The Freezer Xtreme two-tower cooler I'm rocking now is virtually silent. All there'll be left to do is replacing my coil-whining Fractal power supply with one of them fan-off-unless-under-heavy-load Corsair / EVGA / beQuiet! ones and I'll be set.
I had gentle typhoons before this which move a lot of air, but I was looking for something quieter with PWM. I spent ages looking. Noctua redux were up there. To be honest I didn't consider be quiet until I got this Dark Rock 3 after one of the boys at work was telling me about it.
I got 3 x 120mm as front intake and the 140mm rear exhaust. I might see if I can fit the phanteks up top for more intake. Got my fan xpert profiles set up and it's completely silent right now with this:
CPU: 1000rpm
exhaust: 600rpm
intakes: 600rpm
I've been looking into beQuiet! stuff for a while now. They've been really stepping up their game lately.
