RIP Windows Phone Division

The demise of Microsoft’s mobile phone ambitions came today in a complex transaction that seemed both sudden and yet inevitable.http://venturebeat.com/2016/05/18/stick-a-fork-in-em-windows-phones-are-done/
And now, even the biggest Windows Phones fans (yes, they exist!) cannot ignore reality.
Windows Phones are dead. Windows Mobile is on life support. The end is nigh.
Microsoft is selling its feature phone business (a legacy of the Nokia handset business it bought) to a Foxconn subsidiary. Meanwhile, Microsoft is also licensing the Nokia name for handsets back to Nokia, which has set up a new company that will make feature phones, Android-based smartphones, and tablets.
Now, Microsoft claims it is not giving up the ghost entirely, even though it is enabling yet another competitor in the smartphone business

Where did they sell their phones? I've been with Tmobile for three years now, Verizon for a decade before that and I honestly can't recall ever coming in contact with one in-store at either.

Did you try Compuserve yet?
How's Windows Mobile holding up on the Compaq's iPaq?
Do you own an original copy of Star Wars on VHS?
How's your VCR holding up in 2016?
I'd rather use Windows Mobile than Windows Phone.
Yall needa stahp. I don't need all the apps in the world. I love my phone.
Some people are not affected by lack of apps. I just love the UI it works for me. Phones are affordable as well. Windows phone will go on.

I know what you mean. I don't use many apps either. I just text mostly.
But I'm not subjecting myself to a roasting by using a Windows phone.
