Henderson does strike me as the type who would struggle to remember his house number, let alone log-in details :P

There's an issue with the user profile right now and I am actively looking to fix it. Hold tight.
FIXED!

This may be off-topic, but who is Social Media Manager on SLAENT? There is a trove of material that can be used for Twitter regarding the NFC Wildcard Weekend to tweet and get trackbacks/traffic. NFL gives fantastic global exposure and trolling the fails is amazing.
If we are about Sports, Life and Entertainment gotta have more activity on those fronts.

Added. Should be in public release soon after I knock out a few more features. Currently working on notifications.
reili my friend the search function is still not working as it should and now I can't find some posts I made. Pls can you fix it?
If you had made me a mod here then it would be working now

Hi Reilo,
I operate premfaces.com, a website where the users of Slaent upload faces. The guys here use the faces (mainly in the football thread) while posting, is there an API or an insert point I can use to update the football thread whenever a new face is created? Something along the lines of "A new premface has been created [insert image]".

Hrmm, no, not a public API, and that is unfortunately a lot of work and out of scope I have outlined for features. In the future I was gonna build something that would allow custom emojis per user that they'd upload and have control over, which might solve that issue. Question is whether that makes every emoji accessible to the users at larger or scoped to the user, etc.
iOS peeps running Chrome 48, can you confirm that you are experiencing this issue as well?

Been meaning to ask, always forget
FortuneFaded made the football thread title too long earlier, which meant no one could suddenly post in it. It was weird. I did not like it. I think fortunefaded should be punished.

I think I know what that issue is. Give me a few mins.
EDIT: Actually, I don't. How the fuck did he manage to do that? lol
He shouldn't be able to surpass the 140 character limit because that's guarded on the backend. What title did he use?

On another note, beta users for messages: I have updated it to keep track of unread messages. You should see a number now in the messages icon, which is now too large so I need to rethink how that's gonna look, but it should keep an accurate count for any unread messages you receive.
On your inbox, unread messages are highlighted.
Also, did some random fixes here and there, including some minor fixes for Search so it shouldn't throw errors anymore when searching for stuff like '?JC'.

I don't know either. I think he just edited in a longer thread title.
Hi all,
I have added a new boolean in your profile that is called Early Access. This boolean, if you choose to activate, will grant you early access to new features and improvements ahead of time, like for instance, messages. So if you want to jump into the messages beta, just go and toggle it in your profile at any time.
By opting into Early Access, you will see updates sooner that might not be quite ready yet for mass consumption. There is no mandate to participate or provide feedback, but any and all is highly appreciated it. For any future rollouts like that, I will make sure to mark it as beta in some form to avoid confusion.
Those that opted into the messages beta were automatically opted in.

Okay, some smaller updates:
You can now disable images to be rendered in posts from your profile:
And images now by default open in a new link.

This is cool and good. I know the site scales to mobile, and there isn't really a mobile version, but is it possible to at some point get that option to be for mobile only/gifs only?

It's easy to get around though so I'd have to query against the mine type and I gotta figure out if I can.
I'd love the home button on mobile to have more real estate, im constantly clicking the user cp one.

Yeah I do this too.
Any chance we can get an image resize function, similar to the way you can self-quote an image on GAF and it automatically resizes it?
Also the site doesn't run properly on my desktop
Using Firefox on W8, and the menus work fine, but when I try opening a thread it takes a good 30 seconds or so. Any ideas? Cleared cache and cookies.

Images link out now so they'll open in a new tab when clicked.
No idea for FF on a Windows phone. I can try researching it but resources are limited to test on them.

yo reilz, you are a webdev. our webdevs always twitch and run away when i suggest that links should open in a new page.
i don't understand.

Are the links to an internal page or external website? If the former, then they should always stay within your current tab. Links to external websites should link out. That's bad UX taking a user away from your site to another site within the same tab/window.
cheer for all the work, reilo.

W3C is against it
The W3c advocates not opening links in new windows, in fact, in Xhtml and in Html 5 the target attribute is not valid markup (update: the latest html 5 spec does in fact allow the target attribute but it is mainly considered useful for iframes).
The W3C logic is based on the idea that the user should be in control at all times and browsers all give the user the ability to open links in a new window or tab and forcing that upon them is generally confusing and takes control away from the user.
By Dipro Go To Postexternal.Yes, I'm aware of that (and didn't want us to add it before for that reason) but it seems like the majority of the people on our site disagree.
