Cheating? If he's cheating.... he's clearly the smartest player in the league.
By matrixCheating? If he's cheating…. he's clearly the smartest player in the league.
"He's the best in the league at drawing fouls and getting into the paint," Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. "If you reach at all, it's going to be a foul. You just have to be disciplined and not stick your hand in there, because he's really, really good at swiping the ball underneath you or into you and drawing contact.
"He's just crafty. He's clever. Ginobili is the only guy you can try to compare, but Ginobili doesn't try to swipe the ball underneath your arms and draw fouls as much. It's unorthodox. Players are used to going for the ball. As soon as you go for the ball, James is too smart, too quick. He's going to draw the foul."
Kerr said in addition to instructing his players how to defend Harden without fouling, he has told them not to allow themselves to be frustrated when Harden draws fouls anyway.
"I have to tell myself that, too," Kerr said. "It is frustrating. Like the first time we played them, I thought there were a couple bad calls, and I watched the tape and was like, 'Yeah, we reached in.' "
Harden insists he does not think about any of that or how he has so often Eurostepped his way to the rim. He just does what comes naturally.
"It's just a feel for the game," he said. "It's not a predetermined move. It's just reading the defender. It's my basketball instincts."
It's just basketball instincts, breh. Don't be hatin.
Ginobili is a good comparison. Two flopping cheaters who deserve no respect. The league will be better off with them gone.
Throwing your arms into the defender should never be a foul on the defense.

Tony Parker and Chris Paul. Right now, there’s only three true point guards in the NBA. And people don’t understand what true point guards are. True point guards are a person who can take a basketball team and get assists, be a coach, score when he has to, play defense. I think Chris Paul does that very well, and I think Tony Parker does it very well. And people who don’t like the kid, Rondo, are crazy. I think his attitude might not be the way people want it to be, but Rondo is a great basketball player and a great point guard. He can do all of them things.

Makes no damn sense. Payton talks like Rondo would be less of a player if his jumper wasn't broken.
By KingGondoNaw.... People didn't like YNB because he consistently did the dumbest shit at the position up until 2-3 years ago. For the record, when it comes to guards, the only HoFtalkinghead I really like listening to is Thomas.
I keep seeing things from the Jazz that make me feel like it's all going to be ok. We've got good young talent, we've locked up some key players, and G-TYME is developing into a leader.
But then I remember that we're Utah and Karl and John aren't coming through that door.

His top 5 PGs this season:
1. Tony Parker
2. Stephen Curry

Noah is coming back but Rose is probably out sick and Gibson is probably out with the reinjured ankle. I swear Bulls roster is musical chairs.

By ForeverKyoto will probably come back talking about magic Canadian 4th quarters but to me that just looked like we were gassed after the b2b.
No magic, they're 2nd in the NBA in 4th quarter differential, and were first last year. They've been doing it to teams night in night out since the Rudy Gay trade. So yeah, your team may have been tired, but they were going to get run on in that quarter either way.
Game was pretty awesome. Joe Johnson always looks like a monster in person, I don't think TV captures how big that dude is.
Landry Fields is looking like an NBA player again. Still no jumper, but his defence and positioning was great, he was making plays all over.
Nets definitely under use Teletovic. Plumlee was active and getting points, but Teletovic was the guy you were afraid of them getting going. When Hollins eft him on the bench in favour of Jordan, the whees came off.
Hype wasn't as crazy as last year, harder to hate the Nets without Kidd, KG & Pierce. Fuck Brooklyn & Brooklyn sucks chants were kinda weak. Biggest pop of the night was the fans cheering for Bruno, and then actually getting him. Everybody lost their shit.
Drake Night shirt was a lot cheesier than last year's:
OVO PLZ
I guess the Mavs and Celtics are talking about a Rondo trade now - http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12045409/rajon-rondo-subject-boston-celtics-dallas-mavericks-trade-talks
Rondo is 12-36 from the line this year, lol.
The percentage is just sample size randomness + Rondo's a shitty shooter, but 36 free throw attempts in 22 games as a ball dominant guard, goddamn.
Rondo is averaging 9 points per 36 minutes and has a 42% TS%, lol, lol, lol.

The Mavs' twitter account just followed Rajon Rondo LOL. That would be awkward if he ended up getting traded to the Rockets.
Brandan Wright vs. Rajon Rondo is the ultimate advanced stats (though Wright is only good in certain circumstances and only on offense but when he's good, he's great) vs. "purity/washemplae" debate other than both guys being kind of ehh overall.
By IWMTB19Rondo is 12-36 from the line this year, lol. When your starting PG is Jameer Nelson, Sarah Jessica Parker starts to look like Monica Bellucci.

i mean, if having the best PG in the league tied for fifth below Kyrie Irving is your idea of a good list then well okay
By CheddahzLike this trade much moreExpiring contracts don't really have any value. The days of teams moving them for picks (like when Phoenix sent Kurt Thomas and two firsts to Seattle for air) are over and unless you're an attractive market, cap space isn't worth much. Boston isn't a real free agent draw so it would just go to waste. Or they would do like Dumars and use the cap space on mediocre players because they have to spend to the floor.
Celtics get an expiring contract and a few draft picks as well (to add with all of those other draft picks)
Wait, what picks do the Lakers even have to trade? Don't they already owe several picks to other teams, LOL?
By BranduilWait, what picks do the Lakers even have to trade? Don't they already owe several picks to other teams, LOL?Yup. This year's pick goes to Phoenix and 2017 goes to Orlando.

The obligatory Tony Parker at #1 (RINGZZZ). Steph at #2 I actually agree with. Russ has been better than every other PLAYER in the NBA, forget about just point guards. The only reason to drop him is because he's been injured.

This year the best PG is Westbrook. It's not even close. He's probably the best guard in the league at this point. I always thought Rose at his peak was better than Westbrook at his, but that's shifted this year. What he's doing is nuts.
CP3 shuts down opposing PG's though. So, there's that.
James Harden is just such an annoying player. He just runs into people and flails. It's a cheat code he's mastered, but it's infuriating to watch if you're not a Houston Rockets fan.
If I was convinced Rondo would sign long term I'd do that deal. LA is the worst in the league at defending PG's and He'd improve that. Beyond that, his ability to push the pace and probe to find openings would generate a lot of open shots, and it's not like we're getting a lot of production from Jeremy Lin or Ronnie Price. He'll also talk back to Kobe, and what Kobe needs is a guy like Fish who he respects to run the offense.

Celtics are a slot out of making the playoffs and have a team that are pretty close already. I'd rather take somebody you know who will contribute like Wright than hope that those Laker picks turn into something good in a couple years.

Lakers and Knicks declined to be part of three-way deals that could've sent Rondo elsewhere, league sources tell Yahoo.
By diehardPlease oh please let LA trade this years pick for Rondo. It would be a conditional. Suns have the lakers pick if its outside the top 5.
If the Suns don't get it, they can get next years.
And the Magic have the lakers 2017 pick.
So if the lakers give up two picks, they won't have a pick until 2019.
Does Dallas even have the means of getting that trade done in terms of salary matching without giving up a decent piece?
