Kobe's "highlights" from last night.
Includes airballs, shots blocked, two charges, and two jumper attempts while fading out of bounds.
This is hard to watch. Especially Kobe continually thinking he can flat out beat Rudy Gay in speed/athleticism.
By IWMTB19Wouldn't that be glorious to see?By creepingfearI want to see Kobe score 50 and for the Bulls to beat the Lakers by 30 on Christmas Day. Is that too much to ask for?
Kobe would have to take 60 shots to get there though.
By MambaYou guys talk way too much about a team with under 10 winslol knicks
Phil needs to make moves for Lance and bring on Smoove.
Josh Smith makes more sense than Rondo. Smith sharply regressed after joining a dysfunctional organization. Rondo sharply regressed after a major injury. Also he's vastly overpaid.
By AdamBy h3roSeriously though, is signing Josh Smith to that contract Joe Dumars' worst move?
Darko?
By h3roSeriously though, is signing Josh Smith to that contract Joe Dumars' worst move? There are so many to choose from.
I'd say signing Charlie V and Ben Gordon to those contracts was worse. Nobody thought either of those guys were important pieces on a contender even when the deal was made.

Considering their big man injuries, the Warriors should take a look at it. Imagine Josh Smith running the floor with Golden State.
It's destiny
I'd be all over this if I hadn't seen him play this year. At first it makes logical sense, except I'd when Lee returns I'd rather Draymond get all the minutes he can. Maybe if he signed a contract stating he wouldn't take a shot outside the restricted zone I'd be down with it.
Surely he will end up in Houston
morey might kill himself if he loses another target to the mavs
then again morey is a stats guy......

By etiolationMorey and Vivek are both stats guys.
And they're both chasing Josh Smith.
lawl
Yet Hinkie wants nothing to do with him, what does that tell you?
Josh Smith's adjusted plus or minus back in Atlanta was awesome, he just has to get rid of the Detroit stink and then he'll be a Morey-guy again >:(

He's lost some athleticism which was his biggest strength, though. We see what happens to these types of players like Gerald Wallace around 28/29.
I definitely think he can still be effective, but I don't think that version will ever come back.
By Darnell MayberrySteven Adams averaging 8.9 points and 9.1 rebounds in 26.2 minutes over his last seven games.Developing nicely.
By Sho_Nuff82RE: Josh Smith. Brooklyn is one of the few playoff teams he could actually start for. But it would be a terrible move because he's still a complete headcase, KG is loved by fans and teammates, and we're already a bad 3 point shooting team.Welcome back bruh, love the avatar.
I don't think Josh Smith can start on this team, I mean Teletovic is better than him in pretty much every aspect of the game. I'd honestly rather play Cory Jefferson some more.
By etiolationTrading Chauncey for Allen Iverson was pretty bad.The thought process there at least made sense. Clear the books and look to do things with cap space. Unfortunately, he signed Charlie V and Ben Gordon.
By AdamMight be the worst pick ever considering Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade were on the board... not to mention Kirk Hinrich, Nick Collison, David West, Boris Diaw, Kendrick Perkins, Mo Williams, Matt Bonner, and Kyle Korver. Heck, even Steve Blake, Willie Green, and Carlos Delfino have had more of a positive impact than Militic. If he'd picked Anthony, Bosh, or Wade, Detroit could have had a dynasty. Instead, they got one championship that year and completely disappeared.By h3roSeriously though, is signing Josh Smith to that contract Joe Dumars' worst move?
Darko?
You know what would have been another dynasty
Kevin Durant, James Harden, Serge Ibaka, and Russell Westbrook

By ratcliffjaIf he'd picked Anthony, Bosh, or Wade, Detroit could have had a dynasty. Instead, they got one championship that year and completely disappeared. That's an exagerration. People forget how good those Pistons teams were, and they could have chipped again (and nearly did).
But you're right that the Darko pick was a huge blunder on Dumars' part. Melo in particular would have been awesome there.
It's really hard to imagine following the statement "I know he won a chip but..." with "he's trash", but it serves for Dumars.

To be fair to Dumars, Smith's last year in ATL was similar to Sheed's last year in Portland, at least numbers and reputation wise. He probably thought he could catch lightning in a bottle twice.
No excuse for Gordon/Villinueva though.
By KingGondoNo that's my point. They were a great team that would have been incredible with one of the rookies I mentioned. I don't see the team breaking up like they did if they'd gotten that extra piece.By ratcliffjaIf he'd picked Anthony, Bosh, or Wade, Detroit could have had a dynasty. Only 2 qualified players are making $10M+ in salary and have a net-rating worse than -10. Kobe Bryant -13.3 ($23.5M) Josh Smith -11.6 ($14M)

So Kobe is Josh Smith making twice as much money taking twice as many shots?
By ratcliffjaThere's no promise Melo weren't the one that got his career stalled because forced to play behind Tayshaun Prince tho.By KingGondoNo that's my point. And He's not good enough to be that guy.
Add in that he really offers very little in the half court and.....
I know he had that amazing advanced-stats year. But he's always been over rated.
The only reason I'd be interested in having JSmoove on the Mavs is Rick Carlisle. Otherwise I'm not sure how much of an improvement he'd be on Greg Smith.

Underpaid or overrated?
By BranduilThe only reason I'd be interested in having JSmoove on the Mavs is Rick Carlisle. Otherwise I'm not sure how much of an improvement he'd be on Greg Smith. Are The Mavs that eager to annihilate their team chemistry? Adding Rondo is enough of a risk.
Anyone wanna wager a guess about where Smith ends up?
I think it'll probably be out East by some team desperate to turn things around, probably with new leadership trying to prove they're making progress. That's why I say the Detroit Pistons will pick him up despite him being a bad fit and probably for too much money.
