Never imagined a scenario where someone will attempt to press both at the same time haha. The new editor should ease that pain, but you should apply those one at a time.
What I mean is that I highlight a word, press bold, but press underline after without highlighting again.
But I am looking forward to the new editing features, it will add some quality of life features that are highly appreciated.

Basically... you can now preview a thread cover before hitting submit. It will generate the image for you in the dimensions that it's supposed to be in on the fly, so you can have a proper preview.
You can do that shit and still you won't give me a mobile-grid for desktop, reilo?
Why you do this to me? It's because I'm hispanic isn't it

I have a future request. In the mobile version can we get a button in the right hand corner of the screen that will automatically scroll us down to the bottom of the page of threads? An example of what I am talking about can be found on the mobile version of Thecoli. I use it a lot when I just want to read the newest post in a thread and it saves me the trouble of swiping down.....
Making progress... A preview of the final UI for the new editor:
Once this piece is wrapped up, I should be able to move onto the other things on my list before long.
Also:
114 files changed, 2643 insertions(+), 1182 deletions(-)

Relio do u know what would be cool, is if you could make people aware when their names were mentioned in a thread?

if you had checked the github page, you would have known it's on his to-do list.
The new editor is done! However, there's a sizable list left to do before I can move this into production:
- Implement the editor as the new reply box
- Cross-Browser testing of the new editor
- Simplified/Improved mobile UX of the new editor
- Dark theme fixes
- Integrate CloudFront to serve static assets and images
- Re-factor Private Messages in the new framework
Overall, those above items shouldn't be too difficult to do so we should see this new release in the near future.

Ran into some bad issues with mobile last night, but I managed to re-think how I am handling stuff and now it works 👌🏻
Next up is fixing some Firefox stuff and testing in IE. I foresee that being relatively painless, and then it's the last bits of making the dark theme look right, which should also be straight forward.

Hi reilo, there's an ad that keeps popping up on mobile with a search bar, that it auto selects, takes control of my keyboard and scrolls me down to that point in the page.
It's making browsing and posting very difficult. Any idea why that happens?
It's an ad for Islamic Relief.
Edit: Ah I reported it using the options in the top right, so it shouldn't appear for me now, but will leave this here for your information.

Okay, yea, was gonna say there's a report option. If you see it again, take a screenshot and post it and I'll report it via the admin.
Just if you are above water in terms of numbers or if you need to start a donation page kinda thing. (I'd be glad to contribute)
Oh naw don't worry about that part at all. We'll never ask for donations but we do appreciate the offer.

We're starving vire, literally dying. I'll PM you my paypal info.
So. Hi. Damn.
This one took a while. But it's here. Phew.
I don't even know hot to adequately summarize how much effort all of this took. In short, it took four months and all of this: 166 files changed, 4373 insertions(+), 1962 deletions(-)
Yeah, that's a lot. I re-wrote the entire front-end like a madman. But I swear all of the effort was, in my opinion, well worth it. I'm pretty proud of the new editor and the UX improvements that come along with it. I'm really proud that we have proper embeds now from Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, Streamable, SoundCloud, MixCloud, Twitch.tv, and I'm probably forgetting some. Oh! Improved image embedding. You can now float your images left and right or keep them inline. Now more block images. Yay. All of the embeds will lazy load only when they become visible in the view, so it should save on bandwidth and performance.
As far as what else is here... A new homepage, for one. I quickly knocked that out tonight. It adds a few new niceties: you get six posts from each forum, ordered by a user's last posted date. Oh, and we also show the last post in the thread now. Homepage will be one of those things I'll always experiment with, so don't fret if you don't like it, chances are it'll change again. It's the one thing I've changed the most.
All of our assets and images (!) are stored on CloudFront. This is a pretty big deal as our assets and images will now get proper caching, with the added benefit of those living abroad being served these assets from a server near them.
Menu has been slightly tweaked.
Private Messages were slightly tweaked to incorporate the new editor.
All in all, with all this new re-write and the CDN stuff, the site should load a whole lot faster now, especially on mobile.
As always, there's probably bugs and things I missed, so please speak up with suggestions and comments and cries of outrage. I swear I take it all in and appreciate it.
I tested everything on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE, and iOS Safari and Chrome. I think there's some slight styling issues with a few buttons on Firefox, but I'll fox those later.

I'd like an option to send a PM to anyone from their page when you click on their names. Currently, it only has "add user to ignore list", lol.
Also, I'd like to see their posts for some reason.

Can you describe what you mean by lag? Images loading slow? Text editor is slow? I tested this thing extensively on a Virtualmachine which by nature are performance starved and haven't experienced any of this, so the more info you can give me the better so I can help trouble shoot.
So when I type, there's a delay between when I press a key and the character and the letter appearing.
it's running fast for me but it somehow double-posted a post i clicked submit on only once
edit: again. browser is chrome, on windows 10

But I will say I think I do like the changes, takes some getting used to, only thing I what I would like to change is being able go back to home quicker.
I haven't used SLAENT on desktop for ages but mobile looks cool. Text coming up a little delayed as I type.
quote, edit buttons as well as the top menu bar which includes the profile button, search, etc. do not show up on the dolphin browser on android
