By Forever Go To PostSo does Kevin Love get to stay now?
they've got literally all of next regular season to try to find ways to increase his role
he needs to work on attacking closeouts all summer and he needs to work on his quickness
Warriors got a little away from their team offense, but that was because Cavs were jumping the passing lanes and Curry was impatient. I think, on some level, having Curry play off the ball so much through the year got him into bad habits. Team became increasingly dependent on players like Iggy and Livingston to run the offense, which Cleveland was willing to let those types take the shots.
The Cavs couldn't' score near the end either. They just hit more hero ball shots. Warriors screwed up by getting into that sort of battle.

Dean Ambrose will always be the real champ.
lol wtf???
damn.
Sunday's game averaged 30.8 million viewers. It was ABC's highest-rated NBA broadcast ever and the most-watched NBA game since the 1998 Finals, when Michael Jordan clinched his last title.
Just like I claimed yesterday, the hot takes are coming for Curry:
Steph Curry had the worst Finals performance by an MVP in NBA history - Fox Sports
Steph Curry had the worst Finals performance by an MVP in NBA history - Fox Sports
Of the 22 times a player appeared in The Finals the same year he won the MVP, Curry had the worst scoring average (more than a point lower than Malone in 1997), eighth-lowest assists per game, second-worst steals per game, second-worst turnovers per game (behind his 2015 performance), and worst field goal percentage.
All of those numbers can be explained away if you're committed to defending Curry. It's not his job to get steals. He made a ton of turnovers because the Cavs were trapping him and he was forcing the issue against an aggressive defense. Ditto the scoring problems; The Cavs weren't going to let Curry beat them. That abysmal field goal percentage? Curry mostly shot 3s, which he made at a 40 percent clip.

When a friend told me this happened I said "knowing WWE they probably did this figuring Cavs would lose so they could say Cleveland finally has a champion"

JR got that "I am just going to the bodega to pick up a loosey" outfit on. I wonder kind of flip flops he has on
Much as i like Carmina Burana O Fortuna, Cavs new intro music needs to be this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Juqm94sUV_E
Change the voice over to be "the biggest icon in basketball."

this is a guy who couldn't stop dancing on the court, literally dancing before shots even met the net and launching half court shots during the season and once again ended up looking like hot ass when the shit got real

By Forever Go To PostCurry disappeared in the finals last year too. He was perfectly healthy. If they lose this game I think people will start reexamining that.Vindication.

Sorry, I was leading this group when folks called me nuts in this very thread just a week ago. If anyone has been vindicated it's been me. More turnovers than assists for the unanimous MVP point guard.

“I learned a lot about myself as a man. I got to control my emotions. I will always control my emotions now. There is a silver lining in between everything. I’m not a guy that takes moral victories, but I did learn from that. I learned that I can’t put myself in harm’s way and that’s in anything. That’s in basketball. That’s in life. You can’t put yourself in that position.#FuckingHumbled, finally.
You guys are saying some dumb stuff. Curry's performance this Finals are still a notch above what even Lebron and Kobe have done in a similar situation. But hey, keep on keeping on and spreading FUD.

Love coming out of the plane with a wrestling belt is some funny ass shit.

I wouldn't say Curry underperformed in the 2015 Finals, more like he wasn't needed as much.

GOAT, amirite?
When it comes to APG and TO, is Kobe a PG? Steph's job as a PG is to get other players involved. He was so careless with the ball this series that he had more turnovers than assists.

BTW, Lebron averages 3.5TOV for his playoff career and he's not a PG. Lebron averaged 4.1TOV last playoffs in 20 games. Where were you when Kobe averaged 4.7TOV in 7 games after the Lakers blew a 3-1 lead versus the Suns in 2006 Playoffs?

1. These were the most important 7 games of his career.
2. This was a historic season so the loss is compounded because of that.
3. First unanimous MVP in NBA history.
4. He received the vast majority of credit for the success the last two years, only fair to garner the blame since he didn't play well.
5. Again, he is the point guard. Kobe and LeBron weren't. It's like saying Kobe is a worse shooter than Shaq because he is like a career 43% while Shaq is 59%. And then ignoring that Shaq was a center who got most of his shots near the rim and in the paint while Kobe is a shooting guard who takes further away shots and therefore is going to miss more.
6. If you don't see why the Warriors falling apart after 73 wins and being up 3-1 is different than an overachieving Lakers team in 2006 that stunk it up, I don't know what to tell you.
It is far worse for a non-PG to average that many turnovers than a primary ballhandling point-guard like Curry. Like magnitudes unprecedently so. Your argument is silly and willfully ignorant and dismissive of everything basketball related because you have no actual leg to stand on.
But hey, ignore the 2004 and 2008 Finals as well.

nobody has ever done better at covering their trax
This time around , the Dubs ABSOLUTELY needed Curry to show up with the type of performance that earned him the first ever unanimous MVP trophy yet he had a terrible game. Dray, Lebron, Kyrie and even Love freaking showed up for Game 7. I still can believe the circus passes he threw last night. Unbelievable.
In their last 3 wins in the 2015 Finals, Curry averaged 28 points on 49FG%/45 3PT% and 6.3APG and 5RPG. What tracks was he covering? The one where they won a championship?
And yes, Curry sucked in the 2016 Finals, but this bullshit revisionist history of the 2015 Finals is just that.

Rusty Simmons @Rusty_SFChronSee this shit? And me who thought they'll be humbled by the experience. smh
Klay Thompson: "We feel like we're still the best team in the world, but we let that slide."
I hate talking sports sometimes when people stretch the truth to create some kind of narrative about someone or a team. Makes for horrible discussions. Someone's not super duper exceptional in a series = they didn't show up, wut. It's stuck somehow too, I blame sports journalists who pretend they're all about the numbers and then they're suddenly not when their peddling their own theories.
By vic Go To PostSee this shit? And me who thought they'll be humbled by the experience. smhOne could only hope this would be the kick in the ass they need to fly right but they've been huffing their own farts too long apparently.

tbh, it's still doesn't register to me that Klay taunted Lebron after Game 4.

I mean, in the end, it was Curry playing below his level and Draymond punching too many people in the balls that did the Warriors in.
I don't know if the Warriors' arrogance matters that much. They're one of the most arrogant/confident teams in recent history, but I'm not sure that led to Draymond hitting dudes in the balls or Curry failing to get dribble penetration against Tristan Thompson.
