Generally think landing page could use a big revamp:
- Segregated area / separate page for followed threads as per Esteemed Member Jesal's suggestion.
- There are links for Sports, Life &Entertainment, plus buttons underneath for Gaming, Film and Music. This doesn't make a lot of sense.
- Having areas for mod-pinned threads and most recently updated threads is fine but could be better visually delineated.
- Cocktail bar

I've a good spread m8, probably an excellent spread if we're honest.
Tbh tho its's a design issue where people that are poor and probably without a fixed abode have to view the site on their phone and so the space just isn't there. As men of the people Jes and I understand this.

also the gaming, film etc sections should be tags, instead of subsections. idk

I re-designed the homepage. Hopefully everyone will find it a bit friendlier to use and more catered to their needs by propping up subscription threads and Who Quoted Me to the top of the homepage.

Was gonna add a toggle for letting users flip promoted/most recent with subscriptions/who quoted me, but ran out of time. Will try and sneak it in tomorrow, if that works.
i like having subs and quotes out like that, it works well on mobile but it's really hard to scan on wider viewports

I'd move 'who quoted me' to the very bottom, and reduce the size of the 'welcome back' message significantly.

this post was when looking at the mobile version... on desktop now and i honestly cant find my way around the front page. like at all.

1. The welcome back is unnecessary. It takes up space and I don't think anyone has an alt on this site so I'm not sure what purpose it serves.
2. Quoted section should be at the bottom

I have my threads I'm subbed too which takes priority, and then if something recent peaks my mind I'll look at that next. I really don't care for Disney+ thread, Formula 1 or Death Stranding so although it's #firstworldproblems, scrolling all the way down to see shit that I might be interested in is a bit annoying.

Browsing on a normal monitor just makes no sense layout or space wise. So much wasted space and so much scrolling just to get to the recent threads. There is no real consistency to the way everything is separated on the front page either, at least my eyes gets confused every time I've looked there today.
Really wish there was a way just to see more threads quickly. As in, maybe just have a small link on the front page saying: all active threads, that gets you to a forum layout like this https://slaent.com/forum/life/ but with all the sections combined. Everything looks so big and clunky the way it is now.

I will say this, I am glad this site is unique and you try to do things differently. Every other forum looks exactly the same and it's boring as fuck after 20 years of being on message boards (jesus christ I'm old)

Alright, adjusted the homepage based off feedback. Kept the things people seemingly liked, and moved stuff around people seemingly did not. Also upped the recent thread count by a bit so more threads would show up. Let me know if this works.
A lot easier to navigate now for sure. Still feel like everything is about double the size it needs to be, but I guess that is the style.
Oh good I wasn't going nuts when I opened mobile earlier this morning. I agree you could still decrease the current size and spacing a skosh tho.

If I've subscribed to a thread it wont show up in the 'Most recent threads' section even if it has been posted in more recently than any other topic. I subscribe to the footy threads but if I have to go all the way down the page to get to it there's not much point in subscribing.

Yeah, since more recent threads were added and subscribed was moved to the bottom, it takes a weird amount of time to get down to it. Maybe just lob it on its own page? Cause I imagine if it's at the top people will be unhappy too
