Kawhi da Troof is my dude, bu he aint on the level of Ynot and KD, sorry. Im glad the Spurs are going out in this fashion, because the media gets egg on its face for lowballing legit A1 superstars for their media darling Kawhi. Those clowns consistently get it wrong.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostHe had a really good defensive year… There's no point to the Spurs having him in the playoffs because of LMA and how the NBA is now, but he was pretty good this year I thought.
He had a good defensive year because of Leonard and the system. I mean, don't get me wrong. He is still an excellent interior defender and position defender, but all year he couldn't keep up with switches or other elements. But it was masked by the fact that they were usually up a lot or the great team defense.
And as the year went on you could see him getting worse. In the playoffs, everyone turned up the intensity and he looks like a complete non-factor. Shit, in this series he's been worse than that cuz of his offense and rebounding.
I'm not trying to shit on him. But with big men, they hit this wall and it's just over. Saw it with guys like Shaq and Dream. It finally happened towards the end of this season with Timmy. His brain is still working but his body won't do what he wants. I see his head moving faster than his feet on plays he's trying to defend.
He's 40. It's time.

He's still one of the best passing big men in the league. It's a net positive having him on the floor for 82 games. Playoffs are a different story depending on matchups or whatnot, but can't take away the fine season he's had.
By Branduil Go To PostSo why is Durant going to sign with the Spurs again?Game 1 feels like an eternity ago.

His season was way below last season. He still has some positives but they don't outweigh the negatives at this point. Sure, in an 82 game season when you play lots of scrubs, but not when the games matter.
I don't agree he had a "fine season" at all, individually. It wasn't a bad season, but you make it sound like it was like last season. That was a fine season. Offensively, he was below average. Defensively, he was okay but looked better than he really was.

No, below average by Tim Duncan's standards, but fine by any starting center worth his salt in the NBA. I'll take the season he's had over Pau Gasol, that's for damn sure.

Hasphats really going into overdrive with how delusional and defensive he is in defending Timmy right here.
It's almost cute

LMA. js
Feels so weird that just last week we were talking about this being the series where LMA took the step towards being an elite player. Dude looked like 2011 Dirk for a hot second.

Pau would be a pretty bad fit in San Antonio. They can get away with having an immobile Lamarcus on defense. Two guys would be too much.

By 33MillionDollarMen Go To PostSpurs might have just delayed Durants move to another team with this sad show.I don't see Durant leaving now, even if the Warriors blew them out. You don't leave a WCF team with another superstar.

About 8 more possessions to make up 13 points. Not gonna happen.
By Red Blaster Go To Postlol 30 point blow outMy dude, did you see Ynot impose his will on g5. Everything I knew turned out wrong that game. This Thunder team is lowkey fucking up basketball fundamentals. Not in the way the Warriors do, but in their own moderate fashion.
