By n8 Go To PostHow can your head of scouting be one that doesn't scout
I would guess the idea is that if you observe the player then you would tend to make your own assessment rather than rely on those of your other scouts (who might have more informed opinions)
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostOdd that watch is right up my alley. Sexy as hell. How much is it?
It's a very good value considering the maker's pedigree and the quality of parts and construction, plus the fact it has an in-house movement (meaning the mechanical parts were developed by the watch maker and not bought from ETA, Seiko, Citizen, Selita or other manufacturers".
MSRP is 1750 Euro for that one (35mm dial and sapphire glass back), but you can get it cheaper if you go with a private dealer. I paid about 1400 Euro after all taxes and shipping (which is expensive if you want it shipped securely) is accounted for.

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostEh, I can see that scout-manager type thing working.
Thing is that's not a hiring that United fans wants to see :p
It's just unfamiliar to the tried and true methods. Look at how people have reacted to things like Liverpool's "transfer committee". People don't like what they don't immediately understand.
I get the concept and it might be a good one in the end, I just like to get a laugh at the idea of a scout who MUST RESIIIISSSSTT the temptation to watch videos of players the club is going to pay millions of pounds to sign. 😂😂
I'd love us to sign Redmond. Him out on the left and Khazri in the middle. Two problems solved with one transfer.
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostNice. Price is a little too much for me at the moment but one day, maybe.
Yeah I decided a while ago that I wanted that one and sold one of my designer vinyl toys to afford it. It's not so bad when you realize that the value never drops below 80% of what you originally paid. Nice watches hold their value for decades.

I'm down to a system that can help our transfers to be much more transparent.

Of course, I agree that for now it looks good only in theory.
On watches yeah. I'd buy one as a fun investment.
That eurogamer feature on Lionhead is great.

Molyneux didn't get involved in The Movies a great deal, as most of his focus, developers say, was on Black & White 2 and Fable. "We used to say they drew the Eye of Sauron away from us," Jon Askew, who worked on The Movies, says. "The team felt it was better while he was distracted with other things."
"We had a 60 man team on The Movies, and there were people on the team who were running out of work," says Stuart Whyte, who worked on the game before managing the studio in its latter years.
"They didn't know what they were meant to be doing next. It was literally being made up as we went along. I likened it at the time to that bit in Wallace and Gromit when they're on the train and they're laying down the train tracks ahead of the train. That was production desperately trying to give the team work to do. A team sitting around doing nothing isn't exactly a good thing for getting a game out. It was a crazy place."
"Black & White 2 was a total mess," one person who worked on the game said. "We had a dev manager who came from British Rail, and he lasted three weeks. The guy absolutely shat himself when he joined. The pace of change was just so much compared to what he was used to. It can be very seat of your pants, and certainly at that time it really was."
"Everyone was making it up as they went along," Adam Langridge, who worked on Black & White 2 as a programmer, says. This sounds negative, but Adam remembers Lionhead's relaxed attitude to game creation fondly.
"If there was an area you wanted to work on, you just had to ask, or own it. Everything was there for the taking, creatively, which was brilliant.
By sohois Go To PostRumours about going for BenitezLiverpool fans will love that.
I want to talk about Younes Kaboul. The amount of people that talked shit about his signing (£3m) was incredible. Rocky start but since Kone came in he has been superb. The amount of responsibility he took upon himself last night was simply unbelievable. You expect a midfielder or striker to "take the game by the scruff of the neck" but last night it was Kaboul.
His marauding runs down the left wing have been entertaining as fuck. His bossing of players like Lukaku and Costa a breath of fresh air after watching muppets like Coates et al try to handle players of their ilk in previous seasons.
Also his chant is mint. Seeing him cry last night was a bit weird. But players like Defoe, himself, Kirchoff, M'Vila have come in and immediately bought in. Players with zero previous connection to Sunderland.
On that note, fuck I hope we sign M'Vila. He says he wants to sign permanently but it's up to the clubs.

By Oddinho Go To PostHe's still young enough and hasnt reached star status yet. He's one Real will want to keep desperately so he'd actually be worth chasing IMO.Varane is our future captain, he's not going anywhere.
By sohois Go To PostJames still has 15 goals and assists this year, having missed 2 months of the season. And he only got 26 last year. Wouldn't exactly say he has stalled. This happens to everyone at Real Madrid, the only reason he's not gonna be a massive bargain is because Madrid overpaid so much for him in the first placeJames is an incredibly gifted individual, he just doesn't fit our team. When we play him the intricate balance is lost unfortunately.
There is no room for James when the BBC are fit. Simple as that.

Red Eye it would be as UK video game magazine Edge prepared to visit the new studio and interview the team. Then, Molyneux and his co-founders discovered tens of thousands of companies were already using the name. They panicked....
Webley had named his hamster Lionhead because of its huge neck and because it looked a bit like a chap who used to pop up at the local pub who had "ridiculous" blonde curly hair. Molyneux's then girlfriend suggested Lionhead as the name for the studio. It stuck.
"As soon as we called the company Lionhead, my hamster died," Webley says. "It was a death wish."

Yes but looking forward there's a good chance that B & C won't even be at RM next season.
Lionhead bosses had already floated the idea of an acquisition long before Microsoft bought the company in 2006. Molyneux had sounded out Ed Fries even as Lionhead was building the first Fable (Ed Fries says he was against the idea, for fear the creative talent would leave after the buyout). What became obvious was that Lionhead was too bloated and its wage bill too high to be an attractive purchase for any potential investor. So, Lionhead made nearly 90 people redundant, in part to help secure an acquisition.
I leaked this way back then, on a website called themoviesplanet, before many of the devs even knew. I was truly shitting myself hard when I had a lawyer called me. My little brother picked up the phone (this was before I even had a mobile phone), and yelled to me some guy talking English wanted to speak to me.
The PC version was supposed to show the potential of DirectX 12, too. Fable Legends was a graphical showcase, but should it have been? "They constantly wanted to use Legends as a demo for something new," one source says.
"Legends should have been dirt cheap to produce, that's the whole point of a free-to-play game. If people don't like the game, you take a small cut. If they do, you build more of what the people want. Legends cost a large amount of money, and was delayed countless times so we could show off some other piece of Microsoft tech."
How much money? One high-ranking Lionhead source says $75m was spent on Fable Legends - a gargantuan amount for a free-to-play game.
"The aim with free-to-play games it to get something out early and iterate on that and build up the community and build up your userbase," said a source.
Holy fuck lol. 75m on a free to play game that will never even get released. MS and Lionhead what a combination.

I'm not married to one country of origin or another. I also like American watches like Marathon and Hamilton and Japanese as well. It's just that most of the world's best movements are made in Switzerland. And the guts of Nomos watches are Swiss as well even though it's a German company. I think 80% or more of their parts are sourced from Glashutte, which is a point of pride for them since to be allowed to include "Glashutte" in one's name requires 50% of the parts be made there. But it doesn't have to be Swiss for me to be into it. I like Seiko's chronographs a lot, and the Marathon GSAR is a pretty beefy and cool diver.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostWhoa… Nice. NOMOS are simply magnificent. I can only afford the "homage" version :)
That looks plenty nice. In the end I think too much fuss is made over who "knocked off" who in the watch industry. The Rolex Submariner, for example, is based off of a French Navy watch design - it's the original bootleg.
That Rodina is without a doubt based on the Nomos Tangente, but the Tangente itself is based off of an archetype of watch from the 1930s. My Nomos is the Orion, it's a bit dressier than the Tangente and was my favorite watch that I tried on last I had the chance to.
For about half the price of the Nomos Tangente, you can get a Stowa Antea. It's a beautiful watch, though of course for that price it's not going to have an in-house movement. The Antea probably has an ETA 2824-2, which is a very common movement in that price range. Stowa uses the "top" version though so it's significantly higher quality than the normal 2824-2. https://www.stowa.de/en/Antea+Klassik+390.htm
The stuff inside that castle or whatever it is, in the warcraft scene looks absolutely fucking horrible. Like a low budget fantasy movie.
