I'll be honest it looks like Harden specifically drives ugly to get foul calls. It looks like he practices it. I can't stand watching him for that reason.

I can't stand Harden honestly, last time I watched him play it looked like he was being mauled by an imaginary bear on his drives. Howard I just find kind of gross for his off court jailbait ass chasing.
To each their own, with regards to Harden. I'm sure OKC would love to have him back hah

Honestly… I haven't given it much thought yet. Just don't want to get knocked out by the Mavs in the 1st round. That's my worst nightmare.
I'd like to see how the team starts to play again with Tjones back and if Dwight ever decides to get fully healthy again.
A part of me wants revenge on Portland haha
At the start of the season we played with some grit, and McHale was giving out time to Canaan and Papanikolaou. I figured maybe we had improved defensively, and maybe, just maybe McHale was more open to testing out lineups. We seem to have regressed in both aspects, and I'm just really worried that we haven't learnt anything from that Portland series. Whoever we go up against is going to figure out our Plan A, and McHale's going to scramble to find a Plan B during the series instead of making those adjustments in the regular season, just like he did last season.
TJones is a much better driver and finisher than Beverley, so I'm hoping he takes pressure off Pat and Harden. We'll see how it plays out, but right now I still can't shake the feeling we're 2 or 3 pieces away from doing anything of note.

Although this jewel still shows he doesn't comprehend what has happened.
Is it though? Durant and Westbrook are awesome. Ibaka would get some good minutes on some of the teams but would anyone else on their roster get any minutes on any other top 9 team in the west? Maybe Adams to cheap shot someone to get them to throw a punch?

The bottom line is that we lost tons of close games when KD and YNB were hurt and now we're in a virtually unprecedented hole. The situation has ratcheted up the pressure on everyone, so every game feels huge and every loss feels disastrous.
A big part of the problem this year in my opinion is that there are so many guys who are involved in trade rumors or in the last year of their deals, so there isn't that buy-in or trust among teammates. Lamb, Jackson, Jones, and Perkins are all probably gonna be moved before the deadline.
Another problem is that Brooks still hasn't improved his rotations or lineups. Roberson isn't bad but he's completely one-dimensional. Morrow isn't getting nearly as many minutes as he should (he should be starting and playing 20-25 minutes per game). For every good game Waiters has, he has 2 or 3 bad ones. He needs to be treated like Lamb--take a bad shot and get benched. But for some damn reason he's allowed to put up 15 shots per game. Perk still gets minutes. When Adams was hurt we should have just gone with a small lineup and started Ibaka at center.
A trade is the answer right now. We need to cut the fat from the roster and make a playoff push with a shorter rotation of guys who know their roles.
But Perkins (.023 WS/48!! while playing the same MPG) and Ibaka are worse this year, Reggie Jackson has a foot out the door and looking for his max payday, Andre Roberson is dog shit, Steven Adams is overrated and Thabo was always really fucking good defensively for you.
By reiloBut Perkins (.023 WS/48!!) and Ibaka are worse this year, Reggie Jackson has a foot out the door and looking for his max payday, Andre Roberson is dog shit, Steven Adams is overrated and Thabo was always really fucking good defensively for you.Ibaka has thrived when played as a center in small lineups, but the only person involved in the Thunder who doesn't see that is Brooks. A big reason his numbers are down is because of how he's being utilized (hovering around the 3 point line on offense). He didn't suddenly become a worse player.
My ideal rotation:
YNB-Reggie
Morrow-Waiters/Lamb (Roberson in emergency situations only)
KD-Morrow
Ibaka-Collison
Adams-Ibaka-(Perk in emergency situations only)
Makes a lot more sense than what we currently do.

The key difference between this Thunder team versus last year's Thunder team is that KD didn't miss half the season.

I don't think Waiters should play over Anthony Morrow. Morrow is a limited player, but at least he stays his lane and isn't terrible.

See: the Lamb situation, Perk still getting minutes, Waiters taking minutes from Reggie and Morrow, only going small in desperate circumstances, having matchups dictated to us in spite of having two of the best players in the world and a versatile 4/5 in Ibaka...
That's a weird Brooks thing I don't get.
I could go on.
What exactly is the Lamb situation? That he sucks and Presti desperately wants to trade him so he needs to play him in hopes of him maybe having a good game and fooling Billy King into biting?
By HasphatsAntsThe key difference between this Thunder team versus last year's Thunder team is that KD didn't miss half the season.Yeah but even with KD, they haven't been exactly amazing. They'd make the playoffs if he was healthy the whole year without a doubt, but I don't think they'd be a top 3 team in the West. They may yet make the playoffs, as the Suns and Pelicans are still really young and mostly inexperienced (though the Pelicans' issues are more due to poor coaching and weak guard play), but I don't see them beating the Grizzlies or Warriors in a 7 game series even if the whole team is healthy.
Reggie Jackson was a serviceable facsimile of Russ in a pinch. Perry Jones is not the same for KD.
Anyway, I also wanted to say that I'm still in awe of Kyrie's performance last night. Maybe the most impressive thing is that he scored 55 while locking down Lillard on defense. Granted, Lillard hasn't been himself lately, but it was still a dominant performance on both sides of the ball. On top of that, his shot count was fairly deceiving, as he did try many times to feed Love and Mozgov, but Love couldn't score to save his life and Mozgov couldn't finish under the basket for most of the night (though I did like his fadeaway jumper late in the game). Kyrie HAD to be selfish if they wanted any chance of winning that game. I still wonder what would have happened if the Clippers hadn't traded for Mo. If they'd drafted Kyrie, they likely wouldn't have gone after CP3 so hard. We wouldn't have hired Doc Rivers most likely, as that was mostly on the insistence of CP3, but we would still have likely fired VDN eventually when his limitations were made more clear. I'm not sure if they'd have gotten rid of Sterling, though, as Rivers and Paul were 2 of the loudest mouthpieces behind the movement to get rid of him. Regardless, things happened the way they did and there's nothing that can change that now. I'll just keep pulling for Kyrie as an honorary Clipper (and probably the only "Clipper" that will sniff a championship in the next 10 years).

Thibs is a great defensive coach and has been super influential, but he's a poor man's Pringles (with offense and defense reversed) overall with all of his other faults.
By jjasperWhat exactly is the Lamb situation? That he sucks and Presti desperately wants to trade him?He doesn't suck, he's just maddeningly inconsistent.
But regardless of what you think of him, my problem is that Lamb has the shortest leash of all time while guys like Waiters are free to take horrible shot after horrible shot. There's no consistency with regard to discipline or playing time being affected by on-court performance. See also: Perkins, Kendrick.
I'm not gonna waste much breath defending him since he's gonna be gone soon anyways.

I feel like Thib's teams have always overachieved in the playoffs. Unless you want to argue that Derrick Rose-less Bulls teams of the last three seasons were supposed to do better than past the semis?

The only real concern for the Thunder with regards to making the playoffs is that AD is a Shōnen hero capable of sudden power level increases and it's not good to put yourself at risk for that by being close to the Pelicans right now.
But the big deal for OKC to beat out Dallas for the 7th seed so that they don't get smashed by GS in the first-round and that's looking less likely now.
They really should be better though. Ibaka's normal stats are much worse, but he's now the best stretch big in the NBA in 3P% and he's second in at rim FG% defense so I don't know how much less effective he is... Roberson and PJIII are not good, but it feels like something weird is off with them

Here's the thing, given everything we know about okc management, are they really going to let Durant just walk out that door? I don't see Presti letting that happen or leaving it to chance. Either sign the extension by next year's deadline or... trade.

Getting blasted out of the building against a Wizards' team they were heavy favorites against is not good either.
And 2013 probably would have gone a lot better if Deng wasn't literally dying and unable to play.

Wasn't 2013 that year when the entire Bulls team starting lineup had some debilitating injury? Rose's MVP year they went to the ECF, and unless you're historically great like the Warriors are during this season (which the Bulls were not), I can't even consider that underachieving. Then in 2012 they lost to the Sixers in the first round after Rose tore his ACL in the first game.
