As someone who barely watches college football someone explain the outrage at this playoff thing. How is it any more stupid than the usual 1 v 2 stuff?

Its not more stupid, and for the most part there is no outrage. Now the argument is who got jobbed from being in the top 4 instead of the top 2.

There was some whining about how there is only 1 person from the committee who selects the teams is from the south, i think.

From what I understand, they pretty much re-do the rankings every week with a clean slate which resulted in TCU being #3 one week and then a week later they dropped to #6 despite winning their game by fifty.

I think the committees argument is that TCU's resume was the third best initially but playing and beating a bad team the last week didn't do anything for it, while the 4, 5, and 6 teams all played and beat good teams causing them to jump TCU.
