Another longterm candidate to monitor for Kings coaching job, league sources tell Yahoo: Vinny Del Negro.
Dangerous move by the Kings. Cousins and Gay (and to a degree McLemore) could easily find themselves in fuckless territory again under different direction.
By KingGondoOKC only a half game out of the 8 seed.
That was fast.
8 seed in the west is an honorary east seed this season.

do you expect Portland to get worse?
you still don't get home court if you have a worse record than #5 and the blazers are not bad enough that you could get a 4 seed with a much worse record than you would need anyway for a 5 seed.
By psychintellectLol we sent shabazz to the d league...Lebron should let his assistant GM David Griffin handle the picks this year.

if your division is shit you could get a 4 seed with a 8 seed record but portland is good enough that a better record than them would most likely get you a 5th seed anyways (which would be the same as a 4th seed with no HCA).

into reality with his play this season.
31.6 points, 8.3 assists and 7.1 rebounds per 36 minutes. .597 TS%. 33.1 PER.
Probably not sustainable, but got dayum.

I really don't know how to feel about this season.
Hayward and Favors look pretty great but no wins are coming.. I wish Exum would be more aggressive, he uses his wicked first step about once every 5 games.

Those are insane numbers. Just nuts.
Also, Minny was super classy last night. Since Malone passed Jordan a long time ago, and since Malone isn't really considered an all time great...This was the first guy since Jordan retired to pass him up in something. No one has 6 chips. First guy to pass the greatest ever at something significant.
Classy classy move by Minny. I hope the Lakers honor Timmy or Dirk in the same way if one of them hits a big milestone in LA.

Really? That's weird. His first step is really his most prolific skill at this point. I don't think there's 20 people in the league that can stay in front of him.
Exum's general lack of aggression is worrying to me. On the bright side, he isn't taking a lot of hits considering he can only get buckets by going at the rim but still.... you'd like to see more assertiveness from young guards.
Exum should be hitting the ground numerous times learning how to deal with NBA length.
He'll be nothing but an absolute bust if he doesn't start learning the limitations of what he can and can't do with his athleticism.
He'll be nothing but an absolute bust if he doesn't start learning the limitations of what he can and can't do with his athleticism.
Exum's touch is horrible right now so he can't make anything but spotup threes and layups (him trying off the dribble jumpers and floaters never ends well). He also doesn't like driving to where he could have to go through contact since he's so thin. He only drives to the basket when he can definitely get an open layup so he's incredibly passive. It's annoying...
Quin has got to start playing Favors and Gobert together to see if it could work. There's not much reason to believe that they would be good together, which is why Quin has avoided it, but they're the second and third best players on the team and have great trade value right now. If they can't play together, one of those guys could be moved for a really good 3D forward that the team desperately needs.

By Darkwhat will you do with Kanter?
He's going to get a lot of money from some team that thinks they can fix his defense and passing and we aren't going to match if it comes to that. I'm hoping we trade him for a pick instead of just letting him walk though. He'll get paid because he can really score, but he's super ineffective on the court still because he can't play any defense and is a terrible passer.

you really think somebody is going to overpay Kanter though? This year there are so many better or younger (with more potential) bigs out there? I like Kanter, but I got him in the C tier free agents.

I think he's going to get eight figures a year and I think that would be overpaying and something we won't match. He is still just 23 and has some high level NBA skills.
Kanter is 22 and an extremely talented offensive player. He will get paid.
If he could play defense he would be a top 7 or 8 big. Maybe he will have an Al Jefferson like turnaround and be respectable on defense.

Michael Malone had been pining for a backup point guard, but Sacramento Kings management had a different idea for their coach a year ago: Royce White. Here was the beginning of the end for this doomed partnership, a fight that widened the gulf between them.
White was out of shape, had no interest in playing basketball – which had been clear when the Houston Rockets released him. He had been awful in the Development League, a malingerer, and done nothing to deserve a call-up to the Kings.
"Pretty soon, they're telling [Malone]: Why aren't you putting him in the games?" one organizational source told Yahoo Sports. "That's when it really started to get bad between him and the guys upstairs."
How Karl would deal with Ranadive will be fascinating, too. The owner played the part of a fantasy league owner, treating the Kings like a science experiment. He shared tactical experiences with Malone about coaching his child's youth team, and pressed him to consider playing four-on-five defense, leaking out a defender for cherry-picking baskets. Some semblance of that strategy is expected to be employed with Corbin now, a source told Yahoo Sports.

not to add wood on the fire but royce white was nicer than his stats in the 2k games..... maybe thats why the owner thought he could contribute..... just saying
Ty is the most trapped in the 90s coach possible, I really doubt he's going to be running 4 on 5 defensive schemes. If he really does do all these things to keep this job though, this will be amazing to watch.
By dy_nastyBiyombo's better than Kanter. Someone has an L to hold.Yeah this isn't true bruh
I mean he's probably not. I don't watch Biyombo.

This is legit pretty awesome. It's pretty crazy to see how close they are in head/head and overall shooting %'s (outside of fg% which has been discussed)
Just a cool infographic site to scroll down through.
Easily my favorite graphic done about this.
Re: Vivek. He's weird and has all the feels of someone with a messiah complex that thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. Any success is going to go to his head. This won't end well.

Even Jazz Age saw how clearly that was troll bait. You're better than that DY
Jason Jones @mr_jasonjones 7m7 minutes agoAt least there is something for Kings fans to be excited about.
Also, DeMarcus Cousins is expected back in the lineup Thursday under a minutes restriction. Malone was a game way from his return.

The Heat say forward Josh McRoberts had a MRI that revealed a right lateral meniscus tear, which will require possible season ending surgery
Heat off season acquisitions not doing so hot.
Would Heat fans rather tank and see Wade contend on another team or do they just want to watch Wade's last few great years with him playing for the Heat?
Wade doesn't give a shit
He just wants to go out as a Miami legend and I can't say I blame him.
They'll suck down treadmill style 1st rounders until some team gets desperate enough to take on Chris Bosh's massive contract.

Wow... Mcbob out for the season? Literally the only guy with a positive plus/minus this entire season for us.
Heat lineup on Tuesday in Brooklyn could look something like: Udonis Haslem, Shawne Williams, Luol Deng, Norris Cole and James Ennis. This is the season from Hell.

They have a -4.1 differential this year, despite being dead last in pace (wtf, they're last in pace?), which isn't much better than the Knicks'. They are too terrible to even treadmill that well and really could lose out on the 8th seed to Boston or Orlando.
