Ed Davis instead of Carlos Boozer in the starting lineup.

whats good with a Jonas extension?
I haven't heard anything specific. I'm sure they'll keep him around though, unless someone tries to do something crazy like max him.

I can't tell if this is a troll effort. But Boozer is finishing games now. I think instead of putting Nick Young out there with a bunch of nobodies on the second unit, He's balanced out the offensive talent more.
Boozer/Young/Lin on the second unit. Kobe/Hill on the first. Sad to say, those are the only 5 guys on this team that can do anything other than catch and shoot 3's or tip ins so it's best to spread out the "talent" as it were.
If he insists on putting Kobe at PG in the final 5 minutes, he's got to shorten his minutes a lot. Got to ride a Lin/Swaggy/Boozer lineup and have them just keep attacking the rim in order to buy some time for Kobe to get his legs. It's nuts that he's using a rotation that's 10 or 11 deep and he still plays Kobe that many minutes.
By vireWow… Mcbob out for the season? Literally the only guy with a positive plus/minus this entire season for us.We've been starting Karasev, Cory Jefferson, and Plumlee.
Heat lineup on Tuesday in Brooklyn could look something like: Udonis Haslem, Shawne Williams, Luol Deng, Norris Cole and James Ennis. This is the season from Hell.
And they've looked pretty decent together actually. Dat youth and athleticism.

I mean. Damn.
Zero. That’s the number of points I scored the entire summer while playing in Philadelphia’s Sonny Hill Future League when I was 12 years old. I didn’t score. Not a free throw, not an accidental layup, not even a lucky throw-the-ball-up-oops-it-went-in basket.
I considered maybe just giving up basketball and just focusing on soccer. Here’s where my respect and admiration for MJ was forged. I learned that he had been cut from his high school team as a freshman; I learned he knew what it felt like to be embarrassed, to feel like a failure. But he used those emotions to fuel him, make him stronger, he didn’t quit. So I decided to take on my challenge the same way he did.
Twenty-four years later, I pass my muse.
I’m aware of Father Time’s curfew. He has sent me to my room to brush my teeth before he tucks me in, but I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t walk to the bathroom slowly. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t act as if someone misplaced the toothpaste. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t brush every tooth twice, brush my tongue three times, floss until my gums bleed and rinse with mouthwash until the inside of my mouth burns and then goes numb.
I mean. Damn.

22 year old 7 footer who's a good scorer in the post? He'll get maxed.
So this 4 on 5 cherry picking shit that Vivek wants the Kings to run? Their D-League team is already running it with interesting results.
* 5-4 record, won 4 of the last 5
* Won their last game 156-130
* They average 140.1 points per game, leading the league (about 22 points per game higher than the next team)
* They have a team TS% of 57.2%, an eFG% of 55.0%
* Pace is leading the league at 121.39
* ORtg of 113 is leading the league
* Second in the league in assists per game, with 25.9 on average
* They're third to last in defensive rating in the league
* Average over 50 3-pointers attempted a game
It's not as terrible as I would have expected, but it probably won't hold up in the actual NBA. Right? Either way I'm actually curious to see this now.

Their D-League team is already running it with interesting results.I just skipped through a few of their games (the NBA D-League website is surprisingly great, it has all the full games embedded from youtube) and it seems like they run a full court press with 4 people and 1 back to prevent cherry picking. Once the ball passes halfcourt they just settle in a 5v5 man to man.

Didn't really see them try to defend with four men unless I just chose the wrong games.
I imagine Karl will be coaching the Kings within the next couple of weeks. I am just not sure it's a good fit.
Everything I'm hearing about Vivek and management is terrifying to me as a fan. I hope the Kings fans going to the Tuesday game let Vivek hear their displeasure, because the community is not happy with the move.
There's also reports that Gentry was approached to be an assistant and was told he'd eventually get the head job, and that Gentry refused that setup, told Malone about it, and took the Warriors job.

They broadcasted one game and I watched it on youtube.
It's the fugliest basketball that I've ever seen. It is atrocious to watch. Feels like a mockery of the intricacies of the game.
How many seconds would it take for the league to institute a rule to prevent cherry picking?
It would essentially be a variant of the defensive 3 second rule but the player has to be behind the mid-court line.

infinity.
They would never do it.
It would mean that players that collide under the basket with no foul called, would be breaking it.
Injured players. Potentially guys with a concussion.
And I don't see the point in not allowing it. You want to run the risk, then what ever. Smart teams are going to break it up incredibly easily and wreck them.

I don't think they've been doing that yet. They've been playing at an insane pace and doing full court 4 man press after makes. But they haven't employed the cherrypicking strategy consistently yet. Also. Holy hell. They're scoring 22 more points per game than any other team but only are 2nd in apg? that's nuts.

So in addition to being a terrible owner and general jerk Dolan is now literally responsible for someone's death.
RT @sam_amick D'Alessandro on style & desire to pick up pace offensively: "Look, I think everyone can run. I don't care who you are in this league."
lulz
Al Jefferson and Zach Randolph and Tim Duncan and Marc Gasol better get on that.

By jjasperWait Spurs are resting everyone tonight?Pop has pretty much rested half his team during the regular season everytime he faces Portland because the matchup either tends to be on TNT or on a second of a back-to-back given their schedule the last few years.
Pop's never gonna forget 2011.
RT @WojYahooNBA Sacramento owner Vivek Ranadive is very intrigued with coaching candidacy of Chris Mullin, league sources tell Yahoo. Mullin's a factor.

Raptors Could Pursue Marc Gasol In Free Agency
Dec 15, 2014 12:43 PM EST
The Toronto Raptors' front office is increasingly interested in pursuing Marc Gasol during this offseason in free agency.
Gasol, however, is widely expected to re-sign with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Raptors had been expected to wait until 2016 to pursue Kevin Durant.
Jonas Valanciunas has improved in every season but the Raptors' front office has doubts about his ability to lead the team in the frontcourt deep into the playoffs.
I like that the Ujiri era aims to whiff on free agency bigger and more brashly than Colangelo ever did.
