they are both there, I personally made the requests quite a while ago.
Man, this place is really poorly laid out / lacking in basic features / seems unlikely to actually have any of that addressed.
I said this in the programming thread, but I'll post it here too. I'm a game developer without a lot of IT and web programming experience, but I'll help where I can.
By EarthBound64 Go To PostMan, this place is really poorly laid out / lacking in basic features / seems unlikely to actually have any of that addressed. They're working on it and have constantly updated it without any external revenue from ads, unlike with NeoGAF. I think they'll address this and more as they can. Just be patient or simply leave if you don't care for it.
Would be cool to have a highlight color for when someone has quoted you specifically. GAF Mobile had that and was really really handy.
Have the devs here ever thought about separating gaming into its own section, like the sports one is? I feel like lumping it in with entertainment is ultimately going to have to many topics in it.
It's in the pipeline, just gotta make sure that any threads that get made in Gaming also show up in Entertainment. Also need to adjust the UI to support it.

That's cool. Just want to throw this out there, you have a really snappy site here. On both mobile and desktop, it runs very, very well. I can tell it's well programmed. If this site becomes more populated, I hope your servers hold and you're successful. Good luck to everyone involved. You're all very talented.
Seems the cover image upload doesn't upload on Win10/Edge. Just used Chrome to complete an upload instead. Shoot me but Edge is my preferred "browsing" browser.
I don't know if this is the right place for this but this is the thread I could find. Feel free to delete it or ignore it if it's not the right place or interesting.
Suggestion to reduce the number of clicks and improve usability, assuming the different forum links (S, L & ENT) are more used than the search tool. That top menu could become a menu list if more subforums are created inside those:
The search field itself would supersede the menu when you click on the magnifying lens:
I don't know if it's interesting or simply feasible considering I've read you've already been working for a while on the search tool and you guys probably already have in your heads how you want it to be.

By reilo Go To PostNoted. I'll see if I can something in tomorrow. Easiest way is to capture a few GIFs.
I believe SY made this.
Shows how to add FF to ignore.
Forgive me FF
A different color and notifications when you get quoted would be useful.
And what Acidote said. Having the submenu always visible would be way better than clicking for a submenu to appear.

When your're in a thread there should be a "back to forum" button somewhere. So we don't have to press 2 times (the three lines and then the foru part name) when we could just press 1 time ("Back to forum").
:)
:)
Firstly I just want to say great work on the site so far. Having started visiting the site regularly after the recent GAF news, I've already seen some user requests implemented (bottom page navigation) and others in the works. Very cool to see feedback taken into account and the site improved at such a pace. The base for the site is excellent, and although I wasn't sure on the thread design at first (there seemed a little too much blank space to each side of the posts), after a couple of days I've already adjusted.
I have a couple of suggestions, but these are mostly small things:
1. It'd be nice to be able to see total post numbers for each thread in the forum view, and maybe view count too, although post count is definitely the more important of the two.
2. In the thread itself, it would be nice for each post to be numbered. Although we can permalink posts already, it'd be convenient to be able to refer to "Post 251 in the ___ thread" etc during discussions.
3. Tooltips throughout the site would be useful from a UX perspective. For example when hovering on the speech bubbles that lead to PMs, it'd be nice to have a "Private Messages" hover appear, the same for new thread, permalink etc.
4. As mentioned by others, highlighting of posts where you get quoted would be very welcome.
Those are all I can think of right now. Very much liking the design of the site, especially on mobile.
Edit: Added quote highlighting after seeing that suggested by others. Would be extremely useful.

By RoyalJCC Go To PostA different color and notifications when you get quoted would be useful. This needs to be the first thinking implemented, along with a gaming section separated from Entertainment.
Also something I think the forum should have, but I’m not sure if it’s possible here:
Quote parts of a post. Select the paragraph/part you want and hit quote to quote just the selected part. It’s a pain to delete entire texts just for one line or something.
Would it be possible to have an option to change font size on the mobile site? It’s a bit small for my tastes at the moment. (I’m getting old, my eyesight is only getting worse). Also, I’m sure someone might have mentioned this already, but a scroll-to-bottom button at the top of the page would be nice. Aside from that, loving the general forum design. Very easy on the eye!
Only thing that i feel like I am really missing right now is an option to subscribe to threads. Would make coming back to what you were reading between topics easier.
Here are my suggestions, even if most of the things have already been mentioned:
- Quote highlighting and maybe some kind of notification when you get quoted
- scroll to bottom / scroll to top buttons
- A refresh posts button at the bottom. It made GAF really convenient on mobile/Tablets
- thread subscriptions
- post and page counts for each thread in the forum overview
- Navigation bar at the bottom
That’s all I can think of for now. Other than that I really like the design and the features :)

My suggestions right now:
- A way to add bullet points. Maybe Markdown?
- Subscribed threads (Everyone is asking for this)
- High density information mode. On desktop (fullscreen laptop) I have to zoom out to 80%-90% to make it confortable for reading.
- A way to jump back to the subforum while in thread

I'd love for an option to disable avatars. Also the option to change the colour of the navigation bar from red to something less punchy (black / gray). I also miss some kind of bread crumbs so that I can return the thread overview in the subsection I was previously in with a single click. Right now I have to open the burger menu and hit the section I want. It's one additional click, but it does feel like an inconvenience. Subscriptions have been mentioned by everyone, happy to hear those are being worked on.
One more aspect I liked on GAF was the "Your Posts" option which would let you quickly go back to where you last posted in a thread to see the discussion from that point forward.

If you have any browser specific bugs, please post them to the Github issues page!

Can we have a restriction on the amount of Yankquis and Lakers fans join at one time? Maybe some sort of firewall or lengthy joining procedure that takes 2 months for a Laker or Yankquis fan to join? Just wondering...
Was starting to quote every individual post but that’d be redundant so here goes a short update of what to expect in the future:
- Revamped search (see a page or two back for a GIF) — this is currently a blocker for the rest as I need to wrap up the search results UI
- Who quoted me along with quote highlighting
- Gaming sub forum
In no order maybe all at once:
- Darkness theme with more subdued colors
- UX improvements eg forums in navigation, tool tips
Sometime later because it requires some heavy architecture investments for stable performance:
- Thread subscriptions
- Refresh button
Sometime after that:
- Progressive Web App implementations
- Desktop notifications on new PMs
Some weeks it’ll feel like progress is slow and most likely it is because I also have a full time job, so I please ask for a little bit of patience but improvements will be coming and your feedback is always taken into account!

Thanks for all your hard work reilo! Really appreciate how responsive and transparent you've been. Who expected the implosion of one of the most popular message boards? Really says a lot that the site chugged along smoothly after all this new traffic.

Hello.
Mobile Slaent needs some work. Love that you guys have a mobile version, big reason I may stick around here. Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but when people post large pics or gifs it breaks mobile version's frame and posts continue the entire horizontal length of the pic out of frame where you cannot read it anymore.
Also in mobile, a shortcut at the bottom of threads back to the subforum we came from would be welcomed. Like, when reading a thread on Life, I don't want to have to go through the entire menu system to return back to Life topics again. edit: Looks like this could be a useful feature for desktop version as well.
Hope this helps, thanks.

Hey I dont know if this feature is coming. But it would be awesome to have colored posts like on NeoGAF. So when you post something or someone quote you, you can quickly spot it. Thank you!

Have you considered moving the Last Read/Last Post icons in the thread listing to the far left of the thread title? That way all the possible navigation options for a thread are located near each other. I already find myself clicking on "last post" a lot and it's easier on the eyes (to me at least) with those icons right next to the thread title. That way I'm not looking left at a thread, and then tracking my eyes right across the page width to the Last Post button.

What mobile browser are you using? I'm using a third party one (there's plenty of them that do this iirc) that allow you to scale the font to your desire.
I know that's not ideal but I use it for all my mobile browsing sites so it's pretty handy when there isn't a dedicated option on specific sites :)

New to this site and just wanted to tell the devs you've done a fantastic job. As others have said, a color when you're quoted would be great! Only other thing I would suggest is the ability to scale the font size. I'd love to see more on the screen at a given time. Again, great job. Looking forward to being a member!!
