United have made a €100m offer for Paul Pogba but Juventus want €120m. [as]
Dunno if true but it also sounds from Di Marzio that Pogba also wants like €13 million a year in wages.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostBad look for United this….
No, not really.
It would be somewhat amusing to buy back a youth product who left on a free for that much money, but the smile would disappear every time I remember that he'd very possibly win you the league, and almost definitely do it in the near future.
By Laboured Go To PostNo, not really.Breathlessly chasing after a player let go of for free.... now he's made a name for himself and we come crawling back throwing up to 120 million at him and his scum agent...
its pathetic

No it's called trying to buy the best players you can.
It's a tad embarrassing, sure. No more embarrassing than numerous things we have done already, with the caveat that he's one of the very best players in the world.
I realised the other day that I'd take Sterling back in a heartbeat

I mean, put another way, how pathetic do we consider Barcelona to be when they buy back lots of their talent for much higher prices (and continue to win a fuck ton of trophies)?

Odd:
Japan's first 'naked restaurant' opens in Tokyo next month with draconian rules of entry whereby podgy prospective diners will be weighed and ejected if found to be too fat.
Following the lead of establishments in London and Melbourne, the eatery which is called 'The Amrita' also has strict age restrictions, with only patrons between 18 and 60 allowed in, after they check in their clothes and put on paper underwear provided by the restaurant.
"If you are more than 15 kilos (33lbs) above the average weight for your height, we ask you refrain from making a reservation," a list of rules posted on the restaurant's website states, explaining that patrons could be weighed if they do not appear to be within the correct weight range.
Guests found to be "overweight" will be refused entry to the restaurant, which opens on 29 July, and will not be entitled to a refund, its website points out. All payments must be made in advance on an online booking page.
The list of rules asks visitors not to "cause a nuisance to other guests" by touching or talking to fellow diners. Tattooed customers are barred from entry.
Those who meet the restaurant's entry requirements will be asked to lock away mobile phones and cameras in a table-top box.
Guests will fork out up to 80,000 yen (€660) for tickets entitling them to eat food served by muscle-bound men wearing g-strings and watch a dance show featuring male models.
Meal tickets, not including a show, will cost from 14,000 to 28,000 yen (€115 to €230) depending on choice of menu.

Pogtrayer looks like he's crawling back to us, innit. We don't even have CL.
By Oddinho Go To PostThe younger bro has Asperger's but there's more hope for him as he actually has a decent programming job, he'll eventually meet a girl who enjoys his quirks.Take him out somewhere m8
Big bro is one of my best friends, for a while it was personal reasons (he won't sleep with anyone he's not absolutely in love with) but he's been unemployed for so long, sitting at home playing games and working on silly programming projects, he never has a chance to meet any girls and has no desire at all to get a love interest.
The sad thing is that he's an extremely, tremendously nice and intelligent person, no joke he's brilliant. He's gentle like a caring mother and definitely not ugly. Girls have liked him in the past he just missed his opportunities earlier and if you sit at home doing nothing new opportunities aren't gonna come.

But he's a worldie. We need worldies. It's not like buying back Drinkwater for £30 million which would be embarrassing because he's merely good (if you like that sort of thing).
He's one of the very few examples of where Fergie fucked it (provided you want to follow that narrative). It's not like it's something we make a habit of.
Also I think you're worrying more about tabloid headlines and forum trolling/having the moral high ground than actual footballing matters.
What is the alternative narrative?
Pogba was knocking on the door, and in an injury crisis (iirc) he played Rafael and Park instead of him
That'd probably be the final straw for me as well if I was good and my contract was running out anyway

The alternative narrative was that Fergie really wanted to keep him, thought he was great, offered him a contract way bigger than pretty much anyone else his age level but that his new agent Mino wanted to move him regardless.
Not saying that's all true but it's the alternative.
Nah, I dont care what trolls think of United, that comes with the territory.
The whole saga just offends common sense even for modern football. Its not just about the money, but imagine the strengthening we could achieve with 120 million...

His contract ran out and he is 35. I don't want to see him go but he's probably known well in advance that it would be his last year. He has been really good for us but I don't think there's anything unfair about it.
By Francis Go To PostProper shame. Even as a United fan, I love him.

Its probably pretty mutual. He can easily find a club where he's likely to play more and maybe even combine it with a coaching role. And at his age and contract situation, its an easy break from the old and into Klopp's new.
Quite a few games last season where he showed how easy the basics can look when you're a proper defender with a recognition of your own limitations. Never gave up on a lost cause, leading to quite a few extraordinary recovery tackles. Threw whatever legal part of his body he could in front of crosses and shots. Stood near enough but not too close to his mark, giving himself enough of a run to win a header, and enough proximity to not allow an easy touch and shot.
The shit that our other defenders forget to do way too often. We still conceded too many with Toure on the pitch, but I don't recall many last season where you could lay the blame even mainly, let alone entirely, on his shoulders. Just hope Gomez has learned from him instead of Skrtel over the last year.
