like going in you're gameplan is "shutdown splash bros, the others cant beat us" and you execute your gameplan but still basically lose by 20
They didnt really shut them down. They bricked a lot of shots they usually make. Its like they were recalibrating for not having a shitload of wingspan everywhere they looked.
By unknown Go To PostWho had GS in 7 vs okc? You thought they were going to lose lol.
I picked them in six games
At least Iggy and Shaun will be free agents next summer
The warriors will replace their production with the likes of Eric Maynor and Terrence Ross

But they're losing Harrison Barnes
Could Kevin Durant have posted up Kyrie like Barnes did?

LeBron at podium. Alone... doesn't he usually have either Kyrie or Love with him? Or has he been there alone for awhile?

Cleveland made Harrison Barnes look like he earned that max contract from the Lakers. Draymond still trash
Well, that game mostly went as I thought it would, sans the terrible shooting by the Splash Bros.
Honestly, I don't think Cleveland has many adjustments in them. They just don't have the right personnel for this matchup. OKC was the only team to out-athletic GSW and Cleveland can't.
GSW switches everything which disrupts Cleveland's entire offense (PnR with Drive and kick). Only 21 3PA for Cleveland is an instant loss.
If Cleveland thinks they can play the same defense in game two, they'll lose by 30.
I guess they could go to a more traditional D and just hope Steph and Klay suck at shooting for 3 games. But they have no rim protection...
I guess Lebron could be more aggressive during the game but he'll just tire out by the 4th.
More than likely, they're outmatched.
Love that Iggy and Livingston are getting love, again. Iggy was masterful tonight, man.

Changes that should be made in game 2:
Delly to swap with JR Smith as a starter. JR looked like he didn't belong there and it wasn't because his shot was off. He doesn't cut, doesn't seem to understand spacing defensively or offensively, and is incapable of creating for others. Delly is better for this series as a starting two at every aspect of basketball. He can guard the wings better off any switches, actually understands how to manipulate the defensive holes by cutting for floaters, can toss oops off that action, understands how to give space to a post player, etc.
Irving/Delly/LeBron/Love/Tristan
Backup rotation of
Smith/Shump/Frye/Mozgov
Problem for Cleveland is there's almost no margin for error. Executed perfectly, they can win games, but I don't see any scenario that exists where they can ever have a comfortable lead, and any games they win will likely be in the 5 point spread range.
Perhaps even more shockingly, they might have lost more with Lue's rotations /x's and o's than they've gained with irving and love, which could result in them losing in fewer games than last year.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostChanges that should be made in game 2:Steph would destroy Delly on every switch unless the goal is to take Steph's knee out. Klay would post Delly up until he gets mad and headbutts him.

Nah. Any shot Klay takes that isn't a 3pt shot or a layup is a win for the Cavs and we all know its less about who is guarding Curry and more about whether he's feeling it or not. At any rate Delly understands where he's supposed to be on both sides which is 80% of the battle.
Curry winning back to back MVPs and rings while not getting a FMVP in either year would be such a strange historical note, lol.

he is unrestricted after next season ends
people keep fronting like he's locked up until 2018, 2019
everyone would use that as a knock on Steph but i don't think its a big deal. We all saw what happens when you try to play hero ball in the real NBA Finals.

it perfectly captures the greatness of the warriors. sometimes you need your other guys to gut you thru some small stretches.

During the regular season, Love gave up 90.3 points per 100 chances as a pick-and-roll defender, which isn’t good; in the playoffs, he’s given up 102.9, which is a calamity.
This has been a playoff-long swoon for Irving, as well: In the regular season, he allowed shooters an eFG% of 50.5; that’s ballooned to 59.2 in the playoffs.
