Zimmerman listed “the firearm that was used to defend my life and end the brutal attack from Trayvon Martin” on GunBroker.com on Thursday, with bidding scheduled to begin at 11am EDT on Thursday.
Zimmerman wrote that he was “proud to announce” that a portion of the proceeds raised would be used to “fight BLM [Black Lives Matter] violence against Law Enforcement officers” as well as ending the career of Angela Corey, his prosecutor – “and Hillary Clinton’s anti-firearm rhetoric”.
He signed off “your friend, George M. Zimmerman” and “Si vis pacem, para bellum” – the Latin adage, “If you want peace, prepare for war”.

lol, those bids are all guaranteed to be fake. Just people bidding up the price with no intention to pay so it doesn't sell. People used to do this kind of thing a lot on ebay back in the day if they had beef with the seller or didn't like that someone was offering something 'controversial' for sale. Even the most insane, racist person in the world isn't gonna pay 100k for some dude's gun.

Part of me hopes he's able to sell the gun at somewhat higher than market value. He's clearly struggling financially and it seems like him losing his possessions would be a step further. Whatever money he would make would be gone quickly and he'd have to sell more until he's left with nothing

not buying that the half a mil bid is legit. there are things like guns that once belonged to actual historical figures that don't fetch near this much.

Even if zimmerman has some racist dickheads paying his legal fees, I don't think it was enough to cover losing a civil suit. I mean if he had those kinds of donors why didn't he use it during his trial. More likely that Martin's family cannot sue due to some provision of Florida law.

So he sold the gun for 120k. Well short of half a mill, but still a decent haul. If hes paid off his legal debts, he can live comfortably off that for a bit.

Its not a geographical issue either. A man in Long Island, New York was convicted of manslaughter when four drunk Italians boys (incensed over a false allegation about rape) pulled up on his front yard, yelling "nigger this, nigger that" ,threatened to kill his family, rape his wife.
Father and son walk out the house with a revolver and a shotgun, the drunken teenagers refuse to backdown and one of them gets shot through the head. Father gets convicted of manslaughter after a heated trial. We all know if the races were reversed and four drunk Black boys pulled up to a White man's house, hollering about White devils and threatening beatings and rapes, the White man that shot one of 'em would be a community hero and get acquitted of all charges.
