So uh my 5 year old macbook charger is fucked and I noticed that it started smoking and burning 10 minutes ago. It's out of warranty but it is a fire hazard and it has singe marks and shit.

Can Apple replace my charger. I don't wanna drop like 80 USD 50 USD on a new MBP/OWC charger.

Any of you got hookups?

When I had my powerbook I went through so many adapters (I actually stopped getting the apple one and got a Macally one) , apple shit would just fry.

If Apple Care doesn't come through again what are my best options.

Anyone try the OWC one? Reviews say that it is thicker than the Apple store one but that sounds like some placebo effect.
