Ugh I hate that sentence
Embrance the JET.... he's making this a better team.
If I can let go of Parsons... you can accept Jason.
By unknownBy BranduilMavs really need a better starting PG because Jameer Nelson is garbage.you got felton ; )
Thats the most fucked up thing you could say... well unless it was Mo Williams.
By diehardJazz have won 13 second halfs.
that means we have 13 wins right?
Records tied with us.
Is this last season all over again?

Jameer Nelson hasn't been good since before Dwight left, Dallas should have known this was going to happen.
Seemingly without anybody noticing, Atlanta has won 5 straight and are 2 games out of 1st in the East.

Leagues reigning MVP just standing there watching (#9 wide open in the corner too).

In the mean while, I paid a ton to get league pass to watch the knicks.
Great win by the Spurs last night. Especially considering that Parker didn't play the 4th quarter at all. It was awesome seeing Timmy get a triple double, even if Gasol completely owned him on defense in the post.
After last night's game Tristan Thompson is 8th in the NBA in OREB at 3.2 per game in only 25.3 mins. That guy was a monster on the boards.

Rockets' lineup for the second game of a back to back against the Suns (I'm assuming).
Terry - Johnson
Harden - Daniels
Ariza - Garcia
Motiejunas - Capela
Black - Dorsey
That's like, 4 dudes I wouldn't want to give any minutes to. Damn.

That Kobe Bryant-era thinking.
If you get a triple double in basketball, you did not get owned defensively.
I guess you could try steals, blocks, and rebounds as another way to get triple doubles, but even if you are not scoring, assists are just as good, arguably better since you're making your team better. Ginobili was raining 3's that night.

Could the Pelicans get the ball to AD more? Sure. Would more Davis isolations actually improve the offense? The answer to that question is less clear. Anyone can point to a Tyreke Evans missed layup and bemoan his inability to finish. Fewer dig deep to discover that 40.3% of shots missed by Evans (according to NBA Wowy) are retained by the Pelicans.
Anthony Davis has made 168 shots all season. 90 of those shots were assisted by either Jrue Holiday (50) or Tyreke Evans (40). Another 20 of those shots came off offensive rebounds. AD has made just 11 of 34 shots after taking two or more dribbles. He is shooting 13 for 43 on Pull Ups. Anthony Davis has been insanely efficient. The positions that the Pelicans, mostly the guards, put him in is a much bigger reason than many want to admit.

He'd get more lobs, but he'd get similar shots and defenses would take away those shots the best they can.
Tyreke is the type of guard that fits AD even with all of Tyreke's flaws.
That is to say, the positions he's been put in are the ones he is best at. What sort of shots should Davis be getting that he is not?
By etiolationHe's going to have to learn how to handle the ball better then, so he can use his first step to blow by slower defenders and a post game in the future.By DominicanPowerBy etiolationhttp://www.thebirdwrites.com/2014/12/6/7344961/dispelling-the-pelican-guards-dont-pass-to-ad-mythThe problem is putting AD in better positions to score. I forgot Robert was on the sixers. I had high hopes for him as a Parsons replacement. Glad he's getting minutes somewhere
By ForeverDetroit could legitimately be worse than Philly.
You mean Josh Smith at the 3 was a bad idea?
waaaaat.
Josh legit ruins everything for that team. Jennings too but to a lesser extent. The front court of Monroe and Drummond seem like it could be awesome...but nope Josh Smith time.
Drummond also not making that next step also hurt them.
Josh looks much better when he's playing the 4 on the Pistons, but the Pistons are still bad when he's doing that. Problems go beyond Smith.
I think SVG was really relying on Drummond excelling in his system.
If Drummond had developed a better game inside then you can play Josh at the PF since he is a very good passer for that position. He can feed from the corner or high post. You can run pick n roll with Jennings, etc.
The team just doesn't look functional on many levels. Jennings the only player that's shown improvement from last year.

Malik Rose just pointed out that their bigs look like they are out of shape...
By creepingfear
You are going to hear more about this the next few days at the very least.
Good shit Rose.
Looking at NBAwowy... AD's stats are better when Austin Rivers replaces Tyreke Evans. TS% jumps from 60 to 65% with only a slight USG% dip.
SVG might be stealing money as a coach to go along with being a terrible GM if the Pistons are this bad.

The beyond that part is... None of them, out side maybe Monroe, are skilled players.
Smith, Drummond, Jennings, KCP, Jerekbo. I'm not sure Singler is someone you have to worry about in general.
I guess Augustin is too.
But there's no one to really build a system around there outside Monroe, but he probably won't be there next year so thats just pointless. You're not building one around Smith. Drummond is still so incredibly raw, I don't think he has any real offensive game. Jennings and KCP aren't high ceiling guys. Jennings is now what he will probably always be.
