Why does yo have a gun though? These are police aren't they? Right? This is what they're doing at the clubhouse when they're not pulling brown people over isn't it?
By Retro Go To PostThreads like these prooooooobably aren't going to help with the lack of women userspokes fun at men's attraction to the unicorn bit at the end.
laugh a little. its healthy for you.
By Moris Go To PostThis is whack af.too close to home breh?
By Kabro Go To Postpokes fun at men's attraction to the unicorn bit at the end.
Is it? I thought the joke was that it's impossible for a woman to be attractive and not crazy.
Nothing here is poking fun at men. Even The "Woman's guide".
laugh a little. its healthy for you.
Idk man. I get enough of pretending to find casually sexist and racist jokes inoffensive at work just to get by with coworkers
Kinda don't have it in me to do it on here.
but I'm not a mod on here, so it doesn't matter what I think. Just incredibly disappointed to see meninist crap end up as thread worthy stuff on here and felt like voicing that disapproval.
tbf, retro, other mods have voiced their opinions on this thread as well.
i'll put this back to you though. how sensitive do you want this forum moderated?
do you not want any topics posted, or comments at the off chance someone might be offended?
how hyper sensitive do you want us to be as a community?
and this is just my opinion, but I'd hate to be part of a forum where we can't find humour in the relationships between men and women.
i found it hilarious, obviously you didn't. but how you react to it doesn't debase how i felt about it.

It's not on me though. It's on you.
Instead of imagining a world where everything is offensive and as a consequence no one can say anything, try and reflect on the specific situation in front of you and understand why multiple people don't think this video or these kind of jokes are ok.
That's how you sort of learn where the line is.
because again, I'm in no position of power on here. I can't make the rules or explain them to you. All I can tell you is why I'm not cool with this specific thing, and what you take from that is on you. Whether you try and see where I and others are coming from and slightly adjust your behavior and way of thinking, or disregard it completely and keep doing you. It's all up to you.
i found it hilarious, obviously you didn't. but how you react to it doesn't debase how i felt about it.
I'm not trying to in that specific statement? I'm just identifying what the joke actually is there.
its a comedy video, the point is to not take it seriously.
Comedy does not excuse content from criticism.
As an example I'm sure there are tons of comedy videos out there about black people eating watermelon or fried chicken or drinking Kool-Aid, but you probably wouldn't make a thread about one of those.
a "guide to dating" premised on judging women by how good they look vs how crazy they are, is rooted in equivalent stereotypes
Just gonna throw this out there....
but the majority of the time, people won't even confront you about something that offends them. They'll just mark it down mentally and casually move on without so much as a word. So you're actually kinda 'lucky' if people actually voice their objections.
plus the whole sensitive/how hyper sensitive should we be/at the chance someone might be offended bit there comes off really offputting man - its like cheapening the reactions of everyone who feels a certain way. like its their fault for feeling the way that they do

Other mods did voice their opinion, several siding with Retro. And while we recognize that this isn't the most PC thing in the world, it's quite obviously a joke. And hope its taken that way.
Not wanting to dictate what one can and can't find funny, we're treading a line here, of free expression.
This is by no means meant as a pro-MRA (in the worst inference of the movement) stance, nor as pro-sexism. And if the conversation devolved into such, the thread would be locked / posts removed.

By blackace Go To PostNo one is dictating what a person can find funny or not…I didn' like that expression, but at work. Can't spend too long on it.
Yeah. I'm not even trying to claim moral superiority over the perspective of someone that does find this funny. (Stating this because I think Kabro might have taken my posts that way) Let alone trying to dictate what Kabro as an individual should or shouldn't find funny
I'm just saying that casual sexism like this is not cool with me and I'm not happy to see it.
If my opinion was in the minority, much like it is at my place of work regarding similar forms of comedy, I'd adjust my behavior. And I do. I don't combat it and sour their fun. I just don't participate and try not to interact with those people any more than necessary.
So I think it's fine to expect the same of the other side when they're in the minority. It's not so much dictating what an individual can and can't find funny, so much as it is suggesting that this isn't the place to express those views or jokes as the majority here find them offensive.
You're free to find it funny, and you're free to share content like this in circles where the majority approves of them. but I mean if you post them here I'm gonna call you out on it. and if the majority truly shares my sentiments, perhaps your take away might be that this isn't the place for such content.

^OH man this is the video my coworker sent out in a group consisting of female coworkers I was telling ya'll about in the "life" thread. The more I watched it the more I thought he had lost his mind for sending it.
By Jay Whatever Go To PostI thought the man and woman's guide were pretty funny.lol. funny as they may be.
