A little sneak preview:
Basically bringing to life of the editor I gave a go of a year ago, minus the real-time WYSIWYG (which is what was so buggy and hard to dev). This one is completely written from scratch with my best programming practices, but it should give a hint of what I am striving for.
In short, it will support...
Your standard BB Codes that we have today (with blockquotes and pull quotes), YouTube, Streamable, GIFV and Twitch.tv videos, SoundCloud for audio, Twitter, and added formatting options for images to embed them in any way you see fit: full width, inline for your premface needs, left aligned to the text, right aligned to the text, and so forth. The ultimate goal is to make embedding/formatting quick and super easy. Also, and yes, the preview button is making it back.

Also, on another note, after the editor is out we will drop the And forum due to how little activity it gets. Any threads within it will be migrated to the most appropriate forum, which will enable me to increase the number of posts you see per forum on the homepage. Alongside that, I will be introducing the option to tag threads with a bit more specific subject: Podcasts, Film, Music, Television, Video Games, etc. for Entertainment, Basketball, Football, American Football, Tennis, etc. for Sports, Dating, Automotive, Finance, Advice, etc. for Life. Generic sub-tags such as Podcasts will also be available so users can tag a thread within Life or Entertainment as a Podcast. For example, So Well Spoken could live in Life and be a Podcast, which leads me to...
In addition to that, after the editor I'll be rolling out a revamped search that will give you the option to search by thread title, user, forum, date, and the aforementioned subtags. That way you can search within Life that have a Podcast tag as well (for example).
Lots more ideas floating about, but once this re-factor and re-write of the front-end code is complete it will open up bigger opportunities for some fresher ideas and improvements.
In addition to that, after the editor I'll be rolling out a revamped search that will give you the option to search by thread title, user, forum, date, and the aforementioned subtags. That way you can search within Life that have a Podcast tag as well (for example).
Lots more ideas floating about, but once this re-factor and re-write of the front-end code is complete it will open up bigger opportunities for some fresher ideas and improvements.
That is some good QOL shit. These features are some futuristic shit compared to the JP message boards and blogs I frequent.
I haven't determined how many per thread but they will come from a preset list since tags are purely managed by us. Of course, requests for additional tags will always be welcomed once that is rolled out.

Hence why providing the ability to scope it down a bit more will help.

I remember that it didn't do that before but either way...I'll just wait and see how things work after the revamped search.

- Private Messages re-write in the new framework. This shouldn't take too long

Reilo the bold/italic/underline is sorta broken right now. On latest Safari.
What happens is when I go highlight and bold a word, the bold goes through but when I click either underline or italics right away it does not format properly.
