By NinjaFridge Go To PostThey were. If they played a competent team they might not have had so many free kicks in dangerous areas. If they played a team that actually attacked more than us, they would've lost.
They didn't look good at the back but we really don't test teams. Its a lot of predictable sideways passing, get it to the wings and cross it play. We don't get in behind enough. The issue with Morgan showed in the 1st half too. He just doesn't have the quality on the ball that Carrick has with his passing.
Also, only Martial has the ability to run at players in this team and each time he actually got 1v1 we were dangerous.
Just can't fathom how there's not got a proper RW in this team with all the money spent.
I agree with Hitch here. I appreciate that people are rightfully pissed at Wenger, but LVG hasn't contributed to United in any similar way to Wenger.
Martial. What a player.
His first season at this shambles of a club and he's shining. Serious talent. 10th PL goal. 17 goal overall.
LVG is actually surprised Bastian isn't the player he saw at Bayern.

By batong Go To PostIs Schweini injured or just not coping in the #bestleagueintheworld?Knee injury. Partial tear to the medial collateral ligament.
By Hitch Go To PostVan Gaal hasn't earned the same amount of respect that Wenger has in his current job though.
Wenger has done so much for Arsenal for so long, its pretty disgraceful to criticise him.
Pretty much.
You can disagree with his decisions.
Calling him a senile cunt and trying to downplay his achievements is pathetic though.
Questioning if he wants to win and assuming he only cares about his paycheck is pathetic.

No amount of modern science can save that boy. But what do you expect for £6.5m.

Expecting a pretty odd lap of honour tomorrow, especially if we don't win
Its obviously been a poor league campaign for us, you're never fighting for 7th place because of bad luck. Had a middling FA Cup run. Lost the LC final narrowly, though we were admittedly outplayed.
Then again, the team could do with every little boost possible for the EL final next week. And it still feels like we kinda need to overappreciate Klopp and make him feel at home, since we're frankly lucky to have him.
Tough season to judge overall, and will still be a tough one when we win the final. 8th place, a final, a cup and a CL group stage spot. Obviously I'd have taken that in August. But 8th place. 8th ffs.

Liverpool will win against Chelsea. I guarantee it.
Believe in the power of Klopp.
Then win the EL and look forward to next season.

It's NEVER disrespectful to criticise someone, obviously how you do it plays the major role.
There are more than enough points to criticise about him, especially recently.
However, your latter point is absolutely correct.
On top of that, Wenger is a rare type of coach.
How often do you have a manager that long ?
A bit of self awareness due the recent years should be a factor though. That's something I really appreciated about Klopp and his departure.
Personally I would have kept him until he dies, even with Tuchel doing an incredible job, I just loved him for his achievements, personality and his tactics.
In the end, he was right. The team needed a new impulse, unless they would force a rather big change to the team, which was necessary according to Klopp, if he would have remained at the club.
There were quite a few indicators that alot of players would have been forced to leave the club, if Klopp continued.
Micky,Schmelzer (our LB) and a few others.
This would have cost an insane amount of money and a new impulse from another coach was the better solution.
Schmelzer is playing one of his best seasons here and I don't have to talk about Micky :P
He knew that after 8 years, it was time for a change.
That's something you have to respect.

Believe in the power of Klopp.
Not normally that confident in any game, especially Chelsea. Expect we'll be right up for it though starting from the stands, and that goes hand-in-hand with the team's performances perhaps more than it should.
And let's be honest, Chelsea are brass and can't wait for the season to end.
The important thing I feel is securing CL next season. and a new keeper, please
We were never going to win the league and the most important thing is a strong platform for the future.
Of course, if we lose the Europa League final then is was all for naught. except the fantastic memories.

If we lose the final I think it will have been a decent platform of a season, if you know what I mean. Getting Klopp in alone feels like a massive step towards potential success. The EL run has basically caused me to look forward to next season.
And we'll always have that Dortmund match :P
If we were to win the EL though, it'd be a very good season. Cup win, in Klopp's first season, with the added bonus of possibly accelerating our progress by 1 or 2 years and letting us target players who only want to play in the CL. We should have the money to do that, we definitely have the manager to do that, so we just need the qualification. Easy as pie :P

Wenger isn't going anywhere unless we have someone of better or equal standing which is a very short list and they are all taken.
By Auto Go To PostIt is time for something new or we'll stagnate and finish 8th
Nah, we'll probably finish top 4 again.
The people protesting Wenger were drowned out by people singing Only One Arsene Wenger so I am not so sure.

Yeah, I forgot the part "in a respectful way without getting personal".
I wanted to include a german phrase, but it's shit to translate.
not sure what makes you feel so confident to say we are getting top 4 after this crazy season
next season will only get crazier and the table will be turned upside down

This will be a summer where the truly top class managers will have to be prised away from their clubs, or clubs will have to make do with what they've got.
Mourinho is the only free agent in that categroy afaik, since Chelsea acted quick with Conte and Pep is already signed up for City.

People have been saying it for years.
Chelsea, United, City and Liverpool will be going through massive changes.
Arsenal and Tottenham will remain relatively stable and that will be an advantage.
As City and United and Liverpool have all shown, spending massive amounts of money doesn't guarantee anything.

Crap! Europa League final is on a Wednesday? Fuark! I'll be at work and have to fend off texts and all sorts of spoilers to watch the game after work. Thought for sure it would be on a Sunday.
Lol, was listening to the ManU game on the way home and turned it off when they went up 2-1. Boy did I miss a fun outcome.

City have Pep and he can turn the squad around
then there's Tottenham who currently have a better squad than us
then there is Leicester who have Ranieri
then there is West Ham who can make a few changes and compete
Chelsea squad can be turned around but not sure Conte can do it
so that's at least four teams that have a good chance to finish above us
that's us out of the top 4

Can't see him going for anyone who physically and mentally isn't capable of gegening, so hopefully that's the end of the immobile targetman at Anfield
Origi has shown recently how useful it is to have strength up there in Klopp's setup, but it needs to be combined with effort and enough pace. If we're going to try signing another targetman, it'll be a completely different type of targetman.
