By Forever Go To PostWith 6 rings he'll be the greatest of his generation.
I mean, in most people's minds he already is. If Kobe had Phil/West for 15 years things would look different but there's something to be said for sustainability.
Duncan is really a starter and a player for his defense and rebounding now. Since others take more of the load off he can just focus on defense.
Seeing as his stats literally cut in half this year compared to last year. Things might really be slowing down for him now.

Amateur hour.
By Branduil Go To PostWhy are we assuming that Curry won't be back by the WCF?
Because "we need to get a re-evaluation in two weeks" doesn't sound good. Also, he was trash his first game back before he sprained his knee. He can't afford to take two games off or be rusty for the first two home games against the Spurs.
Of course, there's always the potential that Pop does what he does and loses to the Thunder cuz losing to teams he shouldn't lose to is sort of his thing...
By Sho_Nuff82 Go To PostGiri, srsly, if the Celtics win this series and IT2 averages close to 30, would you ever live that down?Live what down? Every time they lose it's cause he's chucked his way to a kobe stat line, with out the FT attempts to back it up.
I never said he can't score. But he's a streaky chucker who is score first and only.
I said the Celtics won't win cause they have no other plan than hope IT gets on fire. And they don't. Losing Bradley has made their offense even worse.
That's not a massive knock on the team. but they need a real front line, and a wing/guard scorer other than IT. Stevens is a legitimately great coach. They have some really nice pieces. With all their draft picks they should be able to get something done.
By DY_nasty Go To Posthttp://gioandjones.radio.cbssports.com/2016/04/25/glen-davis-explains-why-he-didnt-play-this-season/Oh. They did the same shit to Dudley too. Dudley had a serious knee (or was it back?) injury and they down played it and begged him to keep playing. Then shat on him for not playing well, and traded him.
maybe griffin wasn't wrong for punching one of the training staff
And that was lead by Doc. Seems his shadyness is still on going.
If I was playing for them I'd have my own independent doctor and only believe them. And get weekly physicals so catch what the clippers didn't. I wouldn't believe anything the clippers trainers said.
Damn, at least the Pels training staff gets MRI's and shit done for the players and seemingly encourages them to get second opinions.

Also, how the fuck do you break an ankle and keep playing? Especially at his weight.
Whats the logic behind people thinking Okc are likely to come up with the W against this spurs team?
Okc are so hot on cold that I cant imagine playing as well as they would need to be play to beat the spurs for that many games.

Let me tell you a little about this Memphis team in 2011. Or this OKC team in 2012.
Spurs are the favorites, but they do lose a lot of series they're favored in, even when they take 2 game leads.
They could chip and I wouldn't be surprised. Or they could lose against the thunder and I wouldn't be surprised.
By Kidjr Go To PostWhats the logic behind people thinking Okc are likely to come up with the W against this spurs team?.i guess because OKC gave them the hardest time in the past in the west but i dunno, Spurs will murder them.
By Dipro Go To Posti get it. i started watching bball again in '11 because i was scared of Kobe getting his 6th :D
Dirk was a God that post season and no one but Kobe showed up for the lakers. But I was worried going into that season, no team had made 4 straight finals in like 3 decades (till Miami did it, but that's the JV conference so it don't mean shit)

They've won a bunch of games against SAS in the regular season in the last 3 years, but as we've seen with the Rockets, that really comes and goes.
Also, a lot of people still cling to the 2012 series when the Thunder reverse swept the Spurs. But that ignores the fact that the Spurs only lost because they could not figure out a way to stop James Harden, who, uh, no longer plays on the Thunder.
Lebron's gonna make 6 straight finals and have 2 chips to show for it.
2 for 7 and we're still gonna hear how he's top 5 all time by ESPN.

Eh, it's not ignoring anything. They've lost with home court to lots of different teams in lots of different ways. They've lost in the WC as often as a 1st seed as they've won chips in the TD era.
In LA they were considered paper tigers from 09-2013 for having amazing regular seasons and flaming out before they should have over and over again.
As good as sixth man harden was, this version of KD and Westbrook are so much better than the 2012 versions.

I have OKC winning in 6
They are fully healthy and have the matchups advantage--Ibaka has the tools to defend LMA, Duncan is a zombie and Tony looks close to done a lot of nights. Kawhi is good but he doesn't have the volume to overcome the offensive burden he'll have this series imo. Waiters is...actually playing pretty well right now and so is Ibaka offensively. The only question mark for OKC is Durant given his first round shooting slump, but we know he'll probably bounce back.

KD and Russ, if they play at their level, are the two best players in the series. Westbrook will abuse his matchup and KD can outplay Kawhi 4 times. The Spurs are great for the reason they always have been, depth and system. Which makes them the favorites. But we just saw the thunder annihilate a team with superior coaching and a superior offensive system on talent alone. They still have 2 of the 5 best players in the world, that's hard to dismiss.

Lakers from 08-10 beat more 50+ win teams than Lebron has in 13 years. that achievement in the JV conference don't mean shit.
I went back and looked at that Spurs roster from the 2011 Memphis series. It's laugh out loud funny.

2011 Timmy/Manu/Tony are sooooo much better than 2016 versions of them.
Just because they're still on the team doesn't mean you added Kawhi and LMA to the 2011 roster.

By my math He beat six 50 win teams in that stretch. There was the lockout of 2012, so you can say he beat 2 more. That's 8. Over 5 years. Since two of those were the finals that he won, he only beat six 50+ EC teams in 5 years.
We don't consider Wilt's 50 ppg average season as an indication that he's the best player ever because we understand the competition at the time wasn't anywhere close to later years. Competition and context is important.
Also, let's be real, a 50 win team in the East is really like a 42 win team in the West most of those years too.

Had great seats last night at Philips, right above the player tunnels. Crowd was dope. Loved how most sections booed Isaiah and Marcus the second they touched the ball. The arena food is still crap though.
Best part of the night was my wife yelling "Do it for Kim!" right as Humphries let a 3 fly and he buried it.

We probably lose in 6. What Phaze said up above included Waiters playing really well, and I don't expect that to happen.
In fact, I expect the Spurs to force him to take lots of shots and that will spell doom for us. He is a scrub.
If Waiters and Kanter play how they did against Dallas we can win. Won't happen though.

Just to update you guys on the Bosh situation. According to local beat writers and reporters, Bosh has fond more than a couple doctors that have cleared him to play and he's ready to be on the court and is travelling with the team etc etc but the Heat doctors don't agree with them and rather he sit the season. There's some debate and pushback between Bosh and the organization but they're keeping everything really quiet.
To add to it, Bosh's wife wants him to play too and is being public.
I rather he sit just not to test the gods and I'm really surprised/pleased to see that Miami feels the same(so far)

Bosh's PnR defense was sorely missed the last game but, brah, stop fucking around with your health like that. It's not worth it for a team that will likely not get past the ECF even with him on the court
But they're much better without Bosh anyway. Why would you go back to being chopped liver when you're been top banana? #HeatFans
