By P.SY! Go To PostSo Wiggins is on pace to be a Kobe level scorer.I think my original comment could be take as a "give up on him" thing. By no means do i mean that.
By P.SY! Go To Postwell, under thibs….
RIP Wiggins and KAT
They have no real Center. And their PF's are super undersized. Nene is a real unknown at this point, strugling to play 60 games and in tiny minutes.Mike D's best team had Stat and Matrix as his 4 and 5 so he doesn't care about the 5 in that sense at all...
I mean, what's their starting 5.
Bev, Harden, Ariza, Anderson, Nene?
Gordon, Smith, Motiejunas as their bench?
Anderson has been pretty bloody terrible at defense for anything other than rebounds for 5 years now. So their crunch time unit will have Smith as their C?
Nene is about the perfect center for Mike D, if he has any gas left that is...
I do think they are a wing away from being a good Mike D team but with the coach the roster makes more sense than the Thunder's
By pilonv1 Go To PostRIP Wiggins and KATI mean, Wiggins was already 2nd in minutes as a rookie and then 8th last year.
I'm sure his instinct will be to run guys as much as he can, but how much will the training staff let him? It's a better and more conseravtive group than he had in Chicago. Like, they closely watched Rubio's minutes last year coming off that major injury. I guess we'll see how much Thibs will actually listen to them.
By blackace Go To PostMike D's best team had Stat and Matrix as his 4 and 5 so he doesn't care about the 5 in that sense at all…But this team isn't as explosive offensively as that Suns team. So Mike can't just focus on O as much. There has to be more.

It's a worse roster, even for the new coach.

Is he going to start over Capella though? Nene and Ryno playing extended minutes together sounds like a recipe for disaster

I mean they didn't have a starting PF last season..

and you can't compare teams against historic offenses/defenses like that. the spurs had the best defense in the league last year, but you can't dock points for them not being the kg celtics
Am I glitched or something? I don't see who blackace is quoting? Can't go to the post he's quoting either.
By blackace Go To PostI mean they didn't have a starting PF last season..But they did have one legitimate big.
By DY_nasty Go To Postthey were a top 5 offense last year lolSo they were a top 5 offense, barely snuck in. Got a lot worse on defense. And they're guaranteed of still getting in? Ehhhhhhhhhhh

When you're trying to determine based on historic data on the coach and his play style and coming up with win results, you basically do. I mean, that's what it's based on.
Do i dock points from the SAS for not being the KG celtics? hell no. Do i think they're probably going to be worse defensively without TD? Yeah.

My work PC has a super old IE that I can't update.. so I quote by copying and pasting.
I think the Thunder have a chance only because the door for the second half of the playoff seedings for both West and East is much more wide open than previous years considering how talent has shifted over the offseason.
Assuming that the top 4 is a lock for Warriors, Spurs, Clippers, Blazers, we have 4 more spots open for teams like the Jazz, Wolves, Thunder, Rockets, Pelicans, Grizzlies, and Mavs to all fight for.
Out of those 7 to fight for those spots, some of them will definitely face injuries, so the Pelicans and maybe the Grizzlies as there are question marks to their roster at the moment with dudes coming off bad injuries.
That leaves the Jazz, Wolves, Thunder, Rockets, and Mavs. All these teams have some chance of hitting 5-8. I'm really high on both these teams so the Jazz and Wolves I would see seeding higher at 5 and 6, and 7 and 8 would be open for the rest of the west to fight over.
Like I don't like the Thunder but I'm not going to completely count them out. I don't think they will be as high as a 5 or 6 seed, but it is possible for a 7 or 8 considering the competition they have.

Idk if I'd say Portland is locked into the 4th seed. More I look at the West the more I like Utah's chances.
Brehs, how does a healthy Clips match up against GS? IIRC, last November they kinda sorta competed with the Warriors through 3 quarters

I would say that 5 slots are all but a lock and they have 3 slots to fight over in the west...
Woah, Kristaps changed up his look too.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostCappella will start. There's a good chance that Nene and Gordon both miss 25+ games each.
Nene won't last at all
By 3SidedPolygons Go To PostI'm gonna go ahead and say that 1-2 of those guys won't be in Philly come March. If I am Philly I gotta keep them until a decent offer comes my way
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostOkafor is so underratedSeriously. Dude came into the league with a respectable offensive arsenal and yeah he sucks n defense but every rookie not named Towns or Winslow sucked on defense.

Myles Turner. Stanley Johnson. Kristaps Porzingis, sort of.

cool

By P.SY! Go To PostSeriously. Dude came into the league with a respectable offensive arsenal and yeah he sucks n defense but every rookie not named Towns or Winslow sucked on defense.I think defensively, the worry is he might not ever be good. He might not have the quickness and foot speed to be good.
But, yeah, he was as advertised, wasn't he? He's a bigger Al Jefferson, but I'd want him to rebound better for a guy his size.
