Are you still allowed to take statute books in? I remember forgetting mine, taking one out from the library and finding out mid exam someone had written notes in it, which is strictly forbidden, they did spot checks but didnt check mine, was bricking it.
I'm 9 Chapters into Uncharted 4 and bar one chapter which made me excited about what later gunfights could look like, it's been pretty fucking dull to be honest. Some nice moments but I want to play Uncharted, not what this is so far. This pacing suited TLoU. It does not suit Uncharted imo.

Uncharted 2 was never THAT good to begin with, it had some incredible set pieces, sure, but overall? It was still Uncharted. That last boss alone is an auto -5 on any scale

I like that they've restricted the shootbangs in the early game. It gives the game somewhere to go, like they can raise the tempo to 10 rather than start out at 10 and give themselves nowhere to go but just tack on more set-pieces.

That'd be nice if the game was 6-7 hours long.
I'm 5 hours into this and it's Assassin's Creed 3-levels of "when can I actually do something fun?"
edit: Uncharted 2 was incredible.
I'm close to the ending too, I feel, and so far the plot has veered as far away from supernatrual stupidity as possible. Changing the writer, whoever it was, was indeed a masterstroke
so far that alone, it's going to go down as my favourite Uncharted!

UC1 was a product of its time. Almost none of those 2006-7 games hold up. The twist totally fucked it up in Far Cry 1 fashion but i think it stands as a solid 7/10 game.

Uncharted 4 is my first, absolutely loving it. The shooting feels........not great, but the freedom of movement while in combat makes up for it and keeps it fresh, the AI actually feels helpful too, which is nice...and rare.
A much better game than TLOU, and easily the most beautiful game I've ever played.

The fact that ND even has the balls to make a chapter entirely reliant on the strength of their writing is pretty meaningful. The dialog is hilarious and no amount of explaining, montages, flashbacks or conversations could really show you the experience of what modern Nathan Drake is like. Experiencing it is part of what makes video games unique. I mean the way their house is designed is brilliant.
Not looking at the walking simulator thread in Gaf. I have sworn myself off that forum, I just get nothing out of it except an imaginary question mark floating over my head when I read people's awful opinions.
I didnt even realize dat this weekend will be the last game of the man that made me an Arsenal fanatic.

I enjoy trying to get people on gaming side riled and banned because I can imagine somehow that getting banned from GAF would be the most genuinely upsetting thing to happen to a lot of these emotional and intellectual cripples.

Happily spend hours on end just soaking up the atmosphere and locales, especially in UC4 where everything you're doing and looking for is in aid of a solid story objective, where in the last 3 your end game is constantly changing.
Amy Hennig being told to do one has been justified a million times over.

Agency is totally overrated, IMO. Every game has its own design objective. If it's satisfying to you for one reason or another, it can be as limiting or free as the dev wants it to be. Some games benefit from total player agency. Other games benefit from controlling the pace of what you do and just loosening the reigns here and there. Both styles work, but I think the idea that a game is worse off because you lack total control and freedom isn't necessarily true.

Every single game from 1-3 gets significantly worse when they go down the supernatural route. It's been awhile since I've played them, but 2 is certainly the best of the bunch. 3 is probably the "worst", but 1 must be very dated at this point.
I absolutely loved TLOU though. Best PS3 game by a mile.
