By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostThat's the biggest thing. OKC playing defense against the best offensive teams despite sucking ass all year at it. Kind of remarkableI mean the big 3 scored like 80 points and Barnes lit em for 12

102 points is solid defense against this team. They were solid for much of the SAS series too.
During the RS they needed like 120 to beat teams like the Knicks and Kings many nights
One of the staple of the Dubs' offensive plays is guys like Livingston and Barnes getting easy buckets in the post, especially Livingston against smaller guards. Didn't see none of that in the 2nd half.
By KingGondo Go To PostMan Joe Lacob is hateable.

We can definitely agree on this
By P S Y C H Go To Posti don't think anyone(at least in this thread) is falling for anything, just poking fun at GSW.
dont ruin's mamba's tedious soliloquy by pointing out his strawman breh
By vic Go To PostI'll always give a team that can shoot well a chance against the Dubs. Didn't excepted OKC to also play some decent defense. They definitively got a chance to win this series.
I give any team in a conference finals a chance, barring injuries.
By blackace Go To PostI wonder if 6ers fans were froggy when they won game 1 against the Lakers?
But with that being said the Warriors are going to have to rebound better to get wins
10 Oreb versus 8 Oreb with the almost identical shots missed. Rebounding wasn't as big a deal and poor shooting, TOs, and fouls.
I can see guards like Westbrook and Waiters(!) being able to hold their ground defensively being a issue for the Dubs the whole series.

Royce Young @royceyoungThat's dumb.
Durant played 46 minutes tonight. Most he'd played in the playoffs so far is 44. Most in the regular season (non-OT): 43.
By vic Go To PostI can see guards like Westbrook and Waiters(!) being able to hold their ground defensively being a issue for the Dubs the whole series.Westbrook is one of the few guys physically capable of staying with Curry. When he's locked in he can guard anyone.
By Mamba Go To PostHow often do we see the better team lose game 1 at home and then control the series? How often does game 1 not represent the series as a whole (like OKC-Spurs).not often? game 1 winner wins the series like 80% of the time or something. OKC-Spurs was an anomaly, not the norm
Not saying Thunder locked up a Finals appearance, but winning Game 1 isn't just something to shrug off
GSW got quality shots down the stretch. Missed pretty much all of them.
Good on the Thunder to capitalize. I thought they'd head back to OKC with the split so everything looks just about what I expected. GSW will adjust. They'll tighten their rotation and get more out of Iggy and Livingston for sure. Plus they didn't take advantage of the Foye/Waiters/Durant/Kanter/Adams garbage lineup at all and that has to change in game 2.
Still sticking with GSW in 6 but it's gonna be a competitive series for sure.

That includes 1st rounds and HCA, though. Teams with HCA are usually the better team! Did you know that road teams that win game 2 do better than ones that win game 1? Why is that?
By the same criteria, road game 1 winners in the playoffs win the series only 55% of the time. That's barely over a coin flip!
Of course, in the conference finals, that goes up to 70%.
No one should shrug off game 1. It represents 25% of the wins you need! But my objection is to people who declare a series over after 1 game. Game 1 is probably the least predictive game in the conference finals. If fact, in a lot of the conference finals road teams who won game 1 and the series, they won game 2. If they lose game 2, they became underdogs again.
OAKLAND – Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams apologized for his postgame comment that so many found offensive in the wake of a Game 1 win in the Western Conference Finals.
Adams, a 22-year-old New Zealander who had 16 points and 12 rebounds in the 108-102 win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors, described the Warriors’ guards as “quick little monkeys” in a postgame interview with ESPN’s Chris Broussard.
“It was just a poor choice of words, mate,” Adams told USA TODAY Sports. “I wasn’t thinking straight. I didn’t know it was going to upset anyone, but I’m truly sorry. It was just a poor choice of words. I was just trying to express how difficult it was chasing those guys around.”
Adams, who came to America to attend the University of Pittsburgh in 2012, said differences in dialect were, in part, to blame.
“It’s just different, mate,” he said. “Different words, different expressions, and stuff like that. But they obviously can be taken differently, depending on which country you’re in. I’m assimilating, mate, still trying to figure out the boundaries. But I definitely overstepped them tonight.”
Ouch
yea no one should be overreacting, especially since it is the Warriors. but like u said, people dont learn
also lol @ this dude doing the same dunk that someone else did and getting a higher score. only the first guy jumped over a 6'1 person and this dude jumped over a motorcycle, which is nowhere near 6'1
Gondo pls, keep your people in check

I kind of wonder when a coach will purposely go full tilt with starter minutes one road game just to throw the next road game. If the best you hope for is a split then some coach is going to over commit on one game at some point, essentially ditching the next game.
Warriors played DUMB in the third, and Curry didn't go OP.
Having Ezeli out there and not Bogut hurt them.

Impressive win by OKC. Though that last minute is making me more and more want the challenge flag idea commentators throw around.
That non-travel call was essentially the dagger in the game and it shouldn't be coming from guys with whistles.
Oh well. Still think GS in 6.

By vic Go To PostAt least he's the Dad in those StateFarm ads… nah.Context matters. In retrospect its actually pretty damn crazy he took a Byron Scott team with no real bench to the second round and 7 games with a 56 win prime Spurs team.
I actually think CP3 made a good point. What would it matter if he did make the WCF? All that would happen is all the people who already hate him will just move the goalposts back one step.
At what point do we give credit to Billy Donovan? I mean their offense is still trash tier and just take turns iso's and PnR's but Westbrook is having his best year ever alongside Durant, Durant is back to his MVP caliber form despite coming off an injury and he's getting great minutes from everyone else not named Ibaka during important games.
But does Chris Paul and Dwight Howard deserve to be in the hall of fame. Statistically yes, but Dwight Howard cheated for multiple years so...

The answer to that question is whether or not you think Spoelstra and Scott Brooks deserves credit. If yes, yes. If no, no.

The Heat ran amazing offensive and defensive stuff in years 2-3 of the big 3. They also over-achieved in the year before the big 3 when Wade was surrounded by Kwame and Smush levels of talent. They hit 4 straight finals which is a remarkable feat that required perfect managing of Wade throughout multiple seasons. Almost any team would be lucky to have Spo, even though he makes questionable lineup decisions.
Donovan has been coaching a shit defense and a shit offense carried on the backs of two top 5 guys for 82 games before all of a sudden having everything on both ends click for them. I just don't know how much of the last 3 weeks Donovan deserves credit for - because the first 5 months...ehhh

Russ a little better under Billy and KD a little worse.
Both players have battled being dinged up the last couple of years... so maybe Billy healed them!
By ashep Go To Postlol people actually thinking Cleveland will roll the Thunder.Bron owns KD but yeah if we beat the 67-win Spurs and 73-win Dubs to get to the Finals then obviously we're playing at a much higher level than we did during the regular season. Losing to the Cavs would be devastating.
Also, my friend who lives in Dallas was telling me that his Mavs fan friends were discussing whether Waiters would be a good fit. Hahaha. Thank god we're gonna lose his scrub ass.
