MVP for sure will be that to start with. What I outlined is pie in the sky stuff to help users manage events pertaining to them on those three topics long term. That final vision is probably a ways away. Basic subscriptions need to happen sooner.
👌🏽
Also, I don't get a ton of time off, but in the spirit of community/free time, if you need an extra pair of hands on the dev side, HMU.

That'd be rad! Kibner has offered the same and I promised to open things up once I had this release out. I'm gonna work on making sure everything is installable very easily via an install script. I'll PM you two with details sometime today.
The ultimate goal has always been to open source things.

Sweet. Promise I won't burn this place down.

By Mega Man Go To PostAny progress on my iPad issue? No, sorry, didn't get a chance to last night. I'll check it out tonight. My guess is some bug with iOS Safari 8. Hard to tell since my iPad is on iOS 9. I'll load up a simulator tonight.

For some reason, twitter embedds with large images makes my screen shake. I noticed it the other day and thought I was just tired. But it's does happen.
Example:
http://i.imgur.com/9TSMilQ.gifv
Notice how when I scroll down to the embedded twitter with image, it starts with weird shakes from everything below that point. Even avatars
It doesn't seem to happen if I make my chrome window smaller (but it does full screen 2560x1440. Make the about window 2/3's of that and it doesn't shake)

Haha wtf. I potentially have an idea what it is. I think I am setting translateZ(0) in CSS somewhere to trigger GPU rendering but pretty certain we don't need it.
FYI, use "Share" to embed Imgur gifvs.

There's a limit to have many you can share... and it's like a 5 minute limit, had already shared some others that turned out to run too quickly or didnt show the problem off well.
Please steal somethingawful source code and get their direct link gifv embedder.
Thx.

Not hard. Kibner has expressed desire to help build that for us. So I'll be opening the repo to a few individuals slowly and eventually lead us to Open Sourcing the site.
By reilo Go To PostWooden, where did you read about the 10 minute limit? I can't find it anywhere on their FAQ.
Well after not uploading anything to imgur for about an hour, I just uploaded a gif and shared it. Then tried for a second one, which uploaded fine and all, but as soon as I hit share it said I needed to wait 8 minutes before I could share something again. It took about a minute or two to create the second gif... so I assume it was 10 minutes. I got it when trying yesterday as well.
Just try it out for yourself. Just tried again. First gif I shared is fine, second one says:
The files uploads fine, but the actually sharing part, which is required to embedded currently, there's a time limit on.
Can you try copying and pasting the link from the browser URL bar and embedding that? Try not going through their sharing mechanism.
By Woodenpapangus Go To PostPlease steal somethingawful source code and get their direct link gifv embedder.Tbh, some of the editor changes I want to make are features of that forum. Like the keyboard shortcuts.
Also smart-pasting of supported embed link addresses I.e. If link ends in .png/.jpg/etc., have it automatically wrapped in image tags. Do similar for YouTube, Twitter, and imgur links and other embedded sources.
Of course, those changes would have to be approved by Reilo and crew since there is the possibility of a reason that shouldn't be done.
Edit: Oh wow it works. I'm sorry for being an idiot, I swear it didn't yesterday without pressing share first. Maybe I accidentally opened the media icon instead of social.
That imgur frame around it tho :/
can we get http://gfycat.com/ support instead

gfycat and AudioBoom embed support added. gfycat will live under the Social Media embed.

By P-SY Go To PostI don't think i've ever seen twitch embeds, does that exist?Yep! You can most definitely embed a live twitch.tv feed. The editor supports it.
By Mega Man Go To PostAny plans for a refresh button at the bottom of the page? Would be cool.Would that be something wanted for desktop or just mobile? If just mobile, I wonder if there may be a way to detect when the user is still trying to scroll down and have it refresh from that? I use some mobile apps that support that, but have not tried to do anything like that for browsers.
Mobile, since keyboard shortcuts and modern browser design and mousepads/mice make that much less of a hassle. Refresh on mobile browsers is hidden behind a touch, and I think that's the issue.
Autoloading posts, I'm gonna say no to that, because it will involve pulling in posts via the client which I am hesitant to do. I can discuss with Sharp.

To be honest, it would be great for both mobile and desktop versions of Slaent. The less clicks I have to make to get my page refreshed the better, on desktop it obviously is not such a big deal with a keyboard. But on mobile(android here) it takes a scroll up, tap the corner, tap the refresh icon. Unless you are at the top of the page where the os auto refreshes upon scrolling up, something that is not possible when you are in middle or bottom of a longer page.
The way mobile GAF does it would be ideal but idk how difficult that is to implement. It just populates with new posts rather than refreshing the entire page. It's quicker and a lot of times the browser doesn't remember the spot I was at when I refresh so it saves me the time of scrolling.

I'll research with Sharp.
