By Zeus Ex MachinaI rather be watching celebrity bowling right now…….Its been much more entertaining. French Montana is in the finals and he's never bowled before. Pretty sure he's high off his ass too.
I don't even think no Melo would have mattered, the Lakers tank is scary. Lakers will probably get Okafor and then him and Randle wind up being hall of famers. That sounds like some fucking Laker shit...

Edit: fans throwing shit on the court when their team is winning by 20. Now I've seen everything.

Yea obviously. But if they thought this team would catch an L against Tank Commander Clarkson they really aren't all that bright. Called a Knick blowout from the get go.
Don't stress, when Melo shuts it down the real tank will start. For now, enjoy your 5-2 post London record.

I hope you enjoy watching Kaminsky getting dunked on all next season too.
It hilarious since Knicks signed all the D-League guys the theme of the team has been "We just played hard".
It's amazing how playing hard is considered a rare trait nowadays, Kenny Smith had a great take on it, blaming AAU ball for kids not learning to take more responsibility and give full effort.

There is definitely effort on the defensive end. Offensively they're executing the offense. I gotta say kicking out JR and Dalembert and replacing them with hungry guys works. Smith is a pretty great fit and Melo is making tons of good decisions.

Yes, the problem with Sammy, Garbagenani, Calderon, Quincy Acy, Cole Aldrich, Prigs, and Early is that they don't play hard because of that AAU taint.
By masudAnd French is your champion.

It sure as hell didn't help. Also Early was sent to the D league and did well. He had 2 double double games. I wonder how he will do once they shut Melo down.
By IWMTB19None of those guys played in AAU other than Acy and Aldrich.
I was talking about them not playing hard. I have no idea who played in AAU

By Dark PhaZeblog a bull "signing pau gasol was a mistake"Trade him to the Mavs please.

Rarely see an SB nation blog with such raw talk
I'm pretty much against that sentiment though. Gasol has flaws, but the defense isn't bad because of him so much as because Joakim has nothing left after giving up his body last year. He's always been their anchor defensively and he's been shit this season due to fatigue and injuries.
By IWMTB19I'm not linking it to the Knicks, ye of little reading comprehension. I'm saying young guys in general don't give 100% because of the AAU structure. With all the stars on a team it's rare to get a Jordan mentality of "give 110% for everything" and star talent because on AAU teams everyone is a star and they just "do their assignment".By The FrankmanIt hilarious since Knicks signed all the D-League guys the theme of the team has been "We just played hard".

I mean the paragraph break there and topic change kinda meant something. GOD FORBID a guy talks about something other than their team here.

What players drafted in the last three years don't play hard? Anthony Bennett, maybe Alex Len, maybe Meyers Leonard, and? Laziness or lack of effort doesn't really seem to be a problem among young players.
By IWMTB19Alex Len. The guy that has come back from a series of horrible injuries to earn a starting spot on a play off team. Right.
I'm talking about star players... Kenny Smith was bringing the point up on Inside The NBA with Charles Barkley a week or so ago.
Here's the link, I do get the point they're making. Add that to the fact you get so many one-and-done/two-and-done guys nowadays younger talented players don't really learn the game or even get what it means to play hard. Obviously with the workload most guys like LeBron have to pick their spots because they have so much responsibility, but how many teams could take the next step if all their guys "played hard" or gave more effort?

Uhh, maybe Brooklyn, the Nuggets, and the Pelicans? And those teams have issues that go beyond effort (Ryno has no physical tools, Gordon and Reke are dumb as shit). And that's about it. Teams in the NBA play hard. There are some lazy players obviously, but there were lazy players in the past as well like Joe Barely Cares. I really can't think of many instances right now where effort is an important problem.
Players that don't give any effort don't get any playing time. If there's a team that has an entire line-up that doesn't give any effort, then that coach is gone the next day and one that they play hard under is brought in.
I don't think playing hard is as much of an issue as developing skills and fundamentals.
There are too many guys coming in who can't shoot, or guys who can shoot and do nothing else. And I know there's no "fundamentals" tracker that we can objectively use, but as an eye test it seems like it's the case.

Well I guess it's a good thing the all-star break is soon because who knows how long Rondo will be out.
I'm pretty sure the Mavs will be ok without an average at best player for a while.
Mavs with him on the court are a 106 Ortg and a 98.7 Drtg, where did you get your numbers?

By DominicanPowerThe Mavs were better off letting Monta handle the ball. It's not the offense that's going to be the problem.
Buried in the ESPN article about Rubio coming back tonight is Saunders saying that these 3 months off May be a blessing in disguise because Rubio has completely re-made his jump shot? I don't know if I believe it, but if so, dude's going to be a top 5 PG.
By fertygoMore ridiculous: 2013 game 6 spurs or last night Seahawk?Imma have to go with last night. I've seen things happen like 2013 game 6 in a normal game.
I've never seen a long reception circus catch, followed by a tackle at the 1, a crazy passing playcall with a great interception (by an undrafted rookie, no less), and then a brawl breaks out?
Amazing.
...
In basketball-related news, this is a huge couple of weeks for OKC. Home game against Orlando tonight, followed by two games against the Pels (away Wednesday, home Friday). Winning both would do wonders for our confidence and playoff chances.
Next week is the Clippers @ home on Sunday, @DEN (ugh, high altitude on a b2b) and then the Grizz on Wednesday before the All-Star Break. We need to go 4-2 at least. Less and less margin for error, especially since it appears the Suns aren't going away.

I don't know if I believe it, but if so, dude's going to be a top 5 PG.Many months ago, the Wolves hired a full time shooting coach, the man that worked with Muhammad last summer. If he can bring you Shabazz, 40% 3 point shooter, I'm willing to believe he can remake Rubio's jumper. And by all accounts, Ricky's shot looks a lot better, a lot more arc on it, but we'll see in mere hours.

We SHOULD beat Raptors, OKC, Mavs, Rockets, Spurs, Kings, and Bulls... but I could easily see us losing half of those. That's going to be scary. I'd be shocked if we beat the Cavs, especially since they're hot, we almost always lose there, and Mozgov has dominated his matchups with Blake and DJ recently.
By Dark PhaZeNuggets about to give up a first for BropezBut they're asking the Nyets to take JaVale and Hickson, and they'd owe them more than they'd owe Bropez next season.

It's a salary dump for BKN. Taking Denver's deal would defeat the purpose unless that late first-rounder outweighs paying another huge tax bill next season.
The Nets need to take their medicine.
