I've noticed that quoting now destroys all paragraphs/line breaks and just puts all the text in one same line. Let me try to quote to show this:
By Kikarian Go To PostIt's an extremely little thing, but when you choose a tag such as "img /img" - The cursor doesn't automatically go into the middle for you to just paste the URL in - You have to do it yourself. It's just a little frustration of mine, and obviously not that much of a deal.
That was done on purpose because people had a disconnect when quoting a post and putting in their own line when it wasn't necessary.
Now just:
Add PM's
Add ability to disable gifs/images
Remove Randys mod powers
And slaent becomes GOAT

By Elchele Go To Postreilo, we need a multi-quote option, specially with the option to carry the quotes between pages of the same thread.pretty plsJust make a new post for each quote. The way this site is designed that works a lot better anyway.
Is everyone actually gonna hit an extra enter key after the quote tags or do I need to bring the margin back
I wish there wasn't an automatic line break when posting an image. I miss our premfaces being next to the text instead of under it.
By Kidjr Go To PostReilo is this site ram heavy because my iphone 6+ does not like it at all. There's a known bug with the iPhone 6+ causing sites to crash:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6565699
There shouldn't be anything specific to this site that is making it do that, however. We are doing some CSS3 stuff here and there, but it's all 3-4 year old spec stuff.
By GQman2121 Go To PostIs there anyway to see what you're typing on the mobile site when in landscape?Explain.
By reilo Go To PostI don't know what to tell you. I don't have an Android phone. Is it all pages or just this one?
It's all pages. Say I read the last post, go away, then come back and refresh it's like that - but if i load a new page in then it never happens. Strange.
I haven't updated my phone in awhile either so I don't think its that. It happens on both mobile data and WIFI.
Only CSS changes we added recently is the dark theme, and our CSS is hashed, so any change we add creates a new CSS file so I don't think it could be a caching issue? Maybe try that anyway... Clear your browser cache, maybe it has some odd caching store that's conflicting.

Thanks reilo, I'll keep you updated.
And an all round thanks for all the great work you, sharp and the mods are doing. Myself and the footy lads really appreciate the effort.

Having the same problem with Chrome on Android with their being occasionally blank posts.
But really I care more about the line breaks in quotes issue. It looks really odd.

By fadetoblack Go To PostHaving the same problem with Chrome on Android with their being occasionally blank posts. Can you all post what versions of Android/Chrome you're using? I'm Chrome on iOS so I haven't experienced it. Not sure why it would be different for Android.

By GQman2121 Go To PostYou can't see what you're writing. Is it my keyboard? You'd have to slide up in the area the keyboard isn't covering when that happens. It's a semi common thing onnsome websites

Using the same as Noal.
But the line breaks for me are still what JTS described at the top of the page, as I can see in your post that I quoted. Unless that's how you meant it to be.
It's getting annoying with users changing their profile name all the time, you can't tell who they are anymore.
My suggestion is that users who change their nickname within a certain timeframe (say a month) get banned a month or two.
Pls consider this.

Unless that's how you meant it to be.A small number of users complained that when you put in an extra line back after a quote, like this screenshot:
... made it look like that there was a double line-break. Two days ago, I pushed a change that fixed that. HOWEVER, the pattern that I saw was that it made it even worse:
By not having a default margin, quote boxes had no bottom margin and the following body was crammed right up against it. So I added the margin back. I might tweak it again to make it a bit taller, but that's the issue at heart. Removing the bottom margin caused a bigger issue than before.
Sure. It's mostly just annoying when somebody quotes something that is line-break format specific and it just gets all mashed together when quoted. I'm sure it'll get sorted when it gets sorted.
The only other suggestion I have is limiting name changes since it's becoming a real pain in the ass to know who is posting given the frequency that some people in footySLAENT in particular seem to change their usernames.

By FootballFan Go To PostWe still need ability to disable GIFs/Pics for mobile usersI agree. We are also very wasteful in terms of how much bandwidth we send out right now, both in terms of not compressing and in terms of not caching things like avatars at the browser level, since they always have the same URL for the same image. I have a litany of grievances like this, as reilo will tell you :)

Also, it looks like the issue where quoting changes the contents of posts still isn't completely fixed...

Aye it's the only way, dy.

By fadetoblack Go To PostAye it's the only way, dy.Steam lets people change their name and nobody cares because you can see a history of their last ten. It's not a big deal. Storing history would also prevent the only thing I'm actually concerned about, which would be someone taking someone's real account name while they were switched for a joke / ban bet / whatever.

FWIW, if you really care about identifying one particular user, I'm pretty sure there's stuff in the CSS that's dependent on their unique user ID... so you can probably make all their posts blink with a few minutes' work. Seriously so many ways of dealing with this that don't involve restricting functionality.

6 months for two time offenders
Life for 3 strikes.
Dunno if this is a lot to ask for or not but would a per device dark theme toggle be possible?
It's not a big deal really, I'd just rather have the dark theme on my phone and the light theme on my laptop.

Hasn't worked Reilo. It always seems to be the first 4/5 posts after refreshing. If somebody has quoted, then the quote is messed up as well. Either missing totally or cut off text. Thanks for the suggestion though.

But can we permaban rvy then instead of the name change limits?
I'd be ok with either tbh
I changed it once to a variation of my username (Wahabilung) and kept that for like 2 months. That's less than I changed my GAF username!
Also stop ignoring me Reilo.

Not sure if you can help or if it's an issue on my end but I can't seem to see posts made by the user Lambda.
I don't have him on ignore and when I click the arrow next to his name when someone quotes him it takes me nowhere.
He confirmed on FootballSlaent thread that I'm not on his ignore list.
