One thing that really annoys me is that Afro Caribbean Barbourshops in London typically don't allow appointments. I've been here for nearly 6 hours and I enjoy the community of it but sometimes I wish I could be like hey can I come at 4:00pm thanks.
arseslaent there really is nothing to be excited about regardless of who we sign this season. I genuinely have more interest in the other narratives going on. Just some thoughts (no real point to them) I have on these narratives (might as well share them seeing I have another two hours to wait)
I think we all know clubs that typically make wholesale changes at once rarely do well that season. I've heard points from almost all sets of fans on here (except liverpoolslaent tbh) that have stated they ideally would like to get rid of 5+ players which I just think based on history doesn't work. I think all the top clubs will add three or four additions with maybe the exception of Leciester who just need the numbers in quality now due to UCL. The more and more I think about it the more I feel man city will be favourites, on paper they still have the best team, so need to add the least. I think a few of them will have trouble adapting to the pep way but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a resurgence in someone like nasri under pep.
Something else I think I'm also really going to be very interesting is this other European football narrative going on at the moment. Possession vs No possession, I think following on from tika taka it was, scratch that ever since I've watched football I don't think I've known teams not believe not having possession was better than having it. I'm sure people will tell me about 90s serie a so I'm not saying this is a new and revolutionary thing but I'm sure the great Milan teams I remember were better with the ball than without (not that they were half bad without it). Where as now I think more and more teams are going to be taking a leaf out of Leciester/athletico' book, is possession football now the uncool thing?, wenger and pep will argue with anyone to high heavens that it's always better to have possession, wenger said in his interview with Geoff sheaves it is impossible to have that level of efficiency for too long. He's obviously wrong because athletico have been doing it for three four season now so yeah it's going to be interesting this season.

I really do enjoy reading flabber posts, they're fucking incredible. The way your arguments are constructed (even if I don't necessarily agree) usually make me look up from my phone and think "good bloody point".

By everthustodeadbeats Go To PostOh my god, that Swiss defender is on the take. No way that ball gets by someone not bribed.
Conflicted with Sakho if it's true
1, he shouldn't be taking anything that isn't club sanctioned imo
2, delighted we have him available
3, devastated on his behalf that he'll miss a home tournament because of it
4, while Toure was good in the final, wonder how it would have gone with Sakho
Depends what the story turns out to be. If it's true that he took a banned substance, and the defense is that it shouldn't be banned, it's still his own fault.
If not, what a clusterfuck.
Or maybe l'Equipe have it all wrong, he took a speedball at half time against Man Utd and he'll be banned for 5 years

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostBelgium will dissappoint like they always doalways?
Squad still young, were not at last EC and just lost to Argentina (last 8) at the last WC after topping their group and then beating USA.
@Shanks, with Kruijswijk out (at least injured) of the running for winning, I hope your boy wins the Giro.
I want Belgium to win. They always seem like that team that's supposed to win it all and they have a nice generation despite Fellaini.
Shaqiri is good on Game of Thrones. He's made a complete mess of his career.

By JesalR Go To PostBild say Bellerabi rejected a move to Spurs (€27m)I knew Leverkusen wouldn't be buying Volland unless they were on risk of losing Bellarabi. Good for him, he's their best winger but I think a move to a bigger club could be damaging for his career. He's too inconsistent and injury prone
Belgium's problems are the lack of quality fullbacks and their coach, rest is good enough to compete and they have some extra quality in Eden and KdB, still my money is on France.

If it is UEFA's fuck up, which everyone seems to be reporting at the moment, then it's silly to suggest Sakho should run everything past the club. It'd be like getting tested positive for an aspirin or something. Even if he had run it past the club they wouldn't have seen anything wrong with it since it isn't a banned substance.
Also it's still possible for him to get called up to the France squad.

If it's knockoff Neurofen, he's blameless since it wouldn't occur to you that it'd contain anything dodgy. If it's some herbal fat burner or something, I think he should run it past the club first.

I'd be delighted to see him in the France squad, but it'd be harsh to replace someone who thought they were going with someone who hasn't played for months.
