YAWN.

By reilo Go To PostSo you are not a Jonah Hill fan then.
Will watch for Cary Foji Fukunaga (directed all of True Detective S1) and Emma Stone.
I like Jonah Hill as an actor, but if he was replaced by someone else it wouldn't change my desire to see this show.
Ghoul was very good. Netflix's push for more international productions is one of their strongest points.

Oh I know what it's based off but I didn't know Sabrina was from Archie comics (we didn't really get Archie in the UK much).
