A decent mid range jumper is all Randle needs to be a starter in he NBA......but ya know his jumper is broken.
I'm still in shock whenever he gets a defender to bite on his pump fake.

Randle is the odd man out.
I'm more interested to see a Lance Jr/Simmons front court.
Lance is actually a decent shooter and plays much better defense.
Really hoping Brett brown is influenced by his ausy connection and chooses Simmons though

Would be dope if Ingram got to jump from Kinston, NC to play ball for the Los Angeles Lakers.

I expect LA to mostly whiff in free agency so LA probably still a bottom 5 team at the end of next season.
Here's to our ~19% chance of keeping our pick next year.

Harden might go for 35 a game if he had the Pringles greenlight.
Although, for someone so gifted at passing, he is too much of a ball stopper to be a D'Antoni guy.

they need a big.

I can see even see them trade it for a legit Big.

The Chicago Bulls have let go of director of sports performance Jen Swanson and head strength coach Nick Papendieck, according to a league source.http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/15594512/chicago-bulls-shake-their-training-staff
The shake-ups on the training staff are the first tangible changes for a team considered to have underperformed this past season and failed to make the playoffs for the first time in eight seasons.

Simmons or Ingram I don't care. Dreaming of maybe bringing i Al Horford to with the core and another decent piece or two.
Lakers are on the upswing the next 2-3 years thanks to this draft. I'm happy.

yes. i'm a happy panda right now.
The Philadelphia 76ers are leaning heavily toward taking Simmons on June 23, according to league sources, with the No. 1 overall pick they landed in the NBA draft lottery Tuesday night.
That would set the Los Angeles Lakers up at No. 2 with Ingram, who already wowed them in his May 11 interview on opening day of the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago. Ingram’s drive to be great and dedication to winning, according to sources, resonated deeply with the Lakers’ front-office contingent.
The 76ers will further investigate Ingram, but they have great confidence in the upside of Simmons, whose ambidextrous athletic ability at 6’10” and 240 pounds comes with innate basketball instincts.

Sometimes it really is just better to be that dude that's kind of middling so you don't end up on dumpster fire teams.
By Fenderputty Go To PostDo you think would really give a shit?I assume you're asking if I think Philly would care if he makes every indication of not wanting to play there?
Possibly. I dunno. They're trying this whole new anti-Hinkie style that might include drafting players who actually want to be there.

Yes, that's what I meant. Both teams are dumpster fires, so all things being equal in that regard, I would imagine every player would rather play in LA than Philly. I doesn't really benefit a player to go somewhere and sulk during their rookie contract if their goal is to get paid.
Still, it's a potentially big risk to take for a franchise that's trying to move in a new direction.
If they're truly torn as to who will be the better player between Simmons and Ingram, personality could come into the picture.

Saric is really similar to Simmons (Simmons is bigger and more athletic and Saric is a better defender+shooter and more of an asshole but they still play the same way and both are PFs trying desperately to be Draymond Green) and the 76ers have three centers and only one of their centers can score further than 3 feet from the rim so Simmons would really be the ultimate "we don't care about fit" pick.
Not sure the difference between Simmons and Ingram is large enough to disregard fit to that degree.

You mean the Lakers think the guy they probably will get is super great and cool?
Come on guys. This is posturing season. "Oh we like this guy,...pls don't take him" is classic smokescreening right now. (not saying its not true of course...as Ingram is probably a smart kid.)
I just want to see if Bron's bros try to strong arm Simmons to LA...if he truly doesn't want to be here..then let him go. I rather not have a guy hate being here and counting his days for freedom. I'd also rather live in LA than Philly, and get more money on my sneaker deal. So no hard feelings if that is the case, honestly. The rest of the city won't feel the same way and I rather avoid more bullshit around this franchise at this point.

Its up to Simmons. If he cared about popularity as much as people think I doubt he'd have chosen LSU of all places.
We'll find out real soon if he cares to play in Philly or not though.

I guess the question is, "Do you think Simmons could be a generational top 10 talent"
If you do, I don't think you pass on him regardless of fit or if he wants to be there. If you don't, then these other criteria matter more.

Simmons looked pretty bad from what I saw of him at LSU. Then again, I haven't seen any of Ingram to know if he's any better.
Mike D'Antoni is "gaining momentum" as a candidate for the Rockets' coaching job.
This news comes on the heels of Jeff Van Gundy falling out of the running. According to the ESPN report, D'Antoni impressed owner Leslie Alexaner, who has vowed to be more active in the coaching search. If D'Antoni does get the job, there would certainly be plenty of fantasy bumps in his innovative "seven seconds or less" offense.

The dude plays a bit like Maimi Bron than Green imo... He used his body and size a lot in the post in half court sets. Jumper is broke and flat tho

The point can be made that for a team that needs a coach tougher on players and more defensive in nature, D'Antoni is a worse hire. At least Woodson was around back then to run D for the Knicks, I'm not sure Rockets have experienced defensive oriented assistants on the staff. The Rockets have a rare chance to change the culture without having to blow up the staff.... and D'Antoni is "gaining steam"? Not good... should really look at Vogel or it the want a real mindfuck, Scott Skiles.

Mike D gaining steam means D12 is gone gone and the Rockets see without him going defensive doesn't match their roster as is
By blackace Go To Postyou are saying stuff but your team might hire Rambis… so yeah, there is that. There are some nice defensive oriented pieces on Houston but if D'Antoni stays true to form he won't give those guys minutes... Also, just because Knicks might hire Rambis has no bearing on my comment. Let's just get this out of the way right now so the board knows this for sure: I have not, nor have I at any time been affiliated with the Knicks front office. I am allowed to question decisions teams might make since I am just a fan. Now if I was part of the hiring committee and/or had Phil's ear, then you might have something there.

posting memes of Phil talking down about a Mike D hire? You don't see the irony?
But I don't see a Vogel or Skiles working with Harden... Mike will at least get them away from hero ball
I'm kind of torn on Philly getting the #1.
One one hand, fuck getting the #1 pick after such shameless tanking. They didn't even try to put a respectable product on the court and they should not be rewarded for 3 years of this fuckery.
But on the other hand, it's the fans that are also being screwed and to root for them to suck for perpetuity is to root for them to have no hope and that's not what I want either. People like Knux deserve a real team in Philly.
Still, better than Boston no matter what.
