By vic Go To PostBasically if they like the offender more than the victim, there isn't a suspension.

So Green gets the same punishment as Ibaka? Interesting.
By KingGondo Go To PostWhat Russ does doesn't matter though. Attempting to draw contact for a foul from beyond the 3 point line isn't the same thing as what happened last night.I'm actually with Dray on this one.
Also, I like how Dray changed his tune from "part of my natural shooting motion" to "it was a flop" the longer he talked. At the very least he should be fined for a flop then.
He flopped. He flailed. He sold a call. Like it or not, that's a basketball move. Want to say it isn't? Your own star does it. Lots do it.
I'm ok with flagrant 1. But even then I'm a bit... eh.

It isn't the same thing as kicking your legs out to draw contact on a jump shot (which I hate as well, by the way). It was cheap, petty, and totally extraneous from the basketball play.
The league even admitted he should have been kicked out of game 3 by upgrading it to a flagrant 2. They just didn't have the balls (ha) to suspend a star player in a must-win game for their marquee team.

It's not a wholly unnatural motion for floppers and I've seen worse versions go unpunished. As a card-carrying member of the Jeff Van Gundy "Floppers should Get Techs" campaign, I've seen alot of flopping in my day. I'm not saying he shouldn't have been suspended, but that wasn't an intentional kick to his nuts.

We all knew this was coming.
This team about to get mindfucked harder than the 95 Magic when the refs call flagrants for breathing on Warriors players next game. You guys had your fun but we can't let you ruin our ratings

I'm not surprised at the wrestling/showmanship aspect of the league office. The refs really fucked up not just ejecting draymond. Warriors were getting smoked anyway, he'd be back for game 4, and there would still be a huge storyline.

Between Draymond getting a fine for kicking people in the balls and Mutombo telling people the draft winner its amazing to me that people are still arguing that the league isn't corrupt at this point. Its not the WWE but its not much different.
By 33MillionDollarMen Go To PostNext season can we get suspensions for flops instead of fines.or increase the fine to something that would actually matter.
fining them that small amount that they do is like us normal people having to pay $1 fines
By Rob Go To Postor increase the fine to something that would actually matter.Nah fuck fines they're not really an in game consequence. Not being able to play means team mates and coaches have to give more of a shit about a team mates antics.

I was just thinking more that a lot of these players don't give a shit about winning so hitting their wallet significantly would probably do more to deter it. A star player is never going to get punished because "America wants to watch the best players so we can't suspend a star"
also it's nice to see the 56 win Raptors and not whatever impostor was playing through the first 15 or so games
