I have the worst McCree ever, I don't get it. Do you have to be stationary or counter strafing? I do just fine with every other character, was supreme in CSGO so I'd like to think my aim isn't completely fucking garbage and that I have to be doing something wrong.

You may be putting 6 bullets into the one character but each bullet is a re-aim.
Heard several pro's talk about how different he is to aim with vs 76.
In short, more Pharah than 76.
Dunno if that'll help.
what got me over the hurdle with mccree was the realization that his recoil isn't 'real'
i kept trying to compensate because of the animation - no need, his pistol doesn't actually jump at all

Just you as McCree vs a full team of Ana's. Make it so that only headshots do damage. Since Ana can't headshot, you are invincible and are free to practice your shooting vs 'live' targets.
You can also increase the max starting health so that it takes two headshots to kill an Ana.

You're right thinking CSgo should help.
Roadhog is one of four heroes I have never played. I hate him.
Hitbox on hook is huge, so it's a free kill on anything that isn't a tank.
He has 600 HP and can self-heal, so concentrated fire is necessary to kill him. Get a tracer sticky bomb on anyone, they die, but not Roadhog. He laughs.
Fat fuck. He is the reason I pick Bastion.

gods had that somewhat viral hook over the window at the end that tons of people posted so i'm sure thath elps.
but i feel like i've always seen lots of roadhog. he's the second or third tank i see the most. number one being zarya in every fucking game. tho i'm sure zarya is fine and only genji is op
also less zenyatta murder melting=more roadhog

I was rocking Zarya when nobody played her because they dismissed her as butch among all the waifus.
Leave my Zarya alone. She s the only tank I play. Thx.

Zarya doesn't get picked as much as rein.
Roadhog isn't broken. And because so much of his health is just health, not sheilds, he actually melts pretty quickly. But yeah Zenyatta really hurt him.

Yea so I kept all those things in mind that you guys suggested, sat in a bot training game for like an hour trying to get used to McCree and it still doesn't really work.
Gonna just have to hope my Zen can keep countering Pharah's since every McCree I get on my team can't.

try a lower dpi on your mouse/lower in game sensitivity.
By Rob Go To Postjust played a game with zen, shame his debuff orb got nerfed.
it's still really strong. 50 percent was just that absurd.
nah, DPS just isn't for me in this game and I've finally accepted that. Sometimes I can have a great game with Pharah or Reaper but I don't think I do enough consistently, or at least it doesn't feel that way since I would always lose. I'd get the gold medals but that doesn't really mean shit because you're supposed to when you play them.
I've been playing more with tanks trying to get good with them, mainly focusing on D. Va and I've had a couple of successful games with her. Haven't lost any of my 4 matches with her today. I'm still not where I want to be with her but I'm learning when to be aggressive with her and when to be more defensive.
As for Zen yeah, I'm not saying he's weak but I miss obliterating everyone with his discord orb.

Before the nerf to Genji ult, it would take more than half the length of it to kill a Roadhog from full health plus if he stops to self-heal. (Genji 150 dmg/swing = 4 swings = 600 hp; IDK what Roadhog self-heal heals for. In that time, he can just shotgun you in the face.
He also eats Pharah ult and can hook her and shotgun her out of the air. He doesn't tank for everyone like Rein, but hes like...an offensive character killer.
Fuck Roadhog.
(I have not played Overwatch since Season 2 went live but I think Genji ult down to 6 seconds from eight? Probably can't even kill a full HP Roadhog standing on pint anymore)
That's why Roadhog needs those tools. D. Va can eat nearly every attack including ults, Zarya can barrier teammates, Rein has his shield everyone can get behind, Winston has a shitty dome with his leap that allows him to get behind the enemy
His tanking comes from being a DPS character with insane survivability.

By Gabyskra Go To PostOverbuff is such a fantastic website. Such in depth information should be part of the game.Oh hey, this is cool. Here's me: https://www.overbuff.com/players/pc/Kibner-1642
99% percentile in accuracy with Zarya lol
e: apparently my Soldier is pretty legit
e2: a trend with me is a) a lot of time on objective and b) dying a lot. I think they might be related

That's me in comp this season. Looking forward to get more accurate stats for the DPS guys, since I barely play them, only when people want to swap. Only for my buddies to change their picks.
820th out of 56K DVas makes me happy. I'll work to improve it more.

My quick rank for Mercy seems like it really should be higher than it is. How can I get that high in everything (but deaths) and be bottom 30%?
By Rob Go To Postpercentile has to be broken
I refuse to believe I have top 2% accuracy with McCree.
An interesting stat I found:
Shooting 47% with McCree in comp puts me in the top 42% of players.
Shooting 44% with McCree in QP puts me in the top 10% of players.
So it pretty much means that people who pick McCree in QP are super often just awful players fucking around. Your impression was right.
By Gabyskra Go To PostAn interesting stat I found:Yeah, I probably need to play more competitive to get a better feel on how I play. I definitely know the objective/deaths thing for me in general is always going to hold true, though. That has always been my playstyle.

yes this makes so much more sense. Top 57% is still a bit too high I think
By Kibner Go To PostMan, I don't remember my Genji being anything special, but apparently I'm not garbage with it?You might be looking at the wrong stats. I think for a general appreciation of your performance, quick score (in QP) or hero score (in comp) is better. I never play Genji but you're right that it's interesting that you're in the top 25% of players (means lots of Genji players suck, like McCree for me). The way I read your Genji stats though is that you do things well, but maybe you need to pick up the pace to keep improving your quick score? Dunnow.

It looks like an easy way to improve with my Genji is better ult usage. That would bump everything up.
Looking at the stats for my Mercy, I think it is partly me dying too much and partly me playing with trash teams. Look at all that healing done and the relatively few defensive assists. I even deal a lot of damage as a Mercy.
e: similar issue with my Zenyatta
12k healing with Mercy in QP is beastly, yeah. I guess you play long games, because getting to that number is pretty rare in my experience, it must get you mentions often.

Check out my Zen for even more lopsided stats compared to QP rank. lol
Overall, I think the biggest improvement I can make with most any hero is not dying as often. I tend to put up $tat$, but dying so often means I'm not there to contribute as much as I can to my team.
By Rob Go To PostI wish I never looked at my stats. It could also just mean that other people got better and/or more people started playing.
I dropped off hard from S1 -> S2.
By Kibner Go To PostIt could also just mean that other people got better and/or more people started playing. While possible, nah. Just by playing I've notice I've gotten worse, from my aim to even decision making. I know I shouldn't engage in certain fights yet I still do it and it almost never ends favorably
I'll say one thing, and that might echo our discussion about playing "the right way" before in a funny way, the look for a scapegoat in game has become unbearable. Everyone is looking for the one reason why they lose. Every game. I hate that attitude.

There are poor sports in every team game ever in the history of accessible competitive games. Lot of folks aren't wired to be conciliatory and objective.

Everyone is looking for the one reason why they lose. Every game. I hate that attitude. It's like that in every game though, and in Overwatch it's probably one of the "tamest" in regards to it. Not even steel (professional rager) blames his teammates that much in this game, at least compared to how he was in CS.
I always try to tell people to shut up if they're talking shit about another teammate, and if they're talking about me I don't even respond. I always blame myself for losses anyway because I feel like there's always something I could have done differently to help my team win, regardless of the skill level of my team.
i don't care how bad you actually play so long as the comp of the team is fine--i'll try to carry
I can't carry when the comp is wildly dumb. symmetra and bastion on defense like its the first week the game launched and we're in quickplay.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Posti don't care how bad you actually play so long as the comp of the team is fine–i'll try to carryEarlier today, I played Zen to accomodate people. First round of KOTH, we're pretty much swept, I get 3.4k healing, but some asshole starts insulting me, saying I didn't heal him enough (he was McCree, which he picked first for the record, and stayed behind me for some dumb reason). Tons of "fuck you" etc, while I stayed polite. He called for people to report me. I mean, at that point, wtf? He had queued up with someone too... I really don't get it. The guy plays selfish, blames others who help, etc. Ridiculous.
Anyway, up to 702th DVa on overbuff, hero score of 14190, I'm happy.
People who complain about supports are the worst. No one ever wants to play support but some people have no problem complaining about a healer not doing their job. I can understand if there's a Mercy running around with a pistol instead of her staff, or a Lucio that's just focused on knocking people off the map while on speed mode but outside of that, eat a dick.
I solo qd and no one went support so I locked in zenyetta. I was the only healer, so I told the genji straight up he better get it popping with those health packs because I'm only orbing him when he ults. Spam that heal button all you want champ.
lol, most damage and healing as Zenyatta for a victory on Anubis. I'm at roughly 2150 SR. My other healer was a Mercy on defense and Lucio on offense.
Probably shouldn't have experimented in ranked, but I came here to confirm that as I theorized, Gengi cannot use his ult to kill a Roadhog.
Shelving Gengi for ranked. Time to pick up Reaper and up my Tracer game.
I played Symmetra in Gibraltar on defense in ranked. They capped the penultimate point and dude started being like USELESS SYMMETRA CHANGE NOW! Another person chimed in in agreement. I pointed out that I had a gold medal in eliminations, objective eliminations, and damage, and if they wanted me to change, they need to improve their play as offensive characters. A third player said I had a point....

On the other hand you could have been playing the character wrong so while it benefited your stats, you weren't supporting your team.
I'm not saying that's what happened, but I've come across Zenyatta's and Ana's that thought "my teammates suck, I have gold elim/dmg" not realizing that means they weren't even doing their job but they have a gold medal with 500 healing so all they see is "i have 3 gold medals"
