By giririsss Go To PostMate, you might want to think about when your franchise can even draft glass, don't worry about our glass walls. Why do you even bother drafting players? They either leave ASAP or we end up with their superior brothers. And then they leave anyway.

I would have been happy with just keeping the pick. Getting 2nd is a step above though. Curious yet slightly hopeful for the offseason right now
By Moris Go To PostGuys I'm stoked LA kept its pick.Byron's gone. Luke is in with his 21st century offense.
getting Ingram or SImmons, and $60m in capspace.
yeah we sittin pretty right now.
Laker fans are quick to ignore that we're probably gonna be real bad next season and 2017 1st is only top 3 protected.
This time next year we all gonna be crying without a lot of luck.

He's played on teams that have actually gone places in the play offs. And is now on the better New York team too.
But while you get on your Brook Defense Force fighter suit, remind me how Deron Williams said playing for the Nets made him contemplate quitting basketball. And how many all stars they currently have on that roster. And how many rooks that are worth a shit?
(It won't take long to count, it ends at 0).

Your franchise is a revolving door of trash and bad press. Does anyone even know who's on the Suns? Does anyone care? Will anyone care ever again? No. The funny thing is you ain't never even been to Phoenix and can't properly appreciate that its a desolate rock completely devoid of hope and moisture; the Empire is gonna show up in town looking for the Death Star plans any minute now.

I don't want to tank next year. We'll be bad, but we should be better regardless of the pick we just got simply because we're not slowing up for an old man retirement tour.
Personally I don't give two shits about next years pick, or the one in 2018. I'll be rooting for progress and won't be praying for close losses
lakers still have incentive to tank next year since if their 2017 pick isn't in the top 3 the magic receive their unprotected 2019 1st rounder

I thought 2018?
Either way, I dont give a fuck. I hate tanking and want to root for progress. I want to see Luke succeed and our rookies taking a step forward. If we luck into keeping our pick next year cool. Otherwise I'm over tanking
The tanking and those picks were part of former general manager Sam Hinkie's plan, or "process" as it has become known colloquially around Philadelphia and throughout NBA as well. The strategy was highly controversial, enough to lead some, including NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, to call for lottery reform.
With part of Hinkie's plan coming to fruition, Brown couldn't help but think about his former general manager on Tuesday night.
"I did, and I do. He deserves to be recognized," Brown said.
Let's be real, the fact that the Sixers finally got a #1 pick is even more reason to discourage the kind of shameless bullshit they engaged in for the past few years.

people cry about the hinkie process but ask yourself if its truly better to be the denver nuggets and their "honorable" tanking that's leading to absolute shit tier draft picks
fuck that shit, bottom the fuckout

Mutombo played for the 76ers during his Hall of Fame career and now works for the NBA as a global ambassador. On Tuesday afternoon, he received an email from the Sixers organization asking him if he would post a congratulatory message on Twitter if the 76ers won.
The email, obtained by AP, showed some sample tweets that could be used. He copied and pasted one onto his Twitter page - but then immediately sent it.
"It was like maybe 30 seconds, then I realized, `Whoa! What did I do here?"' he said. "But it was too late. It was out in the air."
mutombo pls

It makes sense for the Sixers to do that. They want to control their social media coverage, and having Mutombo tweet out something would increase the impact if they got the pick.
Seriously guys. It would be impossible to fix with all the safeguards they have in place.

it's always fixed.
if lakers would've won it would have been "oh obviously lakers get the 1 pick, so clearly fixed".
story makes perfect sense or do people think those stars always bust out photoshop to have the images ready for instagram?
nah nba obviously rewards franchises that annoy them for a bit.

Don't throw stones if you live in the fucking desert.
No team in this league would trade places with your bum ass franchise.
By DY_nasty Go To PostLike mutombo deletes tweets every weekLike that wasn't the most likely result by percentage anyway.
I don't think it was fixed but it's clear that somehow Mutombo heard about the draft results early and tweeted about it.

Broken jumpshot in a league that increasingly values shooting above all else vs. a quality wing. It's not farfetched at all.

Other than them being the only two real quality picks, I'm not very familiar with either. I've seen most people value Simmons higher though so I was kinda shocked.
Simmons is kind of a bad fit for Philly and LA but he has so much potential.
Philly needs to trade Noel to Minny for their 1st, and Okafor to Boston for their 1st + filler
Dunn - Heild - Simmons - Saric - The Ghost of Embiid

What would Randle's trade value be if the Lakers get Simmons? Simmons-Randle is a really horrid fit.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostWhat would Randle's trade value be if the Lakers get Simmons? Simmons-Randle is a really horrid fit.
No way LA could get decent value for Randle, Simmons\Randle is truly a nightmare forward pairing skillset wise.
Thank god we're getting Ingram. 😀
We cannot trade BOTH bigs until we are totally sure Embiid won't disentergrate. He is a backup until he proves otherwise. Plus Noel is due to get paid soon so that kills his value. Jah is on a rookie deal for 3 more years and there is always the really good chance that he is better than he shown, so he has value.
I am just glad that I can actually watch tape of both tho.

Simmons-Randle-Nonshooting center as a starting frontcourt would be epic though. They might have a 75 ORtg in the half-court.
Pshaw ... Randle's gonna come out of summer with a newly found shot and Moris will regret ever doubting him
