Effective activism.

So I went to the Black Lives Matter march at the University of Utah today. It was nice, but I have no idea how effective it is. That's something I've been wondering about recently. I definitely want to help a bunch of different people in different areas (race, LGBTQ, immigration, climate change), but I just want to know what is the most effective way of helping people. Are marches the best method? Letter writing campaigns? I really don't know and would be interested in finding out. What's the best way I can make a lot of white people be less shitty about race? What's the best way I can make people interested in climate change? I need to find this out...
Easily the best post you've ever done. And that's not a knock on your posting skills.
If you're interested, Gandhi wrote an autobiography and MLK wrote a couple books too. I read them as a teenager. There are few people who've accomplished more through a movement than them too. I'm not sure if their methods are outdated, but they might be worth a good read.

This is actually something i've thought about several times.
There's the obvious, vote with your money and with your vote. I tend to try and adhere to that when it comes to where I buy stuff. And i try ot make it count with my vote, but ugh, the 2 parties in our next local election are making it a case of shit sandwhich vs douche.
But as for making noise so that the issue is brought forward and people are more educated/aware of the issue and its implications... it's not very easy.
