By diehard Go To Postso we can have a PG that is worse for the team than Hill? I would at least wait to see how the offseason goes and maybe trade for him then.
well if you just want a playmaker then I'm sure Rubio is available for cheaper
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postwell if you just want a playmaker then I'm sure Rubio is available for cheaperNo, we need a 3 and D point guard.
I got recommended the podcast to me in the main NBA thread by Reilo and Kibner and it was great! Listened to the latest one while at the gym and people thought I was crazy for smiling weirdly a couple of times. Will listen to the others!

By Kibner Go To PostI actually went to All Star Saturday and Sunday and have things to say, though! :p
i know we will talk about it but this year was horrible for the plebs that weren't actually there lol

The Mike Scott trade talk was so epic.. the moment everyone realized that the Suns need a new everything in the front office
Couple quick thoughts:
Everyone has good audio now!
Oh man can't talk about worst dunk contests without Chris Anderson. I think the allure of what a star could do in the dunk contest is actually more valuable than what they would do.. the "what if Lebron was in the contest!?" means more than if he went and probably disappointed people..
I'm sorry to anyone when Nick Young is their dog in the fight. LOL at the Adam Morrison Audio.

In reference to the Ibaka/MIllsap talk - Millsap's been on and off the block so many times in the past two years I don't blame anyone for not being able to keep track, but this season he was off the market well before the Ibaka deal happened:
That tweet's January 9th - the Raptors were world beaters up until the beginning of January, their swoon didn't happen until the Hawks got hot and decided to keep the band together. The timing there just didn't line up.
He allegedly was almost gone to Toronto during the offseason, but then Horford went to the Celtics and the Hawks decided to hang onto him.
In the end I can't complain about how things turned out. Ujiri got Ibaka for nothing, he's younger* and a better shooter. On a team that already has JV, and in a season where Patterson's been hurt and fallen off, Ibaka's 3-point shooting means a lot. Feel free to dispute it as homer goggles, but I'm not actually sure that Millsap would be a significantly better player for Toronto going forward.
*Even if you believe the conspiracies he's probably not 32.

By blackace Go To PostKind of seems like they or Boston could have gotten Boogie tho..
There were JV for Boogie rumours going around, but I don't know how real they were. I'm kind of Boogie-agnostic. His talent is undeniable, but he also seems like a guy who can kill a franchise's whole chemistry. The deal they got for him shows that GMs weren't tripping over themselves to get him, even the dumb ones.
I'm hoping New Orleans improves their guard situation this offseason so we can really see what's up.

By Kibner Go To PostThey ain't had Buddy, though. He has Steph Curry potential!
More like Dell Curry potential. I think he's going to be good, though. He just needs somebody to teach him to draw fouls.

Yeah, there's no doubt that Vlade hurt his own case then took a panic deal.

I am DISGUSTED

Vivek believes otherwise, which is why that trade went through. If the Pels had Jamaal Murray, it wouldn't have had happened.

Have you ever seen a Clippers-Warriors game? Take the Raptors to reach the finals is a better unique flower throwaway pick

This man is right.
But!
I'm on board Dy's Clipper crazy train if only to hope for something to break the monotonous inevitability of Golden State's victory that's been hanging over this entire season.
On Kings talk:
Drafted Thomas Robinson before Lillard
Traded Biyombo (7th pick) for 10th pick to draft Jimmer before Klay
Drafted Stauskas before LaVine
Drafted McLemore before McCollum
Drafted Tyreke Evans before Steph Curry and Derozan

I knew that Jimmer pick was a part of a trade. Especially after the Cousins pro-Kemba tweets around that time.
I'd defend ~most~ of those picks too. The thing is Sac's had these young guys and not only did nothing with them, but they drove their value down as well. That in particular is why they ain't shit imho
Even if your top 5 picks don't directly pay off in the form of exceptional talent or franchise changing studs, you can still move those young guys while they have positive value. Not directly contribute to depreciating their value or selling low on purpose out of fear and insecurity.

I honestly think all those players sans Jimmer would've grown into contributors on other teams with a proper culture.
By blackace Go To PostNoway anyone thought Nik was going to be better than LaVineshit, nic was getting buckets and styling in college
lavine was like the 4th best guard on his team lol. if he was a guard on a team other than UCLA, he might've even slipped to the 2nd round.
Also, not like some of those guards went to good situations when they were drafted, either. Warriors were a mess when Curry showed up, Charlotte can write books on tanking, Raptors were still thinking that Bargnani could be a good player when Derozan arrived, and Timberwolves aren't exactly winning shit since they got LaVine.
But the Kings are that big of a mess.

That's why people go to Pac-12 schools.
But really drafting freshmen isn't really about if they were the best player on their team it is their tools, and Zach was packed with tools for the pro level while Nik had mad questions about being able to get his shot off (and he can'T)
?? nik can get his shot off - he just can't shoot for shit. you don't give a white guy a nickname like 'sauce castillo' if he can't create
zach was looking like he ate boogers for a living until last year
also, its more UCLA than the rest of the pac-12. UCLA just cranks out NBA guards

I mean anyone can chuck.. it means getting a decent look.
Zach had to grow into his skillset a bit.. he was 20 when he started looking like an actual NBA player and at 21 he started showing flashes of something more..
Az and Wa put out a lot of NBA guards every year tho...

I think the legend of the Lonely God shows that all he needed was quality Chinese coaching.
