AD is number 1 right?
By KingGondoI don't.By giririsssOwned portland.I still think we get in ahead of you guys, but it won't be easy.
But there's 2 good reasons that everyone should hope that you don't.
1. They won't have to see FT parade play off games.
2. If Kevin Durant misses the playoffs it will be the impetus for a large push to fix the stupid play off seeding system.

So Kobe has a torn rotator cuff. Not sure how long he'll be out. Oh and I wouldn't be surprised if the Nets destroyed us tonight. We seem to be awful against Eastern teams this year for whatever reason, especially when that team has a strong inside presence.

I think Kobe will have to decide whether he wants to tough it out this season or actually be a factor next season. It's the kind of injury he can easily aggravate if he keeps trying to push through the pain.
He'll definitely be scrapped from the ASG, which is great for the young guys who deserve to start.
RE: Phoenix and OKC. The Suns right now are 8 games over .500. Assuming they go merely .500 the rest of the way (which is possible, considering their West-heavy second half and their brutal road trip to end the season), they are a 45 win team. If they overachieve even the slightest bit, OKC will have to play at the pace of Portland/Memphis/Dallas for the rest of the season to squeeze in with 50 wins. I'm not saying it's impossible, but they may have dug their hole a little too deep. Even if they do make it, will Westbrook and Durant have anything left for a long playoff run? They put everything they had into last night's game to squeeze by a pretty good Wiz team, and they have to play teams that good every other game in the West.

We already knew that though. He's getting a second MRI because the first was inconclusive, the cast is there as a precaution I bet.

Possible. Either way more games without our best bigs.

Lots of home games against teams from the East.
If we can get to February 1st at or above .500 we should be fine. We're 22-20 with 5 games left this month, including a home game against Minny and a road game against the Knicks. Win one of the remaining 3 @ATL, @CLE, or @MEM and we're 25-22 with 35 games left. If that happens we'd need to go 25-10 the rest of the way to reach 50 and we only have 14 away games remaining after January (and 21 at home).
Should be doable without further injuries.

You'd only need to go at a 58 or 59 win pace to make the playoffs? Should be doable, he says, like it's not a fucking thing /rolleyes.
I guess that would match their record of last season, but OKC is not as good of a team as last year, if we are being honest.

They've got another 4 home games to go before they go on the road, and none of them are b2b's for them, and some are for their opponents. They could be 30 - 18 before they see GSW on Jan 31.
Suns stretch breaks down (from today) as:
38 Games remaining
17 Road Games | 21 Home Game
11 East | 27 West
13 under .500 | 25 .500 or over
Only thing of any concern in that break down is the number of .500 teams. But that happens when you play in the west. Considering the Suns probably have a big trade in them...
Interesting side point I had never thought of, but heard on Grantland, would someone like Golden State / Portland / Memphis, who might play OKC if OKC get the 8th or 7th seed, intentionally lose games to Phoenix, so that OKC miss the play off's?

I guess that would match their record of last season, but OKC is not as good of a team as last year, if we are being honest. What evidence do you have for that? We're 12-6 in games in which KD and YNB are healthy and both play. That isn't much below a 59-win pace. And as I explained in my earlier post, the schedule softens up a lot after January.
And if you're making the argument based on roster I really don't know what to tell you. I really hope we can overcome the reduction in Perk's minutes or the losses of Derek Fisher and Caron Butler. I don't know how we can possibly survive.

Suns play at the Spurs the second to last game of the season. I expect Pop to rest everyone important no matter what (assuming they've clinched a playoff spot), but I have to think he'd enjoy trolling the Thunder too. :(
Of the three you mentioned, I could see the Dubs avoiding us since we're so much more experienced than they are, but I know the Grizz aren't scared plus they'd have HCA.

8/10.
By reiloWhile the Kings still are figuring out the tempo they want on offense, coach Tyrone Corbin would like the team to aim for elite play on defense.
Entering Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, the Kings had played 17 games under Corbin, and their opponents shot 46 percent, the seventh-highest percentage allowed in the league since Dec. 15.That would be better than the Kings’ defensive performance in the season’s first 24 games under Michael Malone. The Kings held opponents to 43.9 percent shooting, eighth best in the league, before Malone was fired.http://www.sacbee.com/sports/nba/sacramento-kings/kings-blog/article7917000.html
DERP
Not only is this hilarious due to Malone's firing, it's hilarious because the team's bench is awful defensively and Corbin has no chance at that goal. He'd have to go all Thibs and play the starting unit 40 minutes a night.
Phoenix needs only to play a little better than they have to really keep OKC at bay and out of the playoffs. PHO has more control over the situation but I still wouldn't confidently bet on it.

By KingGondoSerge was better last year than this year by a not-insignificant margin, Thabo was a good 3 and D compliment and better defender than whatever the hell you got now at the SG position, Reggie Jackson hasn't made the strides he needed to (especially with Westbrook out for as long as he was) and is a net-negative defensively (much worse than last year in that regard), and you got all of your injury concerns lingering.By reiloYou'd only need to go at a 58 or 59 win pace to make the playoffs?
