Yeah that seems good.

I'm wondering if it's possible to move the thread to that section. If not, that's okay.

I've been tempted to say the same thing about all the Azaelia Banks threads. She's barely a celebrity, she's not popular, yet every time she says something on Twitter there's a thread on GAF covering it. But people post in the threads and they go multiple pages so she's doing something right.
I'm sayin.. this chick is a D-list celebrity man nobody gives a fuck bout her fucked up opinions lol. might as well take my opinion and make threads on it too shit nigga damn
I hope her next album blows the fuck up, just to make the haters mad.

Damn, GAF's been going downhill for a while in more than one respect, but this is the first splinter forum I've seen that isn't hateful, pathetic garbage. Sweet design.
Anyway, I could certainly see why EL might feel poorly about a prominent moderator publicly saying that he and (presumably) the vast majority of his userbase are bigots, given that moderators' stated opinions tend to drive both the tone and content of discussions and discourage dissent - and I disagree, strongly, that it is bigoted to not want to knowingly sleep with a transgender person - but the way he handled that situation was so childish. I don't think he's a bad guy, from what I've seen, but if I may play armchair psychologist, given his openness about having previously been an overweight, out-of-shape nerd, I suspect he simply spent his formative years as a loner and so doesn't quite know how to handle himself now that he's in a place of slight e-prominence. It seems like he wanted GAF to be a place for everyone, yet the schizophrenia in the moderatorial policy ultimately made it a place for nobody.
Back on-topic, I'd like to call everyone's attention to the great African-American poet James Emanuel. He's a real capital-P POET, in the classical sense, so his potential audience may be slightly limited; however, he deserves attention because, well, he was absolutely GREAT at what he did, and he never really got any in his lifetime. He's a poet who has suffered from critical neglect, for a variety of reasons, but he was easily the equal of many great American poets of the last century. My friend wrote an obituary/posthumous appreciation for him back in 2013, take a look if interested: http://blogcritics.org/no-more-ghettos-on-the-death-of-james-a-emanuel-poet/

I don't get why the premise needs like a whole season? Upper middle class people problems I guess. Talk to the kid, kick the adult's ass and be done with it.
Snowy: On the topic of trans dating I'm not going to stake a claim one way or another about bigotry but I will say this: If your criteria for a SO is something either cis women/men fail at or not something you screen for on the first date, you might want to look into the fact that you're making excuses for yourself. Rather do some self-introspection into just why the concept bothers you.

Well, in my case, I'm fairly certain there may not be a person on the planet who's "right" for me, so it's kind of a non-issue.
But my main point would be that I suspect most folk are naturally heterosexual, not merely gynephilic or androphilic. But I won't get into it right now cuz, well, it's not germane to the topic.
What is germane: Read Emanuel, people! One of the finest American poets of the twentieth century, though he spent the last thirty or so years of his life as an expatriate in France.

I don't see the relevance here if we're mostly talking about those who pass that someone was already attracted to but upon learning the "trans" part, they're suddenly put off.
By SnowyDamn, GAF's been going downhill for a while in more than one respect, but this is the first splinter forum I've seen that isn't hateful, pathetic garbage. Sweet design. One of the key things we originally talked about when creating this forum is that we didn't want this place to be an EL hating/ gaf trash talking forum. We dont want to be the next opa-age or the bore.
We wanted to be above all that vitriol , and i think we achieved that to some extent.
The reason we ultimately left is because on how they moderated us, and it was time for change.
the original members here are nba fans and we have our very own unique identity, and i suppose it didn't jive well over there.
what you'll also notice here is that there's no one "EL" here. there's a what you call a "board" for decision making and directions.
a sense of checks and balance.
We have some plans on our pipeline to make Slaent a forward thinking, next-generation forum.
I like it here so far because there's not really modding, there's at atmosphere created first and mutual respect. And any trash talking in stuff like the NBA thread doesn't leave its confines but is accepted as part of that thread's nature.

Re: "to some extent", I'm sure it'll get better once the main chunk of GAF expatriates arrive and have had a chance to properly vent.
The fact that you can't discuss moderation on is weird. Definitely hope as we grow that it doesn't happen to us.

We're small so it's currently a non-issue but if we get to a much bigger userbase we plan on being as transparent and open about the decision making process as possible. Criticism of how the board functions won't be taken as personal slights.

Yeah I don't want to get back on the topic of the other place but community threads were just not left well enough alone. I can get wanting to stamp out trash talking of people outside the community but when NBA got closed again by an outside mod because someone couldn't handle the trash talk being thrown back at them, I was kind of flabbergasted. Then demodding Blackace because he dared re-open it? Or the closure of BCT/bans for basically lamenting the demodding of Mumei. Not to mention basically the imposing of mods on BCT because eyes needed to be on that thread for some reason? It just reeks of heavy handed paranoia rather than just letting communities self-moderate and have their own atmosphere. Sports involves shit talking, I don't like anything particularly sexist or homophobic but other than that, it's what makes sports talk fun. If someone engages in it and can't handle it in return, that doesn't mean the community is exclusionary, it means that person is a big baby.
That was the funniest bit of the whole Gucci thing... he was one of the most prominent in trash talk and insulting people, but it was like he wasn't in on the joke. Then one day he was "reformed" or some shit and snitched to an outside mod. There was a reason Blackace ignored him.

Well they do let communities boil on their own to at least some extent. strobogo in WrassleGAF had to go WAY off the rails before they finally stepped in and banned him, after several years of calling almost everybody in the thread dumb cunts in a dozen different ways. With NBA-GAF, I kinda got how they'd be bothered that the posters would so disrespect the authority/opinion of a mod just because he wasn't "their mod", but the shit in the BCT was just petty.

For some reason instead of someone actually asking Blackace for context about the situation, look what happened. And since you can't discuss moderation actions over there, well lol.

There are certain communities that are left to rot or get no attention. Or worse they turn into weird pedophile dens.

The moderation on the other site in general is terrible. Poor explanations for bans, little to no explanations for junioring, disproportionate bans for minority posters as of recent, as well as the prohibition for public constructive criticism of the moderation.
I mean... I'll remind the uninformed that I was juniored for having two video game music soundtracks open at once (or at least, that's the implication, as I still haven't received a full explanation from a mod). BUT HOLY FUCKING BACKAI IS STILL ALLOWED TO POST THREADS.
