By Woodenpapangus Go To PostDo you really think Wenger will start playing more counter attacking football, rather than try to desperately fit him into the current system?
Depends on the team. We have played counter attacking football against the bigger teams and a striker like Vardy would be good in games like that.
I got it guys
I got it
I figured out the logic. I figured it out.
Wenger simply has a fetish for pacy strikers. That's it. That's why we're going for Vardy.

By Wedward Go To PostGiroud has never scored more than 16 goals in the pl.
Vardy scored 24 last season.
We should sign Charlie Austin too #bargain

Yeah, Giroud is a fucking rocket.
By Esch Go To PostWe should sign Charlie Austin too #bargain
Has Charlie Austin scored over 20 goals in the pl?
I must have missed it.
By Woodenpapangus Go To PostYeah, Giroud is a fucking rocket.Giroud is a target man and Wenger can't sleep at night without a target man in his system.
We also will be without Welbeck for the whole season so I don't think signing two strikers is out of the question.
If Vardy has any sense he'd accept and push Leicester to do the deal. Man has gone from non-League to Arsenal
By Wedward Go To PostArsenal fans beg Arsene to play counter attacking football.Pretty much.
Buys striker that is good at counter attacking football.
"kill me"
not sure why he would target Morata otherwise
part of the contract should be that vardy walking into the emirates with an arsenal shirt is the final shot of the vardy movie
By Barzul Go To PostIf Vardy has any sense he'd accept and push Leicester to do the deal. Man has gone from non-League to ArsenalMan has won the league and gone to Arsenal because of Arsenal
By Auto Go To PostI would rather take MorataWould you pay 40m for Giroud? Because that's exactly what Morata could be. He's shown absolutely nothing to me that he warrants that price. CL exploits included.
just pay 40m to RM and be done with it
By Barzul Go To PostIf Vardy has any sense he'd accept and push Leicester to do the deal. Man has gone from non-League to ArsenalHe won the league last season and is playing for England at the Euros. Bigger achievements than being at Arsenal.
I still doubt that he'd want to make the move, to be honest.
Leicester's adventure has just gotten started.

I forget his nsme, but there was this lsd who just set a record in the grestest league ever that we could have got for a few million more fhN Vardy.

i now understand the sentiment: arsenal fans truly are bizarre.
so here's a relatively cheap (not that it matters, but still) cf who plays like he's on xtc, is fairly intelligent when attacking, makes great runs, and who scores goals and... there is still an outrage.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostHe won the league last season and is playing for England at the Euros. Bigger achievements than being at Arsenal.
Let's be serious here.
He will push for the move.

a few more million, lol
edit: oh i see what you mean
yeah
wenger'd
I don't think it's an outrage, I just agree with the people saying Wenger won't be buying two strikers. He isn't selling Giroud, so he isn't going to go into the season with either him or Vardy as third choice.
By Wedward Go To PostLet's be serious here.Depending on the wage you give him, IMO. Leicester's owners are loaded and offer him the same amount if they really wanted to.
He will push for the move.
Did you listen to Yumi Zouma yet?
By Auto Go To PostI don't rate him much but if I had to pick between Vardy and Morata, I know what I'll pick.Again would you pay 40m for a 23 year old Giroud?
By Barzul Go To PostAgain would you pay 40m for a 23 year old Giroud?Morata has potential to be better than Giroud so yes.
20 million for a striker with 23 goals to his name last season is a great deal no matter how you look at it.
at worst he'll be a great back up
can't wait to see Captain Grinta feeding Grinta Sul Campo

By Gurthang Go To PostPaul Pogba's signing is underway. Zidane has already spoken to him. He'd sign for six seasons, costing €100m, and earning €8-10m. [Jugones]He's black, you're safe don't worry. Isco and James good looks won't be sullied.
Pls no
God no
James and Isco are 10x times cuter than he will ever be
By Auto Go To PostHe is a one season wonder and old.
there aren't really any certainties unless you go for a top top striker--and morata isn't it.
Seriously guys the striker market is dire. There's no one available at all. Vardy at 22m is a way better gamble than Morata at whatever price Real are quoting.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostDepending on the wage you give him, IMO. Leicester's owners are loaded and offer him the same amount if they really wanted to.

I did. It is alright. Too twee for me.
Arsenal don't bid for players unless they are sure that they want to come.
Happy about us going back to counterattacking football if it's true. That would be nice.
Vardy isn't the answer though. Old, part of a team that defied logic, only one good season under his belt. Doubt he'll replicate or exceed last years output. And I can see Wenger trying to play him in a tippy tappy ball set up too.

Aston Villa thought this was sound logic too.
Gosh I do love Villa. First they gave us £24m for Bent, then they relegate the Mags, then they did it AGAIN while also relegating themselves.
Beautiful club.

Currently I am seeing Vardy as a Welbz replacement.
Think being concerned Wenger puts him on the wing is reasonable.
Rather we sign Vardy than nothing. The striker market is dire right now. 50+ for Morata. C'mon.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostMorata at 60 is better than Vardy at 20.
Seriously, have any of you lads even watched him!??
Who says 60m gets it done?
