omg IWMTB just reminded me that Bargnani hasn't played a fucking minute. This shit is gonna get real bad for the Knicks.
I am liking this draft more and more...
who are your sleepers and bust in this draft?
Liking Myles Turner of Texas, but not sure he can really be called a sleeper..
If Andrew Harrison stays a late first round pick he will be a sleeper and a steal.
Chris McCullough is my double egded guy.. he will be either a stud beast of a huge bust.. no middle ground for this guy..

Yeah, this draft seems kind of fine which is better than it seemed preseason. I like Towns and Porzingis a good bit. Okafor should be good, but I don't know if going to be better than Al Jefferson so he seems like a bit of a weak #1. Turner is really big and smart and has a pretty good jumpshot, but I hate how many foot injuries he's had.
By blackaceI like the Wolves approach to the year. They aren't tanking per se.. but they are using young players and getting them groomed up. Good year for them to be bad too… lots of big bodies in the next draft for them.Young players are only playing because Rubio/Pekovic/Martin are out.

TBF Al Jefferson basically has had the 2nd best career of his draft tho..
Josh Childress, Luke Jackson, Robert Swift and a few other scrubs went before him..
Okafor would be good on a team with another couple decent players...
Sadly the teams that look like they will have a chance to get him all have too many big men already.. lol
By JuddermanMLS season is over so…waddup, been a while .welcome to da tank.
Sup.

They would have played their youngins just not as much.

Luckily, injuries did force him to give Shabazz burn because that guy is legitimately good. I mean, he can't shoot but he's active, rebounds like hell and has a nice post game. Weird player, I kind of love him.
By ForeverIs it just me or is SVG starting to look like Ron Jeremy? It's just you.
he's looked like him his whole career.
By reiloKnicks got some amount of losses as Detroit and Philly.
Yep. If anybody on that team thinks this season is salvageable, they're lying to themselves only because they have to.
By psychintellectWhy were knicks fans so hopeful about this season again?
A rookie head coach hired based on nepotism was going to solve the problem of having two good offensive players and zero good defensive players.

That's probably fair. Calderon is a decent offensive player.
I'm not sure i'd want him starting, i'd rather see him off the bench.

Or are you moving people for JR's expiring?
Like, you surely don't think he'll improve the Basket Ball team.
Two teams played in that game, and ESPN focuses none of their attention on the team that actually won, and instead on a player that has never played and never will play for either team.
Sports journalism.
"I knew he was in town, [but] I didn't believe he would come," Anthony said. "But that just goes to show you what type of guy he is. Regardless of what team he's on, there's a support system there, and I take my hat off to him for coming and supporting me tonight. He had a couple days off, and he came to support. I don't think you can say anything bad about that."
When asked why he was at the Garden, James gave a long, "uhhhhhhh" before saying, "Sunday. I love Sundays."
LOLOL
By psychintellectWhy were knicks fans so hopeful about this season again? What knick fans have you been talking to? Besides alpha? (Sorry bro)
And we arent moving JR for anything but expiring deals yall can kick rocks.
Bargs out indefinitely because he's a fat fuck who's made of glass. The Knicks keep dodging bullets.

When the Jazz really get clicking on both offense and defense and also on jump balls...look out, we're going to be a force.
While the heat are terrible. Wade keeps impressing me.

By IWMTB19Legit arguments against AD possibly being MVP that transcend stats:
Should he stay more with his man or in the paint on pick-and-roll on defense? Is his steal pursuit not worth it because he has to extend out so far to be able to steal perimeter passes that the paint is very vunerable afterward? Does he drop down enough on defense on the pick-and-roll? Does he switch onto guards too much on defense considering that it forces guards onto defending big men and takes away AD's ability to protect the paint (and gives up more rebounding opportunities for the other team)? Couldn't he take better angles on the pick-and-roll on defense that allow less penetration?
Kobe Stan "washemplae" arguments: He needs to shoot more fadeaways because he's only averaging 25 PPG on a great offensive team.
Legit arguments against AD possibly being MVP that transcend stats:
Is his team a middle of the pack team in a league with 30 teams while the numbers he's putting up aren't otherworldly and he's playing with the most talent he's ever had.
That should be all you need to know. 9th seeds don't get MVP unless you're putting up a historically all time great caliber season. Even then, no. 8th seeds. 7th seeds. Fucking 4th seeds.
And you're complaining about whether or not he drops down on the PnR or switches on guards? Besides the fact that his job is to execute whatever the hell the defensive scheme is, which I'm sure you're not privy to and are therefore making useless uninformed arguments about. This is the best example of missing the forest for the trees I've seen in quite some time.
But keep telling us how a 10th seed star player would deserve MVP if he just tried to steal the ball less...
...And I'm the Stan?

Yeah, admittedly I did not see this Knicks team having a downright awful season like this, especially considering injuries to other teams, LeBron leaving Miami, etc. What's probably the saddest part is how many games this team loses by 5 or less points. They can't close out games. It's pretty fucking pathetic.
But it's not like I was being blind about the whole thing. I had reservations with cautious optimism, especially because they had a pretty crappy pre-season.

Dude, stop the "I'm smarter than every basketball mind" attitude. It's retarded. You're not smarter than Phil, you're not smarter than most coaches and GM's, you're not smarter than MVP voting for the last 40 years. Your ability to read a spreadsheet is duly noted. Now sit down.

Right, and someone averaging 9/6/5 on 38% shooting is a much better player than Gordon Hayward.
By VahagnRight, and someone averaging 9/6/5 on 38% shooting is a much better player than Gordon Hayward.
Right, because former player isn't battling through a knee injury and will stay shooting a career low by 10-15% from three while the latter isn't already showing signs of regressing to his career average. Clearly, the former is done for.
Stotts shold rest batum until the new year, the schedule gets ridiculous over the next few weeks and we'll be lucky to play > .500 ball anyway.
If AD can hit the 8 seed with those stats then he's MVP.
Otherwise Curry is in the lead at the moment.

RT @CarmichaelDave Hearing chatter that DeMarcus Cousins may be out until January. Still extremely ill. Not looking like anytime soon.
By DarkSo IWMTB/Diehard if you got the first overall would you take Okafor?I watch some BYU basketball and that is it so i have no idea.
I don't think he would go great with Favors though, right?
Besides that i honestly think we will starting winning games soon, sooner or later we will stop having terrible first halves and a few wins will come. I doubt we are any worse than like the 6th worst record.
Cavs finally openly trying to move Waiters now?
