Oladipo and Fournier have nice stats.
Orlando has a good future maybe. Vucevic is a good scorer and rebounder. Hopefully payton pans out. Harris can turn out to be good. Harkless too.

Few things.
Both Dragic and Bledsoe played their best when IT was out. They both seems to perform better when they are in the game longer. Get a feel for it, have time to work on their man more, frustrate the defender even more. The heavy minutes IT gets disrupts that flow for the guys.
The offense truly looks at its best when Dragic is running point. Too often when two PG's are in, it's the other PG who runs it/handles. Bledsoe just isn't as good at creating and running as Dragic.
Bledsoe hasn't been the defensive force he was known as. He's not a ball hawk, he's not frustrating opposing PG's. Bledsoe is a good iso scorer. He can penetrate. He's an ok passer. But he's not great at being a Point Guard.
IT is much the same, better passer, worse defender.
Dragic is the best PG out of all 3, and it's not that close.
A long with the fact that they're getting sporadic production from the PF/C spot.
Markieff looks like he'll grow into a starter. maybe a 17&7 guy. More than respectable. But he's not playing close enough to the basket. Last year he got a lot of his work done down low. This year he seems to be trying to beat everyone off the dribble from the FT line extended. Whether that's a direction Hornacek has indicated for him to go, to try and free up space for the guards, not sure. But it's messy, and as a result he's attempting a lot less FT's this year than last.
But the main killer has been a lack of effort and discipline on defense. They've been atrocious. The team being put out should be hyper athletic and all over their opponent. But the effort has been so mediocre. They let their foot off the pedal so often, they're letting teams back into games regularly.
I agree with all your points, I read that Hornacek wanted Markieff to stretch the floor more so that might be why his play has changed. I really do like him though.
IT has been a major disappointment and with him firing his agent I don't think he will be in town for long. I think Dragic should run the point at all times and bledsoe should be the SG on offense. defensively we have no anchor this season. Plumlee has been shit and Len is not ready to start.
IT for david west could be cool but they have big men and are injured. Unfortunately I don't see a trade that will fix all our problems and any trade we do make will have to be a three way.
Fingers crossed the Kings go supernova (sorry kings fans) and Demarcus asks for a trade. McD will go nuts.
I also agree that the effort just not been there, Hornacek says they are not playing like a team and making the extra pass on offense and not helping on time on defense. Bunch of selfish shit going on this season. probably because of the incosistent minutes and the growth of egos. and the addition of a pretty large one.

So I haven't even been paying attention to this season, I'm way too addicted to CSGO.
Are the Knicks really that bad or are we just tanking? I knew we were below average, I didn't think we were Top 5 pick bad though.

you can make an argument they are tanking a bit since unlike earlier knicks coaches (woodson, D'antoni) fisher has rarely played his best guys heavy minutes. However it doesn't matter the knicks should be a top 5 pick unless they do something stupid like pull a linsanity in 2015 and win 10 games in a row for no god damn reason.

The whole idea that you have a particular style of play that you want to run and find players for rather than just adapting to the roster that you have is insane. It's a page out of the David Kahn playbook.

The Ignored Evolution of the Sixers
The Sixers may be taking the first baby steps toward semi-respectability. They are 2-14 since a humiliating 53-point loss in Dallas, and 2-6 this month. They’ve been somewhere between run-of-the-mill bad and historically bad in those 16 games, and for Philly, that represents progress. The Wolves and Hornets have worse point differentials in that span, and Philly’s per-possession scoring margin is in the same ballpark as that of Detroit. The Sixers are sixth in points allowed per possession in December against a quality schedule that has included San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, and Memphis.
The modest uptick coincides with Carter-Williams’s return from injury and the emergence of K.J. McDaniels and Robert Covington. Those dudes are anonymous, even if NBA nerds have fallen head over heels for McDaniels’s chase-down blocks and highlight dunks. “I didn’t know I was an Internet sensation,” McDaniels says, laughing, after a reporter informs him that, indeed, he is.
With those three, Noel at center, and Mbah a Moute acting as a smallish power forward, the Sixers almost look like a normal NBA team. Imagine that! “When we have two shooters on the floor, or our version of shooters, it really helps [Carter-Williams],” Brown says.
Philly might have more sports science gadgets than any team in the league. In practice, they wear devices from the Australian-based company Catapult that log every player’s exertion level — heart rate, cutting speed, and more. The team hopes to soon display that information in real time, so Brown can know instantly whose body doesn’t seem to be performing correctly.
Players wear sleep bracelets. “I used to just sleep whenever I felt like it,” McDaniels says. “But now I take it seriously.” They have individual water bottles, so that the team can track how much water each guy drinks. “We’re probably overdrinking,” Carter-Williams says.
Brown bought into sports science over three stints as the coach of Australia’s national team, and he is constantly seeking advice from other coaches — including Chip Kelly of the NFL’s Eagles. He wants every player hearing as many mentoring voices as possible. Joel Embiid may not play a second this season, but before a recent Spurs-Sixers game, Brown convinced Tim Duncan to sit with Embiid and talk hoops for about an hour, Brown says.

Because having 3 of your best players play the exact same position, and all needing the ball to be effective is a pretty predictable problem.
By giririsssBledsoe hasn't been the defensive force he was known as. He's not a ball hawk, he's not frustrating opposing PG's.
Contract year effort something something.
By giririsssDragic is the best PG out of all 3, and it's not that close.
Yup. But I remember hearing something from Suns Fans suggesting that Hornacek's system is tailor made for 3 PG's - which was obviously absurd to begin with. But there we go.

Freshly paid players + novelty of their gimmick offense not working as effectively anymore after coaches had the summer to prep + YOUR 3 BEST PLAYERS PLAY THE SAME POSITION and regarding the bolded, that's what happens when your bigs are encouraged to be 3 point shooters. They gravitate away from the rim unless they're absolutely amazing players that can effectively balance both. Markieff is no Dirk or Kevin Love.
By DarkBy rodeoclownThe whole idea that you have a particular style of play that you want to run and find players for rather than just adapting to the roster that you have is insane. It's a page out of the David Kahn playbook.
Phil adjusted plenty. LA ran plenty of pick and rolls and the second unit with Farmar and Vujacic pushed the pace. The difference between say - D'Antoni and this year's Knicks is that D'Antoni twice had playoff quality teams loaded with talent, and decided I'm going to push a square peg in this round hole.
Phil this year is saying "we suck. I'm using this year to evaluate who can play in the system and who can't. get better at the system. Then I'll make roster changes" If he knows that 75% of the team won't be around in 2 years - what's the point of catering to this team's skillset just to hope to be a treadmill team instead of building a solid understanding of the offense and the personnel moving forward?
For example: It's evident that Amare can excel in the system. Which isn't surprising because he's a skilled forward with a jump shot. Use this year to lay the groundwork for the Triangle, then tinker with sets and plays once players come in.
The Kobe/Gasol PnR was almost never used with MJ and Luc Longley.
By rodeoclownThe whole idea that you have a particular style of play that you want to run and find players for rather than just adapting to the roster that you have is insane. It's a page out of the David Kahn playbook.
In large part yeah. I mean, there's no point bringing fat shaq onto a run'n'gun suns team. But you should be coaching to get the best out of your players in the current meta.
I mean, the spurs re-tooled and re-invented their systems, but always in a way to get the most out of their core.
But there's no way that you should be hunting down new core players the way the kings are so you can go small ball. Thats just stupid.
