Happy to see Nadal and Fed at #1 and #2. Very happy to see Thompson at #23 now. Fuck Kyrgios and fuck Tomic though, I refuse to watch them based on being poor sportsmen. I wish they we're more mature in their matchplay as I want an Aussie based idol my young tennis son can watch with me. Alas Fed and Nadal and somewhat Thompson remain our viewing players.
Also on the ladies side loving Barty being at #20 now and Gavrilova at #25. Good times seeing young Aussie ladies getting up there. My daughter is a bit young to follow tennis yet but she's more into dancing so far...time will tell.

hopefully feverer wins basel and plays paris and nadal skips both, so the year end no. 1 will remains interesting at the wtf.

Oh man, we have a tennis thread? Going to be in here constantly during the three Grand Slams that are on ESPN. The French Open gets little to no airtime on NBC, so...

I still read article summaries of Tomic and Kyrgios but what a shit show performance at Vienna Tomic put out. An underarm serve for fucks sake. What a tosser.
Federer skips Paris which means Nadal is year end no.1 even if he doesn't play another match this year.

Pretty sad to read about this back injury causing this. He had a major shot at #1 again, hey at least Nadal gets a one up on Fed.
By Mariosalic Go To Postlet's hope for one more spanking at the WTF then.Nadal got scared
A year ago Roger Federer was a spectator not a warrior, and far from convinced he could properly recover from knee surgery as he prepared quietly at home in Switzerland for his return to the Tour a couple of months later at the Australian Open.
On Saturday, the reigning Australian champion plays in his eighth semi-final of the year and brings with him a record eight Wimbledon titles (his 19th career major), and five other belts from 11 tournaments, having won 52 of 56 matches, including three this week. That’s a comeback, probably the greatest in the history of tennis.
The GOAT
is the new crop just wack or is Fed just that good to still be running things.
can Nadal (my personal fav back when i really followed tennis but i saw he lost the other day) and Djok still bang with him?

mix of everything.
Federer came back from a long injury and sort of reinvented his game. he plays at a really really high level again. his style of play is much more sustainable into old age than Nadal's is. The generation behind him has been beaten so badly over the last 5 years by the big 4 that they never really developed and the next-next generation is not quite ready yet but looks promising but there isn't really anybody that could beat him consistently yet.
Djokovic has been on quite a slump since he won Roland Garros and then got injured and has been out for months, he's still rusty, we don't really know how good he still is. Nadal has made quite the comeback of his own and he can beat anybody except Federer on fast hard courts.

LeBron too.
80s guys to strong. Best generation.
90s suck.
Serena really is the GOAT of tennis tbh, it's a shame she doesn't have a rival anymore. Her dominance of the sport is just crazy.

This aren't the days of Graf/Seles/Capriati/Hingis/aka where you had alot of competent top female players.
I swear whenever Nadal, djoko, fed and super saiyan Murray play each other its literally like watching demi gods play tennis. The power the precision, even when they're not at the absolute best it's still crazy.
