Terry isn't going to stay and be told he's a role player now. He'll have to do a season in MLS and then comeback like Drogba did with Turkey/China. But he's too old for even that at this point.

I will say that he's one of the more difficult players to evaluate this year, simply because everyone has been bad, but also because he's been reliant on the holding player in front of the back four for a few seasons now. With the death of Matic; Mikel being Mikel; and Fabregas not being interested, those 35 year old legs at times had to do what was typically done by two bodies.

I personally think the time is right and he's done. There's no shame in it at all.

What's shameful is the behavior of some supporters who are more interested in nostalgia than being a competitive club again. Never mind our on loan or Academy players, he plays a position that has more than a few available options in the market. Centerback is not like a goalscorer or top finisher on the ball who are currently an extremely rare commodity. It's more about brains than ability. This season more than any other proves that.
