By ForeverBy captmcblack'Sup, y'all. How will you draft Towns when Philly will?
Is this where I can support #tankfortowns?
Philly won't beat our tank.
By iwmtb19The Jazz are down to the 11th worst DRtg in NBA history and are worse defensively than last year :/
So Snyder - the assistant for D'Antoni - isn't fielding a good defensive team and you're surprised?
New forum threw us off for a bit, but you know things are back to normal when we're debating Derrick Williams vs Bismack Biyombo.
By livefromkyotoThat's not saying much. TT is awful. He's a fucking tweener.By giririsssI don't see how that invalidates the point.
Remember, they play on
Jazz
Charlotte
Behind Anderson Varejao
TT started 82 games each of the last two seasons and nearly averaged a double-double. He only got bumped out of the lineup because of the arrival of Kevin Love, and he's got a long NBA career ahead of him.
Williams is getting 10 minutes a night in Sacramento, and was down to 15 in Minnesota before they traded him for Mbah a Moute. I'm not seeing a great career trajectory there, and he wouldn't see big minutes in Utah or Charlotte either. Heck, I'm to not even sure how much he'd play on the Sixers.
By captmcblackPhilly won't beat our tank. You merely adopted the tank. That Philly team was born in it, moulded by it.

Cavs coming to town on Friday!
If the Cavs played the Knicks the night before, does that still count as a back to back?

Is Okafor the answer to running the triangle?
By ForeverIs this the first time a point guard has airballed two free throws in a row?I heard that on the broadcast last night. The Clippers' radio announcer said that it was the first time he's recalled seeing it in the thousands of games he's seen.
By dy_nastySo the only reason Biyombo isn't starting is because he's terrible? Isn't that why most d-league guys are in the d-league?By giririsssThe only reason Biyombo isn't playing more is because of Charlotte's atrocious spacing issues.By dy_nastyhow can one ride for derrick williams but not biyombo? over the past two years he's shown he's worth the investment to anyone who's bothered to look
hell, biyombo pretty much handled phoenix by himself this year
Who's dick riding either? They're both turrible and you don't want them on your team.
If you're trying to win that is.
But if you're trying to say that Derrick Williams belongs in the league when he's never even been as good as Stephen Graham while Biyombo doesn't, you're just clinging to old news like its fact. This year especially - the only reason that Al looks tradeable is because of the steps that both Zeller and Biyombo have made.
I'm not saying either belongs in the league. Neither of them do.

Started 82 games in 12 - 13, and 82 in 13 - 14. Averaged over 31mpg in each season. 11.7ppg, and 9 rpg. turning it over more than getting assists. shooting sub. 500%. and looks to be a career .650 FT shooter. Who isn't a good defender.
I'm not REALLY saying Williams is great, good, or competent. I'm only pointing out that just because some of the guys taken after him are getting more mpg / starting, doesn't mean they're turning out to be better players.

Is Okafor the answer to running the triangle?
The triangle relies on a big man that can score, right? I know Okafor's a big guy, but I have no idea about how good of a scorer he is.
By ratcliffjathe triangle doesn't need a big man to score, it just needs a intelligent big man that can pass at the least.By Jeff-DSABy unknownBy Jeff-DSAEven as a Jazz fan, I get to still laugh at the Knicks. That's a blessing. When Okafor is in NY you won't be laughing.

I honestly don't know much about the triangle at all. They at least had Rodman for 3 of those championships, though I'm pretty sure he played PF rather than C.

Bill Cratwright, Bill Wennington, Will Perdue, Luc Longley and Bison Dele... Are the impressive list of centers..
Grant and Worm were the PFs..
Mostly needs good passing skills, which is why Shaq was so good in it.

honestly looking at the prospects (and the likely chance Monroe will be the FA big the knicks get) Karl Towns would be the best fit. Offensively he can operate outside the paint and he is a rim protector defensively. Both big men are superior passers and rebounders.
Also with that 1 win by philly I think all the tanking teams get a win out of jail card.......plus cavs suck defensively. So the knicks might win this one.
cavs are bad, they will win though.leBron is so different and weird this season, nothing like heat bron.

The bulls ran many sets with Pippen / MJ as the post player, but initiated from a pass/setup from a big. It requires the bigs to know their roles and execute if they're not a scoring threat though. And to know angles and the like (and for the wing player to be a very good passer too).
I went back last year and watched some old bulls games. Their passing was insane. Their offense was non stop movement too.

It's funny how suddenly THardJr. can play when they don't run a true triangle set. Amare and him are the biggest Triangle killers on the team due to not understanding spacing/not passing, so when they share the court it's usually an instant minus. Knicks haven't run any real sets this quarter.

I'm actually good with timmy going off they need to build his value up in case a good trade option opens up......

Smith/Lance for JR and Timmy.
LeBron is like the third best player on the Cavaliers, which should be a good thing for them but really isn't.

We already saw Big Al (who Okafor is a clone of) in the Triangle, did not go well, lol.

Though Al was recovering from an ACL. But Love was there as well.
